What do KISS and Sailor Moon have in common?

That song is meant to be evil and menacing sounding. Sailor Moon characters are hardly scary

****! I just remembered I finished DLing an episode of a certain series on Christmas, and got completely sidetracked by...well...let's just say Solid Snake and Dante tend to get a lot of my time.

Gundam 00: Episode 12:

-What I said about glowing pink things earlier...I don't take it back, but 00 Raiser seems to be the exception to the rule.

-Saji and Louise finally find out they're on opposing teams. I was actually expecting them to figure out earlier.

-The 00 Raiser has a lot of nifty abilities; not only does it grant Setsuna Newtype powers, it's also shown cutting an asteroid into fours, and what seems to be teleportation. Also, it's fast and powerful enough to kick Amuro Ray and Kamille Bidan's asses, at the same time. (He is not shown doing that, though it would be cool)

-Ribbons didn't know about any of this. And it pisses him off. It pisses him off very, very much.

-Louise reasons that since Saji is with Celestial Being, and Setsuna is with Celestial Being, and they both happened to have been neighbors five years ago (A coincidence), Saji must have been working with CB all along, and was probably involved with the death of her parents. (She still doesn't know the difference between the Meisters and the Thrones)

-While I was hoping Setsuna would punch Saji, I was denied my wish...however, Saji finally grew a pair and punched Setsuna.

-Revive and Bring are given a very simple order from Ribbons: Steal 00.

-Memento Mori makes a second strike on the planet, taking out a city with a large refugee camp.

-Tieria's remark that Saji's stupid actions (Such as running away from the Katharon base) keep getting people killed seems to finally sink in, and he backs off from runnign away in the 0 Raiser.

-Memento Mori makes a third strike, this time aiming towards space, destroying a somewhat large Katharon fleet....what, did they expect all it could do was shoot Earth and not defend itself?

EDIT: and Now Episode 13:

Gundam 00: Episode 13:

-The Fleet I previously mentioned was only about a quarter of the Katharon strike force sent to destroy Memento Mori. And then Healing Care (An Innovator who is more of a bitch than her name would imply) had to show up with her psychotically powerful beam cannon (Similar to the Virtue's GN Bazooka) came and screwed it up for the rest of Katharon. It did not go well for Katharon.

-I may have noted this in the past, but Katharon uses notably outdated Mobile Suits, and I mean suits that the Exia would destroy an army before the first commercial break. Flags, Enacts, Anfs, Tierens, all suits that weren't impressive five years ago, and can't even hold a candle to the new Gundams or the suits the A-Laws use. Hell, you can't even Zergling Rush with that kind of equipment. Which is why this goes horribly for Katharon.

-Until 00 comes and begins laying the smack-down, stopping war with extreme prejudice.

-Cherudim makes use of Shield Bits; much like funnels, except they don't shoot, they shield. They work much in the same way as Macross's Pin-Point Barrier, in that they'll move to intercept enemy fire, being much to small to cover the entire ship.

-Holy crap, all action here. Even the Saji/Louise subplot is brief, Saji asks Marie if Louise was a pilot, and Marie only confirms before going off to go help blow up Memento Mori.

-Oh, they do. As it turns out, the Super Mega Death weapon is destroyed...wait, doesn't that usually hail the end of the series?

-Lindt is apparently killed as well, so bonus points for killing the asshole.

-As Setsuna attempts to retreat, Healing Care tried to kill him more only to be save by...Nena Trinity? Man, times really have changed.

-Post credits...nothing notable? The hell? No plot twists, no sudden revelations, no announcement of evil schemes? Just Katharon watching the pieces of Memento Mori fall like a meteor shower, and Smirnov meeting what I can assume is an old friend. Way to drop the ball, guys!

Jupiter is the scout of Thunder. Odd though, Thunder is the noise that comes after lightning. Thunder is harmless, but Lightning is deadly. I don't think we'll see the senshi spitting blood or breathing fire any time soon though.

God of Thunder... the only character you should concider for that song is thy Odin-son, Thor.

Jupiter is an nature elemental, just look at her name, Kino Makoto (sincerity/wisdom of the forest) and thou most of her attacks are Lightning based that is secondary by-product of her powers as opposed to some of the others whose elements are clear. (Ami=water, Rei=fire, Minako=love)

as for your other points:
Blood... Stop watching the dubbed version with the nasty battles cut of the girls getting their asses handed to them.
Fire... Rei is a freaking Fire Elemental, there is no reason that with full controls of her abilities that she would not be able to.

Explain why I would want to watch the Senshi get their butts kicked? DIC is not that bad of a company. They made AOSTH, one of the funniest US Cartoons from the 90's, based on an awesome Video game character.

And maybe Mars can breath fire, but not like Gene Simmons.

Last, everything reminds me of Sailor Moon one way or another, especily when it mentions the moon or sailors

SC24 Sailor Moon R Episode Reviews: Episode 56

Sailor Mercury Phd? Ami was going to move to germany, but she didn't in the end. Dr. Mercury? Odd, Robotnik is from germany, and has an IQ of 300, just like Ami. DIC who makes AOSTH also dubbed Sailor Moon. What a coincidence! Finaly! Sailor Jupiter actualy apears. Mercury got a new attack! Glad it's not another smokescreen. The Negamoon! I actualy like the dub version. Far from the original, but better than the Toon Makers Inc/Saban Version by far.

☆☆☆☆☆ out of ☆☆☆☆☆ for this episode.

Did I say DIC was a bad company?

To put things simply, in so far as PSSM goes:
-- Some of the voice casting is just wrong, why the hell does Luna sound like a nanny, when she is suppose to sound about the same age as the Senshi?
-- Inability to retain VA's so characters change voices.
-- Episodes released out of order.
-- Enemy forces that are completely unrelated, writen together under the "Negaverse" crap.
-- Episodes cut out completely.
-- Every episode is cut down not only to fit more adspace, but also to add the pointless Sailor Moon Says PSA's.
-- Season ones great 2 part episode hacked up into 1 episode.
-- I won't even touch on what they did to the Haruka/Michiru Pairing or the outright ignoring of Season 5.

As for why you should watch them get hurt, in addition to why you should watch the original episodes,
-- The music is better.
-- The stories make more sence.
-- Seeing them get hurt and other experiances missing from the cuts to make the show "more accessable" enriches the characters making them more rounded and interesting than the watered down versions you see.
-- Most importantly, because the original is the story the animators and writers wanted to tell you, not the hacked version you see.

To touch on the differences at the end of Season One:
In the English dub, the girls all must fight on their own against a harpy with similar powers, these battles force Serena to move towards Queen Beryl and to save Darion on her own. luckily they are able to regroup to assist her for the final battle.

Touching and all good however, in Japan that formed less than half of the story. As the Senshi prepare to face the Dark Kingdom and after thinking about what each will do once Beryl is defeated, they find themselves entering the Harpy battles to allow the rest of the team to move ahead. In doing so, each of them sacrifice themselves and die to allow the team and eventually just Usagi herself to reach the final showdown with Beryl. Then after defeating Endymion with love, she taps the power of the Silver Crystal and is backed up by the spirits of the deceased senshi to defeat Queen Metaria.

When if comes down to it, the fact that these girls are willing to fight to the death and sacrifice themselves for Usagi takes the characters to a completely different level than the dub allows them to reach by being held back. That can make the difference from liking a character, to respecting it.

If Luna is 14, as old as the senshi, that means she's an old lady in cat years, unless she's senshi age in cat years, but she'd be a kitten in human years. I Know how it works I just don't see the logic in it. Plus, I grew up with the DIC dub. If I watched the JP version, It would be like a G1er watching the movie/animated.

BTW, My Language teacher kind of looks like Sailor Neptune, but with black hair. Odly enough, her name is Michele, Neptune's dub name. She isn't a ritch lesbian however.

Don't look at it logicly because if you do, then why the hell is a cat talking in the first place.

I am just going to take it that you have yet to watch the SS movie so for the sake of it take a look at this image.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... anCats.jpg

The Girl in the Yellow Dress is Luna. In this form the Japanese voice fits without any issues. Can you say the same for her American voice? That is the whole point I am making.

As for your flawed comparison, I am a G1er, hell I can be seen as a preG1er, that said I have no problem with the Movie or the animated series. For a proper analigy, I would have a problem with hacked up G1 episodes being messed with and presented as something new (oh wait they did that with G2, and that did suck)

It is also a fact that a huge number of the people who started with the DiC dub switched to subs as soon as they were able, because really the difference is just that severe.

There is a massive difference between watching a poorly executed dub, and a total remake or re-imagining.

If the '07 movie or Animated were uncut G1 episodes (Assuming G1 was ever cut down, this is just an example here), then you may have a valid point. But they aren't.

There are times when the dub is just as good as the original, such as Cowboy Bebop or Stand Alone Complex, but in those cases, the edits were very minor; a bit of blood removed here, some nudity removed there, but nothing so big it would ruin the episode. (And in the case of that man/woman in Cowboy Bebop, it would probably improve it) Not like Escaflowne, where an 26 episode series became 22, or anything done by 4Kids.

I still laugh when I think "What if Death Note were done by 4Kids?" That's something that should make me shudder in absolute terror, but I find it funny to think up ways one of my favorite anime would be destroyed.

That's what I assumed. Of course, the name could never be Death note, what with the word Death.

There's the problem: His name is Japanese! Kids can't understand Japanese names! That's why Satoshi had to have his named changed to Ash Ketchum, a name I never, ever want to have to type ever again...I need some purell.

Or Animaniacs, The Tick, and Futurama, which began in 1999, so it technically counts.

It's 2009!

And now for some morbidity.

Characters who died last year that I really loved:

Toru (Ga-Rei Zero)
Natsuki (Ga-Rei Zero)
Shirley (Code Geass)
Minai (Shikabane Hime)
Lira (Tytania)
Galahad (Sisters of Wellber)
Sayaka (Birdy the Mighty, OKAY she didn't actually die but she lost all her memories then left so it was as good as killing the character anyway! SAYAKA! REMEMBER TSUTOMU AND COME BACK!)

Short list but you were all awesome. I miss you.

As for everyone in Code Geass who died then came back to life again, FU and your gameshark cheats.

Except you Gilford, because you are god.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

And now for some morbidity.

Characters who died last year that I really loved:

Toru (Ga-Rei Zero)
Natsuki (Ga-Rei Zero)

ok...we know who i have to add to the list. But i will admit it seems odd naming the killer and killed in the same list :(

Has your dvd arrived yet?

You don't have to put her in the list because... she isn't dead.

Yep. My DVD is here! And there were no subs and absolutely bloody nothing of note on it. Lots of shots of the Shutoken Gaikaku, and animation staff wandering around it but absolutely nothing worthwhile. =(

The postcard with Natsuki and Mami on it was beautiful, half of it is in my sig on the right, and the extra CD with the soundtrack on was a great addition. I'm really pleased with being able to listen to the track where they lure the giant Kasha into a trap.

There was no announcement about an OVA but there is so much chatter about it on Japanese fan blogs that it seems like it's going to be inevitable. I only hope all those voices aren't falling on deaf ears.

Since there was no announcement I made this to cheer myself up, and it worked for a little while. Mostly because I nearly wet my pants with laughter while putting it together.

I consider her to have died in episode 12

Sure her evil self returns in the manga(and hopefully future animated eps), but it isn't really her.

I was really hoping they were going to include subs in the dvd releases...was a longshot i know. Glad to hear you are pleased with it, but i don't think i could pay that much for raws.

was wondering where that pic of natsuki and mami in your sig came from.

*crosses fingers for an english release, a second season, and a T4 ova

(lmao...ghostbusters!)

That's not it. I don't want to get all spoilery on you though. If you want to know just say the word.
