Honestly, the differences between "trance" and "tranz" when put in front of a word like "former" become so small as to be audibly nonexistent for me.
I sincerely never noticed any oddity in how Ryan or anyone says the word, except for in cases when the word is deliberately spoken out of the ordinary like in Japanese media or something.
I'm fairly confident in saying that the word has been spoken as both "Tranceformer" and "Tranzformer" even in official media over the decades, but even then, as I said, the differences between the two have always been barely noticeable as to not really matter at all for me.

This makes me feel much better! I'm sure I've said it both ways before ... which leaves any discrepancy about how I say Transformers down to my Chicago/Midwest accent. Yay!

Some examples of where I can recall hearing both cases would be in Victor Caroli's G1 narrations saying "Tranzformers", and in the 1986 movie when Blurr and Daniel have this exchange:
Daniel: "What should I do?!"
Blurr: "Tranceform! Tranceform! You can do it! You can do it!"
Daniel: "What should I do?!"
Blurr: "Tranceform! Tranceform! You can do it! You can do it!"

Is this really a debate? Whenever Ryan says transformers, it sounds like transformers to me; maybe i'm dumb because i'm bad with the whole dialect thing, but the way Ryan says it sounds "normal",for lack of a better term, and i'm not from the mid-west, i'm from the west coast.

I wonder if there was a specific instance where I accidentally said it incorrectly thanks to being tongue-tied or absent-minded or something along those lines. Or perhaps it was my beer accent.

I don't think there's a debate. I've heard it said both ways, but even the two different ways of saying it are so similar that I'm reluctant to even think of them as "two different ways of saying it".

I think you misunderstood my last statement. I didn't mean "trance-former" vs "tranz-former", but rather did I just say the word wrong altogether as in slurred speech or incoherently?

I guess it's just i'm bad at dialects/accents, most american variations sound normal/the same to me. I think the only ones that stand out are the hardcore east coast variations.

New York/Jersey accents and Southern accents are the two biggest ones that stand out to me.

I think I know what the question asker is talking about...I tend to notice your accent...and I think that's all it is. Now, how to explain it or if I were to try and mimic it, I don't think I could.

Dear Twincast/Podcast/Choosy Question Picker Cast,
I always hear about trans-fans being butthurt about this, that, and the other. Can you explain to us what exactly IS butthurt? I need to know if I have it...
Less thanks than usual due to potential butthurt,

This is indirectly answered in 102 (should be up either midweek or the week after). Hope you don't get too butthurt about it though

Back to the game topic here, would anyone play a fan remake of Transformers: Mystery of Convoy? It's a remake so most likely it's 10x better or 10x worse. Most likely it'll be better.

With the 30th Anniversary coming to a close, what was the highlight, and where did Hasbro/Takara miss out as far as you were concerned?
just to put in my own opinion,
Highlights, Wingblade, Titan Metroplex
Miss out ( may surprise us yet)
super gt ( team Mach with ai)

There were a few highlights for me:
For the 30th anniversary, HasTak decided to create the tallest transformer toy in Metroplex.
Also, Hasbro let us, the fans, create a characterthat is a toy supported by fiction! They may have created the design, aesthetics, etc., but it's still a cool way to bring the fans together.
The biggest, mfor me, was Generations Voyager Springer. Probably one of the most well engineered action figures I've ever had the pleasure to hold and behold.
Missed opportunities? In my opinion, not having a better video game. Rise of the Dark Spark was decent, but mostley dumb. Also, this would have been a great time to make a new Devastator. I know we've got combiner wars coming, but come on...Devastator!

Here's a question both me and Cobotron have regarding the value of G1 transformers and stickers.
Of course, original stickers in good quality will always be most desirable but what is worth more between:
A g1 toy with reprolabel stickers or a g1 toy with faded/incomplete/scrappy original stickers.
Does applying reprolabels to a G1 transformer make it lose value?

Ok, Podcasters:
With Combiner Wars on the horizon, what has changed about the Hasbro's mentality regarding combiners, specifically between what we have now and what we had two years ago, with the Combaticons?
When Bruticus was first revealed, I remember reading/hearing-what-have-you how excited Hasbro was for the new Combination ports. Before then, the only really recent combiners had been PCC figures. The had decent combination gimmicks, and at a smaller scale than the then-current Generations line.
So I guess my question is: how did we go from a decent combination gimmick with the Power Cores, to the mediocre attachment system of Fall of Cybertron, to what we'll be getting here shortly with Combiner Wars?
AND, what do you think Hasbro was thinking with each iteration?
Thanks!

I have my own movie podcast and schedule is key. You want to have some in reserve in case you cant make it one week. And people get habits, you want to make your podcast as easy to incorporate within one's habits as possible. Also, you could imbed youtube videos properly

I have a question that puzzles me greatly regarding third party.
Seibertron himself said that he wouldn't mind if third parties had kept to upgrade kits and I think I understand why. By making an upgrade kit, there is firstly less copyright infringement (you are not stealing a whole character model which is intellectual property), and it requires the purchase of the licensed figure. It's like selling the tools to make a custom job but already done for you.
But I do not know where Reprolabel fits within this question of ethics and legality. They sell stickers that copy the designs found on official products from the 80s. Does Hasbro have a copyright over the sticker design? You still need to have the figure to apply the stickers to it and it is not like they are competing with Hasbro head on since Hasbro doesnt have G1 sticker sheets available for all it's G1 toys. So is it as illegal as a third party making their own figure for a specific copywritten character? Would it be as easy for Hasbro to take Reprolabel to court?
