Nah, G1 Megs got **** DONE. I mean, by 2005, he successfully conquered Cybertron.
He later boarded an Autobot shuttle, killing all aboard including Ironhide.
He then succeeded in killing Optimus Prime, albeit being incapacitated in the process.

Megatron wasn't "obviously" doing anything.
Sam and his family probably got slaughtered by the humans. I hope so.
Where is Barricade? He got killed in DOTM. Did you not watch the movie?
The hatchlings were probably killed by the humans.
Lockdown took Ratchet's spark.
Galvatron and his minions took Lockdown's ship.
Why should the Autobots care about human life? The humans were trying to kill them, and experimenting on their corpses.
And about Optimus's motto, it's like Lockdown said; when you have that kind of loyalty to a cause or an idea, that cause will always betray you.
Optimus left Earth because he endangered the rest of the Autbots and the world by staying there.
Galvatron has no spark because the humans created him.
Lockdown's dudes are Cybertronian mercenaries.
I think the point the original poster was trying to make is that we had to infer answers to all of the above plot holes, because the movie was lacking scenes to provide any context for what was happening. Now I'm not saying that you're answers were wrong or that all movies have to spell out everything, but I think a movie's story should have better quality control than that.
Forgetting that it's a Transformer movie, a Michael Bay Transformer movie, it's still a huge budget mainstream blockbuster movie that a lot of people put time and effort into. Shouldn't the script quality be better than that in terms of loose ends, pacing and characterization?
I like the TF movies because they DON'T explain everything. That's why I get so pissed when people say you have to turn off your brain to enjoy these movies. You really don't. You understand the movie more if you actually pay attention and think about things instead of taking everything the movie says at face value, without going any deeper.

I thought I was the only individual on this planet that liked that about the TF movies!!! I love to put the puzzle together as a lot of so called plot holes aren't really plot holes! People need to sometimes pay closes attention.
Also I believe Optimus gain the rocket booster after he changed into the new truck. He also kind of used it when Galvatron was attacking him. Most of these "plot holes" people find in these movies can be solved with simple common sense. The problem is no one wants to think, unless the movie tells them that they're supposed to.

I think Optimus's Rocket booster that seemingly came absolutely out of no where, was gained when he lifted that sword. His whole body did slightly change when he did that, so he might've gained a power up or unlocked something in his body by that sword's power. Or (wildly speculating now) at some time in Lockdown's ship of wonders he scoured some new accessories to improve his body.
The thing that really confuses me is that Mark Walburg sends idiot out to buy supplies, they never get a chance to use those supplies, Mark does a bit of tinkering, and when Optimus emerges from the barn to fight the humans he still seems pretty damaged. Then when they are driving away, he randomly gets better by scanning a new truck? To me it seemed like Optimus was moments away from death in that barn... Apparently he just had a tooth ache.

I forgot all about that sword thing. Maybe his legs changed, as well.
What I don't understand is the concept of the knights. I hope they elaborate on that in the future movies. Because the concept seems badass.

Oh trust me, I hate the "turn off your brain" argument as much as any. Story should be an important factor in whatever movie you make, and it's not like a movie about alien robots from another planet is a brain-dead concept with no deeper merit or potential for compelling stories.
I just hate deliberately withholding information, major or minor, with the promise that it'll all make sense if you read the tie-in comics or watch the sequels. Much like Prometheus, I dislike when you ask questions or have legitimate grievances about the plot and the only response you get is "well, I guess you'll have to pay for the sequel to get any answers." That's not engaging storytelling, that's holding my interest and sense of closure hostage.

I totally agree. I have to hope Bay makes sense of things in the next one or two films. But if the past is any indicator, he probably won't. And that is what bothers me. Don't get me wrong. A lot of this movie was a big improvement from the first three. But Bay still took too many liberties. Either Bay has a well thought out trilogy planned out or he is shooting from the hip again.
There were more seeming plot holes I noticed. I just hope he makes the best of all this in the next films. This potential trilogy does have real potential. But Bay needs to keep stepping it up in the next one.
I hope that the 'Bots forge a real bond with the humans in the next one and begin to realize Prime's motto that "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." This out to be the motto of the Autobot cause. Prime needs to come back to himself as the defender of freedom too. I see some racial prejudice in the 'Bots against humans. Prime isn't supposed to be like that.

Could some one please answer this what happened to some of the Autobots like two MIA wreckers arcee chromia elita one wheelie and a lot (or all) of the Autobots from the toy lines from the first three films that never were in the movie (!?) My guess is that the were either killed or went off planet or sided with the government to spare their lives

As an action film it wasn't bad I guess, not a huge fan of the Bay everything exploded and a car chase ensued style. Only so many times cars flipping over and buildings falling is going to keep my attention...It just seems like the action is a rehash of the first three.
A few of the things that didn't sit well with me.
T1000 transformation. Begs the question how hitting them can damage them. And expects me to believe that humans created a superior way of shapeshifting over whoever the creators turn out to be.
Idiot boyfriend. "Im not here to help you save your daughter, your here to help me save my girlfriend!" Who would say that? I would have to believe that would prompt most fathers into punching him in the mouth. Accent was heavy at first and was nearly gone by end of film. Useless character.
Jetpack. And he is going to go fly to wherever?
Did kinda like Galvatron for the three minutes he was in the movie.
I do agree that the human involvement and the lack of corny potty humor was a big improvement, so there is that. And at least the Decepticons had multiple color schemes....still I found myself fidgeting and looking at the clock.
I honestly feel like there is so much potential in this franchise that is being missed under the guidance of this particular director. I know, I know, just another Bay hater right?

Based on this weekend's returns, the Transformers aren't going to face extinction any time soon.
At the domestic box office, the fourth installment in the immensely successful franchise opened to an estimated $100 million. That's the biggest opening of the year so far ahead of Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($95 million).
The movie's audience was 64 percent male and 58 percent were 25 years of age and over. They awarded it an "A-" CinemaScore, which is in contrast to its abysmal 17 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
ILM visual effects supervisor Scott Farrar describes the show as the “heaviest data wrangling picture I’ve ever done, the largest in ILM’s history. It was the largest crew I’ve ever had – 500 people. It was IMAX and 3D so you’re rendering twice as much at least. Our work is about 90 minutes worth of the movie.”
One of the most expressive, and complicated, robot faces in the film was Lockdown’s, who was voiced by Mark Ryan. “We used Mark Ryan’s face as a heavy anchor on how his face should move,” explains O’Connor. “Using his face as reference, we got a pretty bang-on match to the actor and I think that adds a heck of a lot of detail to the performance because we’re pulling up nuances to what the actor did.”

I'm the biggest G1 Decepticon fan, Galvatron plays 2nd fiddle to Lockdown? If my memory serves right with the prior movies, This means Galvatron maybe get's one line to say in the whole movie? I was hoping to hear more g1 Galvy. Wonder if he is true to the character or is a brand new character. Sorry Admin is this is a reoccurring thread.
