I was looking for Hammerstrike because I traded him years ago, and now he's $50 on Ebay and BBTS? Then I looked for Night Viper, and Rapticon which were going for more than I thought they were worth.

So have they become a rarity, or it's just BBTS and EBAY jacking up prices?

These are discontinued molds, and although no one was rushing to retail for these when they were available, they have to be relatively scarce now.

I don't think there are a lot of collectors with sealed BM off screen characters, so they may be relatively rare MISB.

Certainly not worth $50 though

I did a Buried Treasure review of Hammerstrike (which unfortunately didn't get used before that feature sort of disappeared under all the RotF...), and while looking through e-bay and other places at pics, etc., I noticed that a lot of those non-show figures were moving up in price (value?). Honestly, while I really liked the show, which puts me in the minority I think, I liked the figures that never even appeared in it the most--Hammerstrike, Night Viper, Longhorn, Quickstrike... Apparently others feel the same way. And, as was already said, it's not like we're getting repaints of these things (although that would be cool...).

I find it interesting that these prices are sort of high for the non show figures. I do collect beast machines and i thought the prices for night viper were just a little too high...but now I see the molds just aren't being used, but Rapticon is a repaint of TransMetal 2 Dinobot right?

Some of the old figures on BBTS have their prices jacked up, like why are some Armada figures so expensive on there when they're loose and incomplete too. As for eBay, you can always find some better deals on there, patience is your friend.

All I could find on Ebay is a loose Rapticon for 39.99, and a Hammerstrike for 49.99. Man they had Battle Punch Optimus for almost $100. I wonder how much is Primal Prime?

Cheapest I've seen Primal Prime go for was just under 100 bucks. That was two years ago when I wanted the figure (I was never able to afford Optimal Optimus as a kid). After seeing how high Primal Prime went for, I settled for a MISB Optimal Optimus for 50 bucks. I wouldn't be surprised if ol' Primal Prime has passed the 200 dollar mark by now though.

I'd love to get a Primal Prime or Optimal Optimus. It ain't a pretty figure by conventional standards(munky critics, blatant kibble issues) but I like the design. It isn't meant to be sleek and sexy, it's a big robot/ape, and I likes it that way.

I like a lot of the Beast Machines figures, I only have Battle Unicorn so far. Hopefully the ones I find out about in the future won't be too expensive on the aftermarket.

I had Primal Prime at one time. I got him from the 2001 Botcon when it came to Durham, N.C.

I just don't remember what happened to him....
