Or I might just get Vector Prime and find a different Alpha Trion. This one is too small and expensive though, and the alt mode is...questionable.

Think the Beard-mustache with the glasses-hairy eye brows are meant to clip on and off to transform the figure into A-3 or Alpha Trion. The way it was done just looks cheap and makes the head look like a , Mr potato head with snap on and off face parts.

The cartoon depicted him as smaller than Optimus which is why this in my opinion fits the bill perfectly for a Classics display.
Everyone has their own ideals when it comes to their display, so if an Revoltech/Action-Master-styled figure is preferred, each to their own.(btw this is cheaper than the Fewture figure and it transforms)Dead Metal wrote:For that money I'd rather get the way more accurate and better looking official figure by Fewture.
As much as I would love to order this now, probably going to have to wait until after Christmas...

How is a lack of an alt-mode a deal breaker with a character that does not have one in the first place? On top of that it's super accurate, and is full of die-cast (for those who like that sort of thing).

Did you watch the review where thee guy said changing the armor scratches the shiny paint ? Did alpha trion really never have an alt mode or did we just never get to see it ? I like the idea of him having an alt mode, especially in an era where the characters around hin all have alt modes.

Did Megatron never really turn into a tank in the cartoon, or did we just never see it? But if HasTak released MP Megatron with a tank mode you'd blow a fuse.
Honestly this figure looks undersized, kinda weirdly proportioned, has a half-assed alt mode, and is way too expensive. There's better figures reperesenting Alpha Trion as he appeared in the cartoon (like the non-transforming Art Storm model) and for those who want a transforming Alpha Trion, I dunno, get the Timelines figure. It probably won't cost as much as this.

I don't really get why he has the crystal on his chest, though. What's that supposed to be? A Matrix? I hope it's removable.

Well for me the gun mode on megatron is too iconic to ever change into a tank. If you ever had megatron as a kid, it took transformers to a whole new level of play that no vehicle could take you. I mean what kid in the 80s didnt love realistic toy guns ? Todays kids dont get that kind of fun. They get nerf guns that are hot pink with purple polka dots.
On botcon alpha trion, I already got him. I paid $200. I love him, but do think he is a bit oversized. This figure scales alot better and is more G1. The one you speak of looks good, but its more of an action figure than a transformer. Plus I hate diecast. I did preorder that figure initially but I cancelled. The video really didnt wow me.

In the 1980's Marvel Transformers USA and UK G-1 comics, Megatron Cybertronian tank alt mode was shown.

Think TFCC should reissue all of the most highly demanded Botcon and club toys. As TFCC makes nothing off the injected molds collecting dust in some assembly factory.
It would be great for fans like myself and others to buy some TFCC toys we missed out on and get them for a non-secondary market high price.

Anyone else think they could have done a better job engineering the back-kibble to be a bit more cape-like? Looks like that's what they're going for anyway, but it only seems semi-successful to me.
