Wow, this hits right in the feels. But it was a nice stroll down memory lane. Here's hoping some projects eventually do see the light of day, like that Cliffjumper.

WOW... that's a lot of stuff. what about all the mangasteel(is that the name? I can't remmber) dinobots? they also have that skyfire that never came out either.

Kickstarter (as other crowdfunding sites) works perfectly fine for a lot of things! The issue did not seem to be on that front, when I followed it, but rather on the behind the scenes of the people who would then go on to actually produce the figure.

Hey guys, got an email from Griff last night just sating to let you guys know that because of the risks involved and some other projects being behind that this isn't one that can go through. Also said that he wouldn't be giving the design to another company, which is respectable.

So, it sucks but hopefully in the future there's an even better Nova design that comes along and is one that can be produced. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who had interest in this one coming to light, though.

Speculating Igear when they did those MP seekers. Feel behind in other products. Think other stuff got shelved, delayed too long than eventually canceled.

Guessing the same happened with MMC when did those Feral Cons for over 18 months. Other products got shelved, delayed and than canceled.

When I saw this picture I was amped hoping for a reimagined presentation of Soundwave and how he carried his cons. Very disappointed . . .

Yea I've heard they company actually wanted TJ to front some money? forgot the exact details. Kickstarter works for a lot of things but, this would not be one of them.

Read on another forum. That this was never intended to be a mass produced 3rd party toy. It was a custom project that some guy made for a school project.

With MMC canceling over a dozen of their planed projects, Wondering if Carnifex got canceled also. :-(

Guess well know this answer hopefully this year when 3rd parties have those show and tell panels at some unofficial and official conventions this year.

Hoping that with MMC Doing the DJD toys, That Carnifex Overlord is next. Since all of these guys have a friendship turned rival enemies past in the IDW TF comics. Last I read in the IDW TF comics, The DJD put Overlord on there bounty hunt list they got.

I'm not sure where you're getting "over a dozen" from. Those "Steelian Scientists" were a running joke - they were trolling the fans. The only items I can safely say they cancelled were the HoS line, like the Insecticon train.

When I see your name Tsu, the first two things that come to mind are 1). precision measurements and 2). Overlord. I don't think Carnifex is cancelled. If I remember correctly, MMC is getting a second factory to work on their stuff. I'm sure this will allow them to get their projects out a little more timely. And I wouldn't doubt if Carnifex shows up somewhere in the middle of the DJD roll-out.

The Steelian Scientists joke burned me up with MMC for a time because I actually did want that Perceptior figure. But I question how much of a joke it really was since Perceptor had a prototype made.

They had to have been a little serious about it.

Apparently it was all to advertise their own Six Switch figure .... which was canned. So, maybe they still count?

While the head is really ugly I would still love to have this figure. I would even drop up to $300 to buy that prototype. I really wish someone would do a proper G1 head for Botcon Firestar (flareup BH mold)

Man, and to think, I almost bought a second Animated Voyager Prime in anticipation for that trailer, so I could display both at the same time ...

Looking at iGear's high end Bumblebee again, I think I know now why it never came to be, it's too complicated and would have fallen apart. I mean look at the feet, the inside of the foot is actually the hood on a sliding hinge. And that was supposed to be roughly Deluxe sized, damn.

Ha, this thread could have almost entirely been made up of iGear stuff, no other company announced so much just to cancel it.

Wait, BTS cancelled their overlord? :shock:

I don't think iGear ever cancelled those minibots. Remember their Sharkticons? It took forever, but they finally go those out. I wouldn't cpount out the minibots just yet.

i think it ludicrous that MMC didnt produce that shockwave. thats a license to print money right there.

im also sad that igear never finished their MW line. i still really like their CJ and wheelie. their powerglide is good but, y'know... combiner wars and such.

has igear made anything since those skarkticons?
