Okay shooting down ideas is all fine and dandy, but could you at least explain why? :?

I don't want or need a mission ending alarm. I don't want a PM, message, pop up, or any type of notification. If I'm paying attention I'm paying attention and I'll know. If I miss it, well, I was probably busy doing something a lot more important at work or school. An alarm is obtrusive, plus I don't want precious coding time wasted on something this trivial.

As for the newsletter, well, again, it seems trivial if this is taking actual dev time away from the actual game. If it's supposed to be community driven, great, so let the community go make a newsletter. I don't want it but I'm sure some people might.

thats why this is only an idea, not something that will be implemented for sure, even though it were implemented it would be totally optional

no offense but I'd be very annoyed if I were to get messages like 'dear RID, your Air Convoy is due to ... in ... mins' all the time

Should I assume that people have skipped over the bit where it would OPTIONAL? ;;)

You know ... you'd have the ability to turn it off so you DON'T receive them?

Me like newsletter idea :) That could be optional too. We could set up some kind of system whereby people state if they want to recieve it or not, and then it will only get dispatched to those that specifically want it! I shall call this grand design, THE MAILING LIST!

Once again i have saved the day with quick thinking, ingenuity and almost ethereal beauty.

Mad props to me.

I'm game for the sound to tone at the end of a mission, basically it would only need to have coded to sound whenever a timer says 'done'. I never use e-mail more than a few times a month so I don't need anything going there..
And, since it's optional, I could have it on when I'm home and off when at work. I was just thinking of this idea over the past few days and voila there's a thread on it..

Sound would be nice but is pretty useless to me if im at work or have music on when im playing. Interesting idea though!

I don't care that's optional. I see this as a complete waste of programming time that could be spent on something that's.... well, actually important.

This is trivial at best and it is complete waste of OS' time. Just because it's optional doesn't mean that someone doesn't have to waste time coding it. I'd rather see the that time utilized in a much better way than some lame mission alarm. This idea is pointless.
