wow. i like this set. very good way to make a junkion horde. I have a Wreck Gar so I'd leave one in a bike mode.

These look great. Can't wait to get this set. I hope there are more 30th anniversary animated movie figures and or sets on the way!

It will probably be found in the US. Every single platinum from last year was eventually available at a US retailer online. However, I can guarantee that it wont be obvious to know when and who will carry this in advance. So keep an eye out on this thread and we will make sure to report when it is available at a US retailer.

Also, to all those who want the Platinum Dinobots, I believe they are an online retailer exclusive since both BBTS and TFFource have the set at the retail price of 150$, which makes sense since the price at Canadian trus was 200$ cdn.

I really want this set, these figs will fit in well with all my other Animated Movie characters and I missed all 3 figs when they were previously released.

I shudder to imagine the price I will have to pay for this though.

With shipping that's just over $200 AUD. Does anyone have even a rough idea how much this will go for in Australia based on previous Platinum Sets?

Don't get me wrong, Running with Scissors was the first album I ever got as a child, I love them both.

But I won't pay $100+ for a set of barely altered repaints; I passed on hot rod because his thigh articulation is horrid, and as much as I want to like the wreck-gar mold, I won't pay this kind of money if the breakage issue hasn't been fixed (and as of tfss Tarantualas, it hasn't), so yeah, junk - unintentional pun unintended

Well, relatively speaking I suppose you're correct, and I was giving them the benefit of being 'platinum' when saying I'd pay $20 each for them, but I really wouldn't, even if they were priced at that level.

Lastmaximal on Allspark, who brought us the very first image of the 2016 Platinum Optimus vs Megatron set, finally also took pictures of both the cover of the box and the toys inside. He/she also precises that the toy was selling in the specialty store for about US $100, which is the estimated price point.

The cover is a re-enactment of the final battle between Optimus and Megatron in the 1986 Transformers film and the special stamp on the cover marks this as part of the commemoration of that film. This posits that both the Megatron and Optimus toys are supposed to reference this scene and those G1 decos, at least for their robot modes.

boxart models don't match the designs of the toys.

Ok. I am ready to see the proposed Rodimus and Galvatron two pack now - I have soothing music, a meal, candlelit table and open wine ready it.

I like it and now it will be interesting to see what they do for the galvy and rodimus set

I wonder if they would pull something out of left field...

Know what? It wouldnt surprise me the slightest if they'd pull something like making a Platinum Energon Rodimus and Universe Galvatron set for 200$.

I really, really hope we get more than some overpriced repaints. Also; wine, candles? Chuck Daddy will be over soon.
