If Peter Cullen can reprise Prime. What the heck with Frank Welker??? I recently heard an interview where he damn well still sounds bad ass as Megatron. Theres no love for us Decepticons...

I never cared in the beginning. Movie Meg's just doesn't look like it could have "Such heroic nonsense" or "Ah, Yeees." come out of it organicly. :/

No, not really. Most of us didn't think he was gonna get the job in the first place, so it's not really that shocking. We hoped and wished he would, but it just wasn't meant to be.

As much as I love G1, I personally think Hugo Weaving is a better choice. Welker's voice would not fit the movie Megatron at all.

In case you're not kidding, he voiced Megatron in the original animated series.

As per the situation, I'm fine with it, though I do find it odd that the movie and game voices will differ. But, who cares? The fact that Welker's in the game rocks!

I'm a huge Welker fan, but I'm not at all disappointed that he's not Megatron. I might be 'upset' after the film, if Weaving is rubbish, because I do genuinely like G1 Megatron's voice (though not necessarily his character). That said, I'm no movie hater, I encourage change, and I'm not a G1 purist, so I'm nowhere near upset.

I was only ever going to see this film for the script and the voicework. Since I haven't seen the film yet, I can't judge, but I'll let you know on July 5th.
