As much as I loved the Rock Lords I am frightfull that they would only come out as crap! I think they pretty much tapped out the engineering variety on that. "Oh look another brown rock" My personal favorite was the skinny green one (Like I'd even come close to remembering there names)

Honestly they can make any character they want. But I personally want remakes of the "More Than Meets the Eye" cast. Everything beyond that is gravy. As long as they don't waste time on characters that were nearly perfect the first time. Don't care at all about remakes of characters after Beast Wars. Seems kind of redundant, unless it is a major improvement like Hot Shot. But Dinobot seems pointless since it isn't a big improvement. But whatever makes people happy.

i can accept that the tip of the gun needs to be a bright color but it could be incorporated more into the robot mode. if they did a g1 starscream re-relese they can do the same for megatron just in more neutral colors.

the reason we keep asking for the same characters is because Hasbro has yet to do them RIGHT... all the soundwaves they've done were ok, but none of them are SOUNDWAVE y'know? And I know you can't please everyone, but if they truly did a good version, I think at least most of us would shut up for a while... like they did with MOST of the classics so far... I don't need another Hound or Sideswipe for awhile... the classics versions are pretty definitive in my book

A great idea, but I know exactly how that would go down.
Overlord would be compacted down into a tiny, fragile deluxe ala Galvatron with the Powermaster features missing.
Powermaster Prime would probably be a Voyager, but you would need to send $150 to BBTS for the "fan created" Apex Armor set, since Hasbro would have neglected to include it.

Am I right in thinking we won't be seeing this line (if it happens) until Aug./Sept. of 2010?

Assuming they follow the same release pattern as last time around, we'll have the movie and then in 11 months or so we'll see the next line of figures, whatever that will be.

I base this on the release was July 4th 2007 and sightings of Universe wave 1 started around mid-june.

Of course there's that grey area where they repainted a bunch of A/E/C/Classic figures and tacked them on at the end of the movie line for a couple months.

On a related note, did you ever consider picking up music label soundwave? I got him for about $40 (pricy, but not insanely so), and he is a perfect-looking soundwave to fit in with my classics. Just a thought, since I don't know that we'd ever get another "tape deck" looking Soundwave.

thought about it, but I don't need the mp3 player part so I'm not paying extra... now if Hasbro picked up the mold minus the electronics like a lot of people are hoping (though we shouldn't hold our breathes) I'd be happy... in the mean time I'm relatively content with my titanium soundwave (flimsy though he may be)

Sorry I just no not understand why you would want ML Soundwave with out the electronics.

I have him with the headphone set and it's simply awesome. I don't use him as a MP3 player as I have a better unit for music. But he is set up with a card containing the original Movie soundtrack for the heck of it.

I'm sure that if it was to be released by Hasbro, then we would see a couple reactions.
-- If he has the electronics, than we'll have people complaining that he costs more. (Regardless of people paying hundres for a handful of figures at Botcon, or people willing to pay up to twice as much for Japanese releases of figures on a regular basis.
-- If he is neutered, than people will either conplain that "Japan gets better stuff" or "why wasn't he retooled for cassettes?"
-- And either way we will still get people complaining that we don't have a proper Soundwave.

My two cents: I currently have, my original G1 Soundwave, the Japanese bookbox rerelease SW, Cybertron SW, Animated SW, and Music Label SW. I would have bought Titanium SW had my local TRU got any of them, and I will likely buy any other SW that is put out in the near future. Yes even if the club puts out the SG/Universe SW from the recent comic, i'll shell out for that (Thou I hope it has the Cold Slither logo on it, that just rocks)

If you like the character, be glad that he has gotten as many releases as he has, compared to characters who have barely seen any if at all. Stop worring about HasTak getting "It Right" because there is no way short of just rereleasing the original figure than that can happen, and oh yhea, the original has been rereleased three times in the past decade.

Not exactly. Getting it right would consist of making a fairly accurate, detailed, highly articulated version of the original. You know with knees that actually worked the right way.

There will always be complainers. That's the nature of the hobby. I mean look at Diem, he is complaining because he wants the less popular characters made. Of course those aren't made because they are kind of risky since they are after all less popular. No matter how perfect you make things someone somewhere will find something to complain about. But if you can keep the majority happy you're doing pretty good.

Yep, figures like Cyclonus are so good that the majority are kept happy. If they made a Trailbreaker, or (*sigh*) Wheeljack or (*SIGH*) Soundwave that was near-universally loved and dare-I-say definitive, then even I wouldn't be able to complain.

Hmm...is there even such a thing as a definitive figure?

Considering the movie line is being released in some countries, and others leaked, that would suggest the Has/Tak engineers are well and truly finished with those moulds. Does that mean that they are working on a potential Classics 3.0/animated season 4 right now? I know nothing has been confirmed, but they must be doing something...
