so in other words only TRU is going to have them and since they are going to be the only ones to have them they'll charge $15 per figure, then factor in scalpers so yeah good luck finding these guys in your area. Good job hasblow i hope you enjoy not making money. Good thing i dont care about this line other wise id be pissed. Ok im a little pissed cause there are 2 figures that i want and since walmart isnt going to have them the prices are going to be retarded, i might just say to hell with it and skip this line.

Keep in mind this is the "first edition" pre-normal-sale line, not the regular sale line. I'm imagine when these guys hit the shelves for their normal sale's they'll be in Walmart, Target and all them.

The news story has been updated to clarify that the "First Edition" line will see a limited release. This implies that the main/primary Transformers Prime line will see a full release which makes more sense than what we all seemed to initially think.

That makes A LOT more sense. Still hoping the TRU theory is correct, though. Much rather pay Toys R' Us' 2-3 dollar mark up as opposed to BBTS' 10 dollar mark up. >.>

Let see....

These are First Edition figures.... not "Wave 1" figures so i still see a mass production of prime toys in 2012

What really throwing me off is the release of the First Editions cause i figure they should be release now and not near the release date of the Wave 1 figures in Jan/Feb

LOL megatron is shooting himself in the entertainment pack. It looks like these 'first editions' are just figures that get released now, while the retail versions will come out next year. i hope...

Meh, meh, and meh. Stuck in a preorder while I debate the merits of these vs the Takara versions due Dec 28th. I already have the entertainment pack awaiting ship from Robotkingdom.

Sure the Takara ones are pricey, but you get the better quality, and you get them all in one go (including the Decepticon/Vehicon/Drone thingy) - all's left is Voyager Megs and Starscream then... And zombie Cliffy:-? :-?

I'm not particularly liking the possible quality Hasbro's gonna be offering.... Besides, aren't these LATE? They were due out before C-word? 8-}

Well we knew they would be mass-produced in 2012 eventually, but they kinda let us think that these guys would be readily available by xmas. I'm only planning on getting the first mold of cliff and maybe bulkhead, but the earlier the better, ya know?

The f... I hope this is just BBTS trying to get our money and not actually true, and they'll start showing up at TRUs soon. Good thing I wasn't planning on picking up all of the First Edition toys. Only most of them. #-o

Are they? I haven't heard about that. I pre ordered anyway since the prices are comparable with current retail prices. Tempted just to keep them, hunting and waiting at TRU just makes me sad, and I don't want to go near it any time soon. it's nuts at Christmas.

I am surprised that Hasbro is not launching the line in time to take advantage of the holidays. Are they really going to bank on the half dead Dotm line? seems kinda silly to me...

yeah, i think these figures are only available in the first edition wave. i swear to god if they are. hasblow is not gonna do well on this line. we better be hearing stuff about these toys soon.

My guess is the first edition crap is just slightly different packaging, probably better paint apps, and in the case of the voyagers, the display stands. Everything else should be available in stores because there's no such thing as first edition if there's no second edition to follow.

On topic: Not a smart move by Hasbro. Unlike Generations and RTS, there is a cartoon out right now with these figures that kids love. Kids are Hasbro's money pit, not collectors. Sounds too dumb a move, even for Hasbro. Maybe we should wait for an official statement from Hasbro and not from a middle man who's company benefits from online purchases. >:oP

hey people, keep calling your toys r us stores. see what they say when you ask them about transformers prime toys. mine said to ask again in about a week.

All pre-ordered

. There is no TRU anywhere near here (not too many other stores either). I've got all the Takara versions pre-ordered on BBTS as well. Expensive, but totally worth it. We'll see if any get canceled by me due to being too similar in paint apps etc. (or just being far superior/more show-accurate than the other version), but only time (and the comparisons that will surely come) will tell.

The way things are going, this will be the first Transformers line that I actually get every single figure from (already have both the NYCC and SDCC exclusives).
