Glad the swiss cheese holes on the forearms got filled in with plastic panels pieces.
Need to see this toy in it's final colors before I decide to buy or not.
Like the big scale of this toy.
Still think the Plastic looks like it uses either shapeways or shampoo bottle plastic. Hoping it's just for the test shot and the final version uses stronger plastic.
Looking forward to the video reviews on this toy.

The cannon is probably useable on either arm (I would imagine). It's not a big deal either way, but I highly doubt that it's exclusive to that arm.

Hmm, good to see the cannon can swap arms.
I may very well get this. He looks to be about Leader Class, so he'd go well with other Optimus Primes we've had (RID Prime, Cybertron Prime, 2007 movie and ROTF Leader Primes). He has a very nice toyetic look to him- he kinda looks like something HasTak themselves would make if they didn't have budget limitations, which is cool.

Looks like they've redesigned it from the ground up... That's not good, he looked pretty damned impressive in those early prototypes, these however are looking pretty bad IMO. Wonder if he's been scaled down a bit

I think there's a lot of give and take between the two versions. First off, the legs on the original were too skinny like MP-05. Also the hands on the new version seem better looking than the previous one. But I think it pays off to take some risks, since the field will be flooded with Megatrons now: CW/Legends, X-Transbots, and Mega Steel to name the more recent versions.

hopefully means he's scaled down to classics scale. he would be perfect for that. want to get him either way though cuz he pulls off both classic megs alt modes plus bot mode very well. will wait to pull trigger

I personally think the original test shot is leaps and bound ahead of this new one in every mode. Strange that they scrapped the original design when they were so far ahead with it.

If it were voyager sized for a Classics/Generations style/scaling, it would be perfect.

Chest shape, torso and leg proportions all look *way* better in bot mode.
I dunno what you can see in the old design by comparison really.
