You really need to get over yourself, and that coming from me is saying something.

Nobody expected TF's to be Shakespeare but I have a feeling you expect us to expect it.

I hate the writing in the TF movie. It was filled with holes and the jokes made me embarrassed to be there, even as everyone else was laughing.

I can't watch that movie anymore. It didn't even meet the low standard I was giving it.

Give it a freaking rest already. Nobody is as pathetic as you think they are in all this. Bay's movies are terrible. They only ones I like are The Rock and Armageddon, and that's only because The Rock was before he became like he is now, and Armageddon is so overblown it's rediculous. The man doesn't even like Transformers, and it shows.

If you're so tired of argueing about the movie then why are you still posting in this thread?

No he doesn't.
At least two of us in this thread have mentioned it not being Shakespeare or highbrow, just not condescending.

Everytime, we say that, he ignores it and repeats that we want it highbrow.

For some reason, he doesn't want to accept that Transformers was ever more than dumb commercial for other people. He believes his experience was the right one and anything else is deluded, and no matter what anyone else writes, reads everything as such.

Wow, never expected to start such a commotion.

First up, I have no problem with people liking the movie. I'm not gonna tell you "you're a stoopid" 'cause you like this film. That's fine. I don't like humbugs, but lots of people do, so who am I to say they're wrong?

My point is that all the threads semm to be about how good the movie is, and how great Bay is, and that is not a point of view I agree with. It's a valid point of view, and the guy was succsessful before the TF movie, but not one I agree with. I think up in Hollywood they just thought "robots hitting each other, lets get a fancy action director." The X-men are just mutants hitting each other, but look what Singer did with that premise. He took the time to do the research, and found out about what had kept the franchise going all these years.

Please don't hate me because my tastes are different... no, wait. I am different to everyone else, same as they're different to me, and so why should I have to ask for your acceptance?

It seems some people can't cope with people having different opinions.

Have fun with your DVDs, enjoy watching them. I wish you all the best, but please don't try to force that enjoyment on me.

BTW, yes, I am depressed, but the movie has only a small part to play in that. I was saying that after all the hype and expectation, the experience for me was depressing.

I liked the movie somewhat, but I wish there had been more action between the military and the robots. I didn't like the way Sam and Mikaela had been written, that is, I wish Mikaela had not been stared at so much by a horny Sam and that we didn't get so many shots of Mikaela's midsection. Sam staring at her like he did in my opinion took away from his character.

I don't know if anybody else found these parts disagreeable, but I did.

In the next movie, I want the Decepticons to scare me. I want to see them try to actually take over the world, and I want the military to interfere in the robots' buisiness. I wan to see tanks, fighter planes, mortor(sp?) rounds all being used against the Decepticons. I want Starscream to bring his ariel forces to lay siege against the military's Air Force. I want tank Decepticon's to fight against the military's tanks. Then I want the Autobots to come in an kick the Decepticons' butts.

oh and megan fox is hot. why would you complain about shots of her stomach?

Try reading what people have actually said. Then you would know the answer is no.

In the real world and not some polarised fanboy scenario, it doesn't have to be one extreme or another.

Kaworu mentioned X-Men, something I have many times too.

X-men is not Oscar material, but it's not just the cartoon with brightly coloured mutants brawling.
Singer looked at what made X-Men last, what made kids and adults relate to a bunch of superpowered beings they should have had nothing in common with.
He found the answer, specifically mentioning God Loves, Man Kills as an example of what made him realise that they weren't just superheroes with awesome powers but a minority, a bunch of people hated and persecuted for being different and most just wanting to belong.

He then used that to show us why people did what they did.
Magneto wasn't just evil 'cos he was evil, he had reasons and motives.
There were still kick ass fight scenes, we just knew why people fought on the sides they did, in the ways that they did.

That's all some of us wanted.

Still would have had action and kick ass scenes, but it would have had some genuine characterisation and stuff, things even kids films bring to the table.

Don't tear each other apart over this guys. It is what it is, good or bad, it won't change what we love about Transformers. Let Hollywood make the moola they need from their 80s revival and we can all move on with Transformers Animated and the subsequent Transformers series.

If you're going to call someone stupid, try spelling it you're stupid.

Only one thing says moron better than calling someone stupid whilst failing to use grammar at a 12 year old level and that is calling someone stupid for having an opinion that differs to yours.

It's also a rule break, which is, in my opinion, much more stupid that respecting people's opinions and not being a troll.

I agree, which is why, as much as I dislike the film, I will never agree with the "raped my childhood, ruined Transformers" bunch.

However, the reason feeling is so high is because, as this thread shows so well, anyone who felt dissapointed or thinks there's more to Transformers than giant f'n robots and expresses a desire to see that in live action, is told they're wrong, stupid, deluded and generally attacked.

Not all obviously, just as not all G1 fans are the elitists people call geewunners.

However, as an example, Sonray's inistence of what Transformers is and the claim that those who see depth are deluded etc exactly mirror many geewunner's stances, especially when Beast Machines came along.

On TFW, I argued that other designs styles, more traditional design styles were possible; not better, not saying upscaled toy without change, not saying possible meant should be used, just saying possible.
Whilst some debated the hows and the whys, others insisted that they weren't possible based solely on the logic that work or not the non movie styles were all too "kiddy" and the movie desigsn were the only "real Transformers".
Since then the same people have ripped into Animated for being too kiddy or "embarassing" toys compared to the movie.

This mirrors exactly the "animeformers sucks" attitude of the geewunners.

They call people with differing opinions stupid or try to belittle them, they refuse to aknowledge any criticism of the movie or respond by attacking other continuities, they send nasty threatening PMs, they use the "real fans" card.

All geewunner stuff.

Snobs who think their continuity and designs are the be all and end all, who refuse to accept Transformers meaning anything else to anyone else, who refuse to accept any criticism, who attack anyone who doesn't like it, who insist other continuities and lines are more childish when they're often more mature, trolling those who won't accept their opinion as right.

If that doesn't sound like a geewunner, I dunno what does.

Not all of them have every trait, but like the geewunners, they're so convinced of the movie's superiority, that any criticism and those who speak it seems so ludicrous they treat it with the responding amount of arrogance and contempt.

   Classic.

I love how you totally blew yourself out of the water with your own insult.

"your stupid" is a stupid way of saying it.

It's "You're stupid" as in "you are stupid".

"Your stupid" is a fragment. It means "your stupid [something]" as in "your stupid grammar skills".

And then your answer was "because he said that about transformers". Said what? Am I supposed to go back and read each post to determine what you mean? Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know what you mean, but actually not really, as the whole thread blends together in my mind, now.

And the best part is, you called the person stupid for an opinion. It wasn't the best film of the year. It was a loud and shaky mess. Fun, yes. Cool, yes. Not the best. But hey, it was your favorite, so you're not stupid for saying it was the best.

And no, the 2nd one does not look awesome, by the looks of the leaked script. The leaked script is a fake. If you'd read more of the topics posted, you'd know that.

So next time you call someone stupid, make sure you know what you're doing. Fail.

Wow. I knew feelings ran high on this subject.....

Anyway, I enjoyed the Transformers movie. I can see and understand why Bay had so many parts featuring humans in the movie. I believe that the next movie WILL have more Transformers now that they are introduced to the new people just getting into the fandom.

I don't mind that Bay is making the next Transformers movie and I am looking foward to going and seeing it multiple times like I did the first one.

And remember! Peace! We are all on the same side here! Just with slightly differing opinions!

Well, I liked the movie, but I think it could have been more violent or bloody, but it was for the kids too. The most I hated was Bay changing the designs to really ugly ones. I hate the toy line too, so horriable, I still can't believe how many actually think they're cool? But to each their own. I just don't like the alien look.

I don't have anything against Bay, but I wish he did some research or at least think of Transformers more than just a toy line, but he did the best he could, I guess.

G1 purists are all the same.

Anyway, I'm good with Bay doing the sequel. There's a lot that can be done with this franchise and the means of getting them on-screen. I'm just hoping he builds this thing up slowly. I see 3-4 films in this series.

People seem to want everything in the sequel: Soundwave, Dinobots, Devastator...

But it can't be like that. You can't cram everything into the next movie otherwise it'd conflict like it did with Spiderman 3.

So yea, I'm confident Bay can continue rolling with this.

Seriously people, quit berating others for enjoying this movie. I've seen so much elitism it's not even funny. Like G1 purists calling people that enjoyed this installment braindead.
