As for the Platinum sets, the only one I've really got my eye on right now is the Autobot Heroes set, and that's really ONLY for Ultra Magnus, who looks incredible. It's the most G1 screen accurate deco for that mold yet. The others, I either have better versions already or will soon enough (Takara Legends Blurr), so I'll likely sell those off or give them as gifts.

I still think TR Scourge looks like a soap bar. And I love it. I think the old Scourge, although a good alt mode, just doesn't fit in with Cyclonus and Galvs as much.

Steering this back into better waters, the Platinum sets just aren't appealing to me. They are quite pricey and just aren't my cup of tea

While Toysrus Canada has had the Platinum Planet of Junk set available for a while now, the set had yet to come to the US. It was only available as an Asian import with the high cost accompanying it (i.e. 120$). Thanks to fellow Seibertronian AZT, we now know that Target, the exclusive US retailer for this Platinum set, finally has this in stock. So if anyone has been interested in this set, it is finally available online for the more affordable price of $74.99 USD. For those unaware, this set is made up of:

Wreck-Gar as a redeco of Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar
Autobot Hot Rod (NOT "Rodimus") as a redeco of Classics Rodimus
Junkion Scrapheap as a redeco of e-HOBBY United Scrapheap

And you get the rodimus mold with the clear blue windows, something else that has gotten very pricey lately.

Amazon are almost always on the pricier side when it comes to TF's. Glad I have no need for these figures.

Now that Cyclonus and Scourge set I might be interested in but only if other sites will be more reasonable.

I like the alt mode of TM Scourge it's the wings in bot mode that annoy the h3ll out of me. They could've put more effort into them instead of making them a hotdog bun....

75 bucks for 3 deluxes is a very bad price, imo. Even at TRU prices, that should be 60 at most, and this is Target, meaning it's even more over what it should be.

Not saying it doesn't look cool, but that's $25 a figure, at that price this should have 3 voyagers, not 3 deluxes.

Consider at least part of the price to be a premium for finally releasing the Scrap Iron toy in US stores, outside of TakaraTomy and BotCon.

I bought it. Happy to see it out so soon and as an easy to get, "order it online in five seconds" type of set!

But you are paying a premium for the box. This set isnt your standard deluxe release, this is made for fans who collect MISB, with the window panel. And like its been said, in here you are getting a figure that has never been found at US retail. This whole box set is cheaper than buying any other figure having that exclusive headsculpt individually. Plus, that hot rod is more quality than any other deluxe on the current shelves (his subsequent rereleases took away the clear plastic to lower costs, this one brings it back) so your comparing apples to oranges here.

There was never a time in history when getting these three molds with the material used here has ever been cheaper.
