The use of canon names is cheap, especially when some people give them alts that has nothing to do with the original character.

I used to have Wreckage (with a .), but I dropped him for someone more original.

I used to have Unicron, who I gave to someone else. When they left, they lost it, either through donation or inactivity, and I think Shadow Dragon has him now. Poor guy's been a lvl 2 Con on three teams now.

I reserved Tidal Wave for V2, when we finally get battleships.

*shrug* Everyone's got their own opinions on the use of canon names. I've always happened to like to have a few mechs on my team with canon names; I try to keep it to four or less at a time, but there have been times I've had five. I don't mind people having canons with the wrong alts (since the current alt system is so screwy and so many of the alt types stink); It DOES bother me when people have canon names when they're on the wrong faction. (And before anyone says anything, Grimlock has had both a toy and comic appearances as a Maximal, I gave up Optimus Prime and Bumblebee when I switched).

In the past I've had: Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Landmine, Optimus Primal, Bumblebee, Wheeljack and B'Boom.

Currently I've got: Cheetor, Rattrap, Blackarachnia and Grimlock.

I've currently just got Ultra Magnus.

I did have Blurr and sky lynx

Used to have "The Fallen" and "General Scourge".

Now the only canon TF names I have are Cruellock and Lightspeed, which have nothing to do with the canon characters.

Of course, I also have Rest-Q, Small Foot, and Zeemon, but those would be from a different canon.

i have 12 canon

all 5 Terrorcons = how many players have there own full Gestalt?
2 powermasters-which combine
1 triggercon-needed a trigger happy neat freak jet
1 headmaster jr -Blot needed a roommate
2 clones-there is only 2
1 firecon-a monster with brains,not many of those around.

Blurr's the only one that doesn't have the right alt mode... mostly because I needed another rammer... or something.

lol all I got was Quickstrike.

Gigastorm' got Nemisis Prime and Onix Primal though

I've got Megatron and Reflector,I've been kinda inactive lately,but will be active once V2 is up.

Maybe if I finally write a bio for how I see him currently in my team's canon. But I'd give you someone in return fi you wanted.

I have 2.

First one (Astrotrain) I got almost by accident, Soundwave/Sustain wanted to add another origanal charecter to her team, but didnt want any old noob to get the name, so I volenteered to take it.

He has always carried an apropriate alt for his charecter (mainly the steam loco, but latly the shuttle)

The second one (Sixshot) was a concious decission, based on the toy, and his kick ass headmasters charecter. He also wasnt as easy to get. Luckily the Autobot who had the name (Vanguard) was surprisingly happy to let me have it. Then the oops happened. And (probably cuase I happened to be on first to rename my charecter) we BOTH ended up with the name (I think he still carries it).

Sicshot has had some weird and wonderful alts since I got him, partly cuase of the fact he has 6 modes, but mainly becuase I can only find one alt on the con rotation that even vuagly suits him, and it isnt core. Right now he has the Antiair tank, which I think looks spot on for his tank mode.

I have Wheeljack, as he is my favorite from G1... but i'm looking to give him up to a friend that's staying Bot.

And then I have Sunstorm, who is definitely staying with me.

I just have my namesake...

As for my canon characters? I have 5. Razorclaw, Divebomb, Carnivac, Gaihawk and Punch (got me a 'Bot!).

I really wish I had Blades, Dead End and Swoop... I'm willing (sorta...) to trade Carni, Gaihawk and Punch! lol

For a while I had Clocker, Red Alert, and... Armada Wheeljack, ironically enough (I award special brownie points to last poster for their name, btw. AWJ ftmfw! WOO! [/fangirl]), along with many others... Towline, E. Inferno, E. Prowl, etc etc.

Currently I have Raindance, Frostbite and Blaze, but they're obviously in no way tied to their canonical counterparts. I didn't even have the canon characters in mind when grabbing the names, actually.

You could also argue that my TF Aurora has a canon name, given that it was a name of a Minicon in the Armada PS2 game, but I digress...

Ask a stupid question,but what's a canon name and what do people mean "gave my canon away"
