Oh, in other news my costume is here and I have just registered for Sakura-con. If anyone is going to it or is going to be in Seattle from the 9th to the 14th of April, come down and see me. It'll be great fun.

Just look for the guy in an orange jumpsuit waving around two Henkei Megatrons.

As far as I am aware, I'll be staffing in the Dealers Room. Likely wearing my Tac Vest, hopefully I'll be smart enough to get my name patches done, if so my forum name should be on the front.

Sakura-con record,

I've been at all but the very first.
Attended and was a voting member of the change to Sakura from Baka-Con.
I've been staffing since we left the Double Tree (year 4?)
I was staffing in the Main Event Hall the entire time we were at the Sea-Tac Hilton.
Dealers staff the last few years, after most the people I staffed with, quit staffing due to conflicts with the then Convention Chair.

I've been going since 2001, I just hop back and forth between there and Kumoricon. I wouldn't want to be on the staff though, I couldn't handle the responsibility when all I want to do is wander around aimlessly. The only year I didn't get to go was last year because I had just switched jobs and was a bit poor.

We have probably seen each other on several occasions, that's so cool. We must be bound by the red string of fate.

Never been to Kumori. After Anime Evolution started taking off up here, My main focus has been on making that con successful.

I still do Sakura out of misguided loyalties, but between those alone I get pretty conned out nowdays.

Still if I'm comped airfare and hotel space, I've done AXNY and PMX before, so anywhere is possible.

I can only go twice a year as it's pretty pricey to fly back and forth to the states. My darling has friends that go to Kumoricon so we have to go to that one. Sakura-con is a must because that's where we met for the first time in person, and it's more of a romantic thing than any kind of loyalty.

Indeed, if flying was cheaper, I would likely head down to Botcon, and for the sake of It I would like to see an Anime con in England for the sake of attending something different.

Despite living in the UK, I have never been to a con here because British people scare me.

I still do. I was born here, and have lived here all my life. You know there's something wrong with you when you're more comfortable around foreigners than your own kinsmen.

My politeness just comes from the way I was raised. I am thankful to my family for teaching me well.

I really hope no one takes offense to my comment. It just seems like most people from Europe, mainly Britain, think they're the greatest thing on the planet. I think elitist is the word I'm looking for

It may not surprise you to learn that most countries have the same attitude toward each other. America and France are the best examples of the ones most Brits consider to be stuck up.

I'm of the mind people are the same wherever you go. Every country has its fair share of zealots, crazies, normal, and wonderful people.

Emigrating at an early age is a good way to get around that sence of superiority.

I'm British, Proud to be from Bristol, but couldn't really care less if we get eliminated from the World Cup, or the state of the Pound vs Euro arguement.

I'm Canadian, and glad to be living here, but if all of North America goes to hell and back, and Vancouver was suddenly part of the States, the capital of Cascadia, back under London's control or a protectorate of Imperial Japan, as long as my basic lifestyle isn't affected I'll be happy enough.

OMG!!!!! I was watching wedding peach (Episode 4) and you won't belive who I saw!!!!! Ami (sailor mercury) and rei (Sailor Mars) were in a crowd at a soccer match. If you don't belive me, look for yourself.

References like that happen a lot. As you begin watching more series you will notice that there are sneaky cameos being made all the time.

Like when L came cycling by in Full Metal Panic TSR it was a real wtf moment.

I couldn't do that... You'd have to ask someone to draw it for you. And unless you want badly drawn stick figures, I'm not your guy.

Animators have always done bits like that and will continue to do so.

Pioneer has made an art of it, and Pixar constantly throws cameos into backgrounds with their movies. (look at the newers Cars short Tokyo Mater, Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc are hidden in the House of Donuts)

Hell, The Cantina scene in Family Guy: Blue Harvest had a ton, with Bender, Coach McGuirk, Roger from American Dad drinking with the Evil Monkey.

Time for some image spam. I thought I'd post the entirety of my little Tokusen 4 collection so far. Just cuz... you know... I wanna show off. I'm really proud and happy with everything I've got, and I can't wait for April so I can run around Seattle in a bright orange jumpsuit, waving two Henkei Megatrons around and get arrested for disturbing the peace and possession of a deadly weapon and possibly even shot and killed on sight. It's going to be so awesome.

Is this going to become a collection showcase now?

I don't have much of a collection to showcase, there's only this, a few random figures, and my Tekkaman Blade collection which is huge, and I don't want to have to unpack all that because I just don't have the space.

But I would be interested in seeing what other people have.

I'm not about the unpack stuff thats in storage but I could/should take a few snaps around my place of our collections.
- The DVD/Manga shelves
- Transformers shelves
- Plushie displays
- Sailor Uranus holding Megatron

you know, the basics.
