I wish I knew. Something feels off. I emailed two more Japanese stores last night and got similar responses.

I have two in my POL but I'm reluctant to ship it because of this....

Guys, the 2nd run Lambos are real. The G2 Sideswipe uses the same tweaks as the 2nd run Lambos.
Also, I'm pretty sure the news about the 2nd run came directly from Takara.

Then there is the fact that the KO came out over a year ago, on top of that chimungen has it listed as 2nd run. They no-longer stock KOs of that caliber ever since the owner was arrested and threatened to be thrown in jail if he ever as much as looked at them again.

I'm also pretty sure that Japanese stores do not offer pre-orders for 2nd runs of pretty recent figures. The original 2nd run Megatron didn't get pre-orders, it was simply announced and he showed up, it's the importers that offer pre-orders for second run figures usually.

I got my MP-13 reissue from a Japanese store though. I assumed they'd have MP-12 as well, but they haven't even heard from Takara. That's what I find rather weird.

I (knowingly) ordered the KO Lambor and it comes packaged in altmode in a very official looking box. There are ways to tell the difference before even opening it.

I asked Captured Prey about this release, here's their reply:

They are from a company in China, but they are definitely legitimate. This same company are the ones responsible for working with Takara to do the second runs of MP-10 with the coin and stand, MP-11, MP-08 Grimlock with the coin and sword flames, and the upcoming MP-14 reissue and MP-18 Silverstreak version.

Still think it's kind of weird that the Japanese stores are excluded but I went ahead an ordered one from CP (they are slightly cheaper than the other American stores.) I'm a little uncomfortable paying that much for an MP car but I didn't want to miss out on Sideswipe again. Hope everything about the figure will be tip-top.

Plus, MP Lambor was reissued as a convention exclusive. To be exact it's a special edition, without a faction symbol on the hood.

I agree. Got mine from him too. The reason he was cheap was because of a factory error in the sticker. Instead of it being marked Lambor, it's Tigertrack. I dont mind, I get an authentic rare takara masterpiece for 50$!
