That's too bad. With KO Toys gone that was the best place to find KOs (even though I really only want KO Seekers).

I'd also blame/credit Hasbro (or Takara) for this. It looks like they're finally doing something about KOs.

This site has shut down for a few days in the past. Also remember Tony sells on e-bay too even though I have never been to his e-bay store before. I did a few deals through paypal with Mike of KO Toys even after his site stopped selling KO's. But then he stopped answering e-mails. KO Toys website is actually still up with "under construction" as well. It seems Chimungmung rose to stardom shortly after the demise of KO Toys. And if Chimungmung goes down, I give it 6 months or less and another huge KO site will enter the game. You CANT stop KO's. That's what makes them so awesome.

Chimungmung was around at the same time as KOToys, but with KOToys it was the only game in town. At least that most people know of, there are other KO toy sellers out there still.

Although one of them is also "down for maintenance" and has been for quite soem time now.

There's still Acetoy.net. Has anyone braved ordering from that site yet?

During the operation, the Customs seized 181 boxes of suspected counterfeit toys, including Transformers toy model.

The customs investigation based on the information from the public, find someone using English website selling counterfeit toys to overseas buyers, buyers payment through electronic receivable channels will receive the goods by mail.

Customs officers to take action, has arrested a 37-year-old men and women, and a Tsuen Wan industrial premises and two residential units, from the counterfeit toys as well as two computers.

I actually do feel bad for 'em. They had good service and selection. I had a bit of an issue with one of my orders and he put my mind at ease curteously and quickly.

Of course I did not buy too many KOs from them.

Looks like Ace's Toy Store (the real, working one) has decided to clear the KOs out of their store as well. Glad I got the chrome Seekers while I still could.

It looks like Hasbro is finally cracking down and protecting their IP. Good for them. Hopefully they'll kill off the cheapy $1 KOs that show up in grocery stores and pharmacies too (assuming they've not done so already).

I've bought some KOs in the past, but it's better this way I think. Hasbro needs to protect what they own, and as long as they're not messing with the 3rd parties, it's all good.

So one dealer gets busted and sends another dealer into hiding. Big deal. No Customs operation (US or Foreign) can open every shipping container, every pallet, every box to look for toys. Those boats are the size of oil tankers and hold thousands of shipping containers each the size of an 18 wheeler trailer. Customs has more important things to do like look for drug shipments and human trafficking. Most likely that stuff only got caught because it went on a plane where more crates are actually opened instead of just punctured or swept by dogs on a random basis.

LOL, you're probably right about that, but I figure it could make things more difficult for the online KO shops. I mean if Hasbro wants to, they can shut them down as soon as they pop up because if we can find them to shop there online, then so can Hasbro to shut em' down.

I still think that Hasbro should go after the KOs that you get at grocery stores, dollar stores and such too though. Those things are just as much a violation of their IP as the stuff sold by these guys.

I dont really care about the grocery store KO's. But I dont want to see quality KO's like CHMS get affected. We deserve to have the repaints that Hasbro doesnt think kids will like. They are great molds. I say use em or lose em !

I think the difference there is that they are not counterfeit. In other words, those grocery store/dollar store cheap KOs are usually in vibrant/obnoxious colors. Many of the KOs that I am worried about are molded in the same colors and come in boxes that are nearly identical to the original products. I ran into this a few years ago when I ordered an Encore Metroplex that I was pretty sure was a KO. But it was very, very hard to tell just from the packaging. (And the vendor at the time would not accept a return if I opened the box. Yeah, I never went back to that vendor.)

That's the part of this issue that I struggle with. If it is advertised that a product is not an original, I feel better about it. (Not great. It does make me queasy to have purchased a KO Defensor just because I couldn't affort an authentic one at the time.) So, grocery store KOs don't really bother me. It's the KOs that are trying to fool us into thinking that they are the real things that really bug me.
