To those asking about a wide release, this set wil always be an exclusive in one way or another. I have no doubt it will come to the states, but it will be an exclusive at tru or walmart or another specific retailer. It wil never truly be a wide release like the G2 Combier Wars figures are.
Also, here are some more images of Prime:

This. Oh, so this.
Also, it's been the 10000000000000th time that mold is released. How about something new for a change? Complainers should just buy the one they like best off Ebay.
Nemesis Destron wrote:So with these recently announced repaints and mold degradation being what it is when does a mold reach a limit in usage? Is it at all possible?
Randomus wrote:Yeah, yeah, the clear parts are unpainted, but that's obviously to mirror the clear red parts on Megatron. At least they're trying new deco ideas.
I think what Randy meant by common theme is that Megsies wings are totally red inside. While painted on the outside (not much though) he's clear and paintless inside. So yeah, him and Prime complement each other. Megs just does it better.Emerje wrote:Obviously? I don't know what you mean when they obviously painted Megatron's barrel silver. If they had left Megatron's "wings" completely unpainted then, yes, I could see a common theme here, but they didn't. At the very least they should have finished what they started on Prime and done the rest of his stripe and the headlights if they're going to paint details on Megatron's clear parts. I don't mind the clear sides per se, but I do think there's something wrong with not giving both figures equal treatment.Randomus wrote:Yeah, yeah, the clear parts are unpainted, but that's obviously to mirror the clear red parts on Megatron. Yes, Megs is based on an N-Strike Maverick. This is one of those obvious things that Hasbro doesn't understand (like a TF vs G.I. Joe line). They've even made a few Transformers Nerf guns.

First off, welcome to the boards!![]()
and to answer the question, we're not sure at this point. I don't think any of the recent platinum sets have shown up at UK retail yet, peeps feel free to correct me on this, I think the most recent one we actually got was Perceptor and Blaster.
Everyone's commented on it now so I might as well say my piece. I like the megatron decco. I dislike the prime decco. For megatron it looks great, understates the kibble in bot mode, and the actual outline and shape is all still there for the gun to at least have all the important details there. I've never owned that mold in particular so I'm excited to pick it up in a colour scheme that isn't lime green, purple and cream. Prime feels unfinished though. Yeah the kibble looks minimized in bot-mode, but, it's mostly unchanged from the original classics prime decco and they left out the 2 most important paint apps for the truck mode to actually look like a truck. In addition, that silver paint that they used, while pretty nice looking, looks like it's already starting to rub and chip on those photos from weibo. I don't hold faith that this will be the best of paint jobs.

Translucent plastic has an unfortunate history of being more prone to breakage than opaque plastic. It's thinner and not as sturdy, and when it's sometimes used on joints or on parts that move around a lot, it becomes a gamble as to how long it might last if one isn't careful or aware of translucent plastic's fragility in comparison to the stronger opaque plastics.mirageandjazz1197 wrote:fenrir72 wrote:

What's wrong with translucent it ceartinly "Transforms" the figure![]()

Lucky Logician wrote:If you wanted to do a Red Gun Megatron, why not make him ALL red? Don't bother with any silver, maybe give him a new head, and turn him into Beast Wars Megatron.
The red color and the wings are reminiscent of his red dragon form. Write up some alternate fiction where Beast Machines didn't happen. The Maximals actually brought him back to Cybertron and he got locked up in prison. Eventually he breaks out and chooses a new alt-form for himself as a gun in homage to the original G1 Megatron.
