OMG, the whole of White Album episode 4 was so frustrating but when they finally found each other it made me so happy. And this part... I'm so happy I want to cry.

But then why... Why did the last few moments make it seem like something absolutely terrible is about to happen? I'm so scared for the next episode I almost don't want to watch it.

Almost.

Of course I will.

I actually quite like this one, but to each their own I suppose. What did you dislike about it?

Maybe it's just me but I find myself unexcited with the current lineup of shows. Nothing really grabbing seems to be out there, bleh.

It doesn't appeal to me emotionally, and if a harem show can't do that then I can't watch it, because otherwise there's nothing to do but look at the girls.

I can't get off on boobs and fisticuffs, and everything that made me laugh in the first episode disappeared.

The one saving grace was "Washizu-vision", while not an original concept it still succeeds in getting me going. If I do continue watching it, it will be purely for his character. I could be considered a Washizu and Ibuki shipper at that point, hahaha.

How does everyone feel about Trinity Blood? I haven't seen it in awhile, but I watched a good number of episodes. Maybe its my fascination with vampires, but I remember it being quite excellent. I'm thinking about acquiring it and watching it again. Hopefully finding all 24 eps. Abel Nightroad just seemed so bad ass!

For the me the best parts of Trinity Blood were the parts when Abel wasn't being bad ass. Because his false(?) character was so much more interesting.

I haven't seen all of Trinity Blood, but what I did see I had a few problems with. One was the use of CGI where traditional animation would look much better. The next was the red-headed chick was WAYYY over emotional. She made anyone in Gundam look like Spock.

Then there was the kid Pope. Kids can't be Pope, much in the same way a kid can't be the US President, they're not old enough. You can't get to that level in Catholicism that young. So that whole character revolved around inaccuracy.

The youngest pope in history was 18. I think he died with 19 after an angry man found him having sex with his wife and killed him.

Kemono no Souja Erin seems to be a very interesting series, I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode.

It revolves around a mother and daughter who look after beasts called Touda. They look a little like dragons, though a little less lizard like than the traditional image.

The mother and daughter are of a tribe of humans called "the people of the mist" who are identified by having pupilless green eyes. Nothing else has been revealed about them yet but I'm sure that will come in time.

I'm intrigued by how this will develop as there is a war going on where these Touda are used to fight. It's not very action oriented so some of you might not want to take a look but it really is interesting just to watch once.

I looked that up, that would have been John XII. Popes aren't allowed to have sex, and by doing it with a married woman, he actually broke one of the commandments. So if the guy didn't kill him, then the Church would have. The youngest Pope was supposed to be between 11 and 20...

...but still, you're not going to get a kid Pope in this day and age.

It's not this day and age though... It's some weird alternative world where vampires rule half the planet.

You bring up the Pope's age, but yet its ok for kids in their early teens to be soldiers in the Gundam series? :P

That's less of an age gap. Plus, most of the kid-pilots in Gundam are superhuman.

Newtypes are the next level in Humanity. Ofcourse they can pilot mechs by 18.

Likely they can drive by 8.

And Coordinators are able to build rather advanced mechanics before they even hit puberty. (That bird Athrun built for Kira)

At least in Gundam 00 anyone shown being a child soldier is usually shown being put through hell. (I.e. realistically)

EDIT: In fact, the only pilot in 00 under 18 is Setsuna, who was 16 in season 1. Even Soma, who, despite looking younger than most of the cast, was still 18 in season 1.

Just remember that in the grander picture that Coordinators and Newtypes are pretty much the same thing with a fancy name.

Differing parts of Bandai (especially BanPresto) have labeled Kira and others as Newtypes and in SRWJ Rau specifically refers to himself as a Newtype.

That's the thing; while Coordinators outwardly appear to be the Newtype-analogue in SEED, many characters, Natural and Coordinator, exhibit a few Newtype traits like being able to sense one another on the battlefield, brief conversations with the recently deceased, and so on. None of them have been able to work on the level of UC Newtypes, such as telepathy, though.

In Gundam 00, Newtype abilities again persist, though mostly when 00 Raiser uses Trans-Am (Allowing a few characters telepathy and the ability to sense immediate danger), although Innovators have similar Newtype powers (And, apparently, the ability to grant it to others), while people like Allelujah and Marie seem to be analogous to Cyber-Newtypes.

Newtypes are, apparently, a Gundam tradition, just like having a guy with a mask, or Giant Space Lasers.

Wow, just wow.

Just read the wiki for it. I'll possibly check the first ep. I have a feeling I'll either only watch 5 minutes or grab the entire series.

If you like silly shows then by all means go for it. I find it very funny myself.

It's just I'm used to people not going for non-action shows, especially here.

My collection goes from Tenchi Muyo to Patlabour, Bubblegum Crisis to Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Gundam to Kari Kano, Gunbuster to Excel Saga.

When I was still Fan-subbing I worked on shows I liked, and some I didn't. But I always kept an open mind, and have watched a fair number of shops I found to be at best stupid, or at worse total crap.

Suffice to say as far as my anime collection goes, I see it the same way as live-action or even music, I'll get anything as long as I find myself enjoying it, which is why as far as box sets go, The Patlabour movies are on the same shelf as 7 seasons of The West Wing. And Burst Angel is right beside Robot Chicken, Samurai Jack, & Harvey Birdman.
