You can see in some promotional pics of him holding it that it is a shotgun. But then again, they also call it a Fusion Cannon so... Who knows what it is?

Megatron seems to spend the movie in a bit of a depression. The whole mission to Earth thing just goes from bad to worse and now he has an Autobot giving him orders in front of his army.

Here's the pic. Looks like a shotgun to me.

Makes me wonder if he even use the Mechtech fusion cannon in DOTM.

It's more like a cloak. He's trying to hide the disfigurement from the last movie. Possibly coincidentally, his battle damage and cloak-thingy look remarkably familiar.

In no way is the weapon Optimus used a shotgun. He uses the same gun in both movies, and neither of those times is it a shotgun. His weapon is officially an Ion Blaster, just like G1.

Some people just don't have a sense of humor!!!!!!!!!

I don't expect the cape to be featured much (if at all) in the film. If you look at the actual pictures of the Megatron Truck, the tarp is much smaller than it is on the Voyager toy, and it doesn't look substantial enough to really cover Megs...

So if he has it at all in the movie, it might just be for the first scene that he is introduced in.

To be honest, I'm having doubts we'll even see his "Fusion Cannon" represented in the same way as on the Voyager toy, but time will tell...

Yea not sure if i'm feeling the whole cape thing either, I know its on his toy and such but it could've been hidden somewhere while in robot form.

I love the cape or more accurate term cloak.

The cloak adds a mystery & coolness to the toy. it looks awesome & adds more detail in both modes.

The rubber cloak is also cool because it sort of reminds me of the rubber cloaks/robes that some 1970's/1980's star wars toys used.
