Retooling Jhiaxus' wings to fit Armada Starscream's swords would probably be a bit much for the Club, no?

And wouldn't it kinda destroy the bat-like characteristics of Jhiaxus's wings to make the same slots on the wings for the swords that Starscream's wing have?

I never said anything about retooling the wings for that. They could always pull a SG Drift anyway

Don't think the sleek racing car form fits the Battle Trap character. Think G1 Battle trap had something similar to a SUV or military hummer type vehicle.

Don't ever recall in G1, That the Duocons were referred to as the muscle in the Decepticons army.

Knowing TFCC, Think calling Botcon Battletrap the muscle. Is a pun on the Botcon toy car body design, as it's known as a muscle car.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting Onyx Primal would be in the box set. He could be an add on or freebie, though.

Yeah, with the new connector ports, they should take advantage and put out some new DuoCons, plus other oddity combiners. (As mentioned before... Omega, Overlord, TidalWave) They'd be cheaper to make, since the limbs don't transform.

How in the world do people expect the Club to come up with Duocons that are actual Duocons in the G1 sense? Those seem like unreasonable expectations right there.

Using Springer & Blitzwing as modern adaptations of the Duocons is fantastic. Of course, I'm all for bringing odd-duck characters into the mainstream transformation fold, but still. That head looks great, and however we get Flywheels (hopefully the box set), I expect him to look great, too.

His Universe bio calls it a jeep while his Dreamwave MTMTE bio (no link, sorry) calls it a 4WD truck.

His Universe bio compares his vehicle components to a "wrestling tag-team" and note that he "has good strength in robot mode".

You can give Starscream convincing enough bat wings just by pointing them the other direction. Fore added effect you can leave the swords on and open them half way.

The swords are far more important to convince me that it's an Onyx Primal toy. Armada Starscream's wings are close enough.

It's not likely that Fun Pub can use MP molds.

If they do Onyx, they have to make sure they print "BOTCON '96 DEALER EXCLUSIVE" on the back of all of them.

Someone mentioned using the RTS Windcharger for Nightracer, but I think a better retool for that mold would be Rook (the 2002 one). The flip out guns could be painted as flip out microphones for when he's interviewing.

Well, Nightracer did previously appear in Transformers: Timelines #9 "A Common Foe" in a body based on the Tailgate mold:

Packrat: Rattrap's a good mould and all, but have no attachment to the character. Though I do like blue. So this is a maybe

Battletrap: I like the idea of turning duocons into triple-changers, and I'm trying to collect as many G1 inspired classics verse figures. Plus Springer rocks. So this is a yes.

Waiting to see what the other three are before I start trying to save serious cash

I really like the idea of updated Duocons, but this isn't what I had in mind.

Finally, a Decepticon from the Springer mold! Just a shame he's part of an expensive convention set. And with me already pouring money into Devastator, Defensor, Ultra Magnus and more... *sigh*

Rook from the first Windcharger classics mold (which was fantastic)... Nightracer from the more slender recent Tailgate. *crosses fingers*

I am digging all the blue this year though...my favorite color. Sadly there is no money for Botcon figures this year. Real life can be such a drag. Uncle Sam didn't give me a refund last year or this year and I had new deductions (still owed money). Go ahead Uncle Sam...misappropriate my tax dollars as that's all you seem to do.
