Nice opening move there Steve, shame you didn't get the win.

I just sold some Shatterblasters due to leveling up some bots past their usefulness. There's two in the weapon store right now up for grabs if anyone wants them!

Not bad for a barely level 4 versus a level 11. Got him to 44% and lasted over 3 min. Lots of exp for me.

Can somebody please tell why the $&*@ I keep losing to Primal Prime's Galvatron? I never beat this guy one on one, and that's no exaggeration. What the hell is he doing that I'm not? How does a pure strafer always defeat my ram/strafers?
And to add to the absurdity of all of this, I have never seen a strafer strafe as much as Galvatron does. Every mission I seen him in, he goes absolutely off. It's insane. It's like he's unlocked a cheat code where his strafe tactic goes nuclear every time.
Honestly, I'm hating this guy right now--especially since this weasel isn't levelling up and I'm getting %^&* all out of these losses I'm rapidly accumulating against him.

Re: Autobot War Room
ooh, Stanformers flashback
Won't pretend to have any top player experience, but I can talk from the code side (assuming it's still basically the same as when I worked on it, which it looks like it is). On that basis...
Only actual difference I see is the RNK 10 vs RNK 9 - is the Tier 10 armour significantly better?
On tactics, with back-of-an-envelope maths, Ram/Strafe is always going to be strictly less good than pure Strafe when foes are evenly matched. At Ram 10 & STR 10 vs END 10, Ram is going to do 21%-30% per turn, while FRP 10 Strafe 10 will do 11%-20% PLUS 5%-10% per additional hit. In a one-on-one, it should typically do about 5 hits, so average in the region of 38% per turn. (It just picks a random character to target per point of Strafe, and then ignores the hit if it's a friendly bot.)
Ram's stun is also a double-edged sword if you have equal STR, as 50% of the time you'll come off worse (I don't know who thought that was a good idea). And then getting hit by Strafe will ALSO add some stun onto that. (Flip side, it also makes you untargetable for a similar time)
Messy system with poor code & design. Someone should really do a balance pass on that

Glyph, thanks for your insight on how these tactics work. It’s very fascinating, and I’d never have thought dual tactics would be worse off against a single tactic like strafe. That’s wild to me. O.0
As far as armour goes, I’ve given 10 rank armour a few tries (nano-regenerative, I think it’s called), and I swear I didn’t benefit that much from it compared to the 9 rank armour (hardened energon) I have currently installed on my team. I felt like I was performing worse in missions, if that even sounds believable. And it annoyed me to no end knowing I’d spent millions of energon on it.
I mean, all I can remember it doing—the 10 rank armour—is saving two to three percent of damage from 10/10 weapons like fusion cannons and gamma ray blasters. That’s it…

Re: Autobot War Room
Yeah, that's all it'll do most likely. AFAIK armour doesn't count against tactic attacks at all and reduces weapon attacks by some % amount per ton. When I last saw the DB, that could be pretty high at the top tiers (it only went up to RNK 8, and those were 7% / 8% per ton!), but I don't know what the current values are - probably been balanced a bit since then.
END 10 will effectively give a flat 50% damage reduction against both weapon attacks and tactics.
Re the dual-tactic alts - yeah, it feels wrong that spending twice the XP can actually make it worse! The problem is that you don't get to attack more often for having multiple tactics, so having two level 10 tactics gives you an equal chance of weapon / good tactic / less-good tactic each turn so you'd only strafe ~33% of the time, while a single-tactic alt would be 50:50 weapon and strafe in the same number of turns.
A lot of these design flaws got lost in the noise when most players were running mid-level bots with many different configs, but they've become a lot more obvious when everyone's 10:10:10:10 in the key stats.

That was Wing It's first mission since I reset him to a strafe/avoider and what a start for him! I've wanted to try out a strafe/avoider for a while now. I fought Bumble's strafe/avoiders many times; they do great. I've seen your strafe/avoiders; they do great. Steve's, too; they do great.
Then Galvatron comes along and beats me regularly... And yeah, it was time I put a strafer on my team.
I'll end up resetting Deflection to that build. I'm just waiting for his alt mode to rotate in.

Avoid isn't great on it's own, but can be a decent tactic when paired with something like strafe. Not taking weapon damage because you've used avoid then making a successful (counter)attack is always good.

Re: Autobot War Room
Yeah, Avoid/Strafe probably has the best synergy of all the combinations - one attack, one reactive defence, they don't get in each other's way and Strafe has the best chance of dealing high overall damage.
