They have three of those four things.

I don't think a unique name justifies "exclusive".
Also, what about store exclusives that end up being available online?
DavidT wrote:Figures are different enough when any part of them is different whether it be color, mold, name, etc. Target's Deep Space Movie Starscream is limited in numbers and all he has is some slightly different colors.
Getter's asking what's the bare-minimum that crosses the line into new figure territory.
Seems again that name doesn't justify your point.
Mold is obvious.
If you're talking color, I'd assume there'd have to be a certain percentage that is considerably different.
Imo, D.S.SS's colors/finish are quite a bit different than the original.

The Name of something can absolutely make it an exclusive. Kind of like Copyrights. Certain companies can only use certain names
The bare minimum can be absolutely anything. Like in Hotwheels, they have light chrome, medium chrome, and dark chrome variations on some of the same cars. In reality, it's up to each individual to determine on their own what the minimum requirement to be different is.
Store exclusive that make it online are still store exclusives. Such as D.S. Starscream. He's only available at Target but you can also get him at Target online. He is still coming from the same source. If BBTS gets him, that just means they purchased him like you or I would and are re-selling him like you or I would on Ebay
Are you the Color Police? Are you the person who can tell everyone the minimum percentage that a color can be different.....No. It's all on individual preference. You may think D.S. Starscream is different enough but others may not. Just like with Botcon & Henkei T.C., Some may think he's too close to the same color and other may not. That doesn't change the fact that Botcon T.C. IS an Exclusive

That's what I'm trying to define. To you BotCon Thundercracker and Henkei Thundercracker are as different as Brave max and Fort Max, So does that mean to you that RID Octane has two figures in the line from Hasbro because the wheel screws representing the hubcap were remolded between waves? Where does the limit end?
