Venksta takes his time, and is often late with things. I generally don't mind that, but I am curious to see what's in the works.

He previously alluded to making a Nightbird head for Stealth Azalea, so perhaps he's doing this in concert with Feral Queen tooling. We'll know when we know.

Now that I think about it, I think one of the other fembots was listed as a PSX exclusive on the MMC page before getting more of a general release. I am hopeful that Feral Queen gets one too.

I think I was just combining memories of info on Feral Queen and the other fembots. I do hope we get a chance at seeing her. And I will, hopefully, panic less next time.

I'd forgotten about those MMC Hearts of Steel Insecticons. Even though MMC's quality back then was nothing like it is now, I would have loved that set.

I will forever lament that MMC canned their Hearts of Steel line. The Seekers and Cyclops were absolutely awesome (even if Cyclops is scary to transform) and given MMC's current level of quality and engineering...I would have loved more out of that line.

These took a long time to finalize, but I'm glad they didn't stop at this phase. I'm really happy with what we eventually got.

Ugh, that unreleased Headrobots stuff makes me sigh. I would've bought their kits, too.

It's interesting seeing the 'might have beens' here. I would've bought that FP Matrix in a heartbeat. Right now my 'Classics' Matrix is the one that came in that Hot Rod/Cyclonus two-pack. And Optimus can't even hold it!

Is anyone still sore about this guy? Vector Zeta.

I actually tried to buy the prototype with the intention of making it available on Shapeways. Ultimately, everyone got screwed on that one.

That Zeta Prime custom was sold off on ebay for $300!

I bid the hell out of that thing only to lose because I was at work and couldn't keep an eye on it. To be fair, if I'd've won for more than that I'd've probably ended up single quicker than I did. That's life.

Didn't even know that was a thing, it looks great!

There were never any rendered images made, but I really wish Impossible Toys would have gone foward with the Rainmakers repaints and purple clone of the Tetra Jet mold. I would have bought them in a heartbeat. I love that mold so much Im not even mad I paid full price when they first came out> i got all 7.

Vector Zeta was actually released.
The guy just overestimated his own abilities and didn't realize just how much work it was to make them the way he did. So in the time he claimed he would be able to make all 300+ figures, he only managed like 10 or so. Then instead of admitting defeat and try to fix the problem he just stopped working on them all together, took the money, and dropped off of the internet for a while.
But most of the ones he finished did make it to the paying customers.

Guy's still a douche though, and I don't think that whole thing reflects positively on him and his efforts of starting his own toy company and toy lines for toy collectors.

If you're planning on making 300 making 10 doesn't count as releasing it. Maybe in a kind of technical way, but in a more actual way it didn't see a release.

Those tetrajets work fine with a G1 display, or in jet mode in G1 or classics.

I ended up picking up the 3 main seekers when they were on super clearance at BBTS.

I'm glad I didn't pay full price, but they were totally worth the $15 or $20 I paid for them.

The Tetrajets have unspeakably awful headsculpts mind you. If someone were to come out with a better tetrajet I'd be all over it.

im a big seeker fan, and would DIE for a legitimate tetrajet figure. and i too would have bought that entire set at full price if it werent for that doofy head sculpt.

We're off topic, but you do have to wonder why the Impossible toys guys thought that headsculpt would be acceptable. And I mean at all. I get that test shots are probably pricy, but someone on their team had to have realised it wouldn't fly.

From what I understand those were specifically built to go with a G1 display, thus the "cartoony" sculpting, slightly odd proportions and doofy head sculpts.

And the figures actually work in that capacity.

However, fixing those few things could have made those figures excellent additions to anyone's classics display, and gotten them much wider appeal, but apparently IT was stubborn in that regard.

IMO UT was in a similar boat with style and sculpting, but is learning that lesson and making stuff with better detailing and wider appeal.

I can't completely believe that, at least when it comes to the faces. MAYBE the proportions, but not the faces. G1 faces are all nicely detailed. It looked like someone took the smooth tool to the original Rainmaker render and just had their way with it. Maybe it had to do with costs, but whatever the reason it just killed the toy.

Not sure G1 was as detailed as you remember, particularly true in the later G1 era:

I dunno, they fit right in with a lot of that, especially Springer and Pretender Bee.
