I never said it was an apology. What I meant is it was damage control. Somebody from hasbro dropped an orange and white turd on the sidewalk so they pulled out the corporate pooper scooper.

If it was damage control they would recall all Alpha Bravos. AB is not damaging them in any way. But they're releasing a bonus figure to smaller stores to make a little extra money.

When I said damage control, I didnt mean the sky was falling. I simply meant the original exclusion of sli gshot and wildrider got enough negative feedback to trigger a response in the form of easy repaints.

Possible, but toys tke time. Even repaints, Hasbro can't just whip those out in a matter of weeks. That stuff has to be scheduled into the moulding machinery, painting, pacaging, and then scheduled to go out in a shipping container. If a machine is not in use, its costing Hasbro's factory money by not making something that they could sell, ans=d there is no way that between the time AB showed up in hand and the projected MAY arrival a month away that Hasbro could've gone "Huh. The fandom didn't like our faux Slingshot. We should make a new Slingshot," make him, package him, and get him on a boat to go overseas and into Distribution. So, my theory, and one that was floated around long before toys were on pegs, was that Slingshot and Wildrider were always coming down the line somehow, and that Hasbro deliberately held them back because if we KNEW of Slingshot, and had a timely go at him no one would buy AB. Whereas by waiting, those who were impatient (Is that the right word?) to fill out ANY Superion would buy AB and earn the extra money for the AB/Blades/Vortex(?) mold first. And THEN they could sucker us into buying MORE Airelbots later.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out CW wave one was some kind of experiment by Hasbro. Not only was Alpha Bravo introduced, but Drag Strip was also drawn on the packaging as being a legitimate Superion limb. My OPINION is Hasbro wanted to see how far they can push the bar to see exactly what type of fans buy Generations figures. Are they G1 traditionalists? Are they IDW fanatics? Do they care more about the playability of limb swapping OR the homage factor of the original characters the toys represent? My OPINION is that that Hasbro solicits fan feedback in many forms from reading TF forums to opening fan e-mails. Didn’t the Slingshot/Wildrider teaser even say “You asked for them?” So yeah, my OPINION is the Slingshot/Wildrider repaints are a direct response to the feedback Hasbro’s program analysts gathered.

That may be, but how long would production normally take? Several months? Anyone?

Whatever the case may be, Hasbro actually listening to the (complaining) fans, or just playing us like a cat with a ball of yarn by planning this from the very beginning, that doesn't change the nature of the Quickslinger and Wildrider releases.

Or the nature of Alpha Bravo for that matter.

Or it could be the "Bro's" plan was to have new characters for the sake of comics and toys, and then release quickslinger and Brake-neck for fans that don't like change, or are obsessive compulsive enough to buy them; all for the sake of, wait for the revelation.......capital gain.

Jesus, is it really this impossible to accept that some people might just want Superion and Menasor to be the way that they were in G1? Like, maybe some fans just like that better or prefer that to something different?

I just want the Alpha Bravo detractors out there to know that due to his easygoing and compassionate nature, Alpha Bravo forgives you all. Also, based upon his name, he actually came before Alpha Trion. He is Primus' eternal and mysterious son~ a perfect metaphor for Easter.

Actually he may be right on that particular facet. They may have been considering it all along, but there was a lot of buzz from the fans about wanting Slingshot and Wildrider, and Takara already had the logistics of retooling and redeco worked out, so Hasbro just had to schedule a production run in January or February and offered the figures to stores outside their usual rotation.

That's my theory at least.

They would have done it regardless. Squeeze out as many repaints as they can. Fan feedback has nothing to do with it. I can't prove that, but no one can prove otherwise either unless they have some inside Hasbro knowledge.

Yeah, i'm willing to bet that Quickslinger and Breakneck being released like this was always in the cards since day one of combiner wars development.
