Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Yotsuyasan wrote:Re: Scale -- As ever with Transformers, that is a useless argument. By your reasoning of a reboot starting with MP-10, then MP-11 would be part of that and thus should be a consistent scale. My, what a tiny jet he is.
And scale is absolutely impossible to keep consistent once they started doing Soundwave and his cassettes. After all, toys can't mass shift. Unless you're telling me that Soundwave just decided to be a really freaking huge cassette player!
In this case, I think we really can only look at robot mode for scale. And by that, I still think Rodimus and Grimlock fit.
Too late for that. I love my internet argumentsYotsuyasan wrote:Now, I know you and I shall not agree on this. And I don't wish to keep going on about it in a thread that is supposed to be (in part) about MP-22, and not the Masterpiece line as a whole...
The line rebooted mid-stream. They didn't change the whole series, just the approach to these sorts of figures. Technically, Transformers 4 is a reboot, but it's still within the movie-verse continuity.Yotsuyasan wrote:But one more (tongue in cheek) comment before I let it go... If the line rebooted, why is Takara still following the numbering established with MP-1? I don't see other reboots doing that... They didn't call the 2003 television series, "Galactica II: Starbuck's Sex Change," for example.

And regarding the whole "reboot" argument. It is a reboot that started with MP-10 because Takara Rodimus is not Rodimus Prime (wrong colors). The head change gimmick and trailer were bonuses, that's all. That's why he's pink and way too huge to fig in scale with MP-10.
I think Takara will do all of the 84 bots if they can and I do believe they'll figure something out with Shockwave and I do believe a new Megatron is coming.
I've been waiting for this Magnus and always believed it would come ever since I saw that kitbash from that Takara engineer/designer. This is gonna be sooooo cool !

Hi - We've just lowered the price on the MP-22 Ultra Magnus from $289.99 to $279.99 - thanks so much for buying from BBTS!
Thanks!

Actually Grimlock is too small to scale with MP-10 and is more built to scale with the BT line than the 2.0 line. Besides, Takara have specifically gone on record saying that the reboot started with MP-10.

MP10 Convoy was scaled to MP09 Rodimus.

Ironically, the same article speculates whether or not MP Ultra Magnus would be made. Check it out for the answer.
On a related note, just looked at MP10 Convoy, and noticed several tabs and slots already molded in - forearms, hip, front shins.
- The Masterpiece series began as an individual commemoration, but now you are starting over as a standardised series?
Hasui: That is right. This (MP- 10) is not simply meant to be a shrunken remake of MP-1 to match the scale with MP Rodimus Convoy, but a new beginning. I hope this Convoy will lead the characters that will be released in the future.

Ironically you've just proven my point:
He'd be a pretty crappy MP if his articulation were limited. I mean, it goes against the whole idea of MP.Stormrider wrote:Back to the topic - I hope the MP Ultra Magnus incorporates enough movement in the armor so that UM isn't a brick.
