Hey folks, anyone know if Chimungmung are still doing their thang or have they been taken down?

Could just be a glitch but feeling a little worried after KOtoys came a cropper!

as for taobao how the hell do you even register there? ive seen tons of stuff i want from there but cant buy them as i cant understand any of the chinese and google translate is terrible. i cant even see a register option anywere on the page

Nobody that lives outside of China can regester there.

You CAN, however, use an agent to buy things FOR you. Never tried it myself, so outside of that I am of no assistance.

It could just be shut down for Chinese New Year...apparently it's gone away for a couple days before, too.

As for your second sentance, I'll address it thusly: From other posts I've read, you seem to be a working man, maybe even guy with a family. Now at job X I'm going to assume that you put in an outstanding effort to get results. What those results are will vary depending on what X actually is; it could be awesome customer service, brilliant accounting work, top-notch design work, whatever.

Now your company brings on another person to do the exact same area you are. This person, being new, isn't as well paid as you and thus is cheaper to employ, let's say at 70% of what they pay you. That person, seeing how good you are, just decides to copy your results. Now because they're copying your results they didn't go though your procedures and thus the results aren't perfect; let's say they're 90% of what your results are, but that's good enough for your mutual boss who starts commending that new person over you, even though you KNOW that person got there only vby mimicing you. Should tight times come and one of you has to be let go, which will it be? You: whose results are only 10% better than someone the next person; OR the person who achieves pretty much everything anyone wants at 30% less cost to the company?

In most companies in that situation, your ass is toast and the copycat gets the spot

With all the stuff Tony is selling, more so now since he's carrying a lot of items Kotoys had been, I do dearly hope those folk are careful!

Bit of a difference IMO. Apparently it's being run by another big name in the KO business, so who knows? I haven't tried it out, but they seem to have a decent selection.

It's been explained to you before, acestoystore got his stuff from KOToys, because KOToys was his wholesaler, KOToys even had a topic explaining that aces is a good place to buy toys from if you can't pay for their US shipping.

Also, if you look at the website you've been linked to, you'll notice that Acetoy, is KOtoys' new store, they even use the same photographs.

Yes I really do think Prime toys look good. Perhaps when CHMS starts to KO Prime toys, you will enjoy them.

I get the impression that Ace Toy.net is run by the KOtoys owner. The site uses the same basic colors as KOtoys website and many of the pics used are the same as on KOtoys, some of them even have KOtoys watermark.

They also call themselves KOToys in their conditions of use page so....

Yes, I agree that through them people can get some pretty neat decos of their favorite toys, but I wouldn't want another company stealing my IP to make money off of it. The chatter on the fan sites is what will bring these ko companies to the eye of the originating companies, so I would definitely say to talk this site up as much as possible.

According to what was posted in the KOToys forum right before it closed, that site was ripping off KOToy's layout ... and maybe not even really selling anything.

But that was from members, I don't recall GenZao actually mentioning that site himself.

I don't know if anyone has bought anything from that site. I'm not inclined to try it out myself ...

@Swindle - I truly don't understand your love affair with KOToys. I mean, you've been begging them to sell you KOs for about a month now with not a single reply. I felt safe enough going through their store, but I have to admit I'm less than enthused about the idea of dealing with them in an e-mail only way.
