I made this custom for the "In Honor of Vector" contest over TFW2005. It's made from a RID Optimus Prime. Ladder was replaced by Cyb Defense Red Alert's rocket to make the vehicle mode a rocket transporter/carrier. Color scheme for Magnus is based on Vector's Alt Magnus custom. Ultra Magnus is of course based on G1 colors. I also modded the chest to make it look more Ultra Magnus and replaced the head with a Hydrospanned (and modded) Energon Superion head. Oh, you may notice some of the pics of UM lacks the yellow highlights. I added the yellow after I took the initial pics.

Edit: Saw a base mode for the RID OP on TFU so I played around with it and came up with base/rocket launch pad mode. Pics below.

Very cool. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Super Robot head is that of Energon Superion Maximus with a few mods right?

Awesome, always thought Hasbro should re-paint that Prime into Magnus. maybe retool the back section a bit into a car carrier. The Armor portions over the Cab is a great upgrade to the G1 deal. Where the white Prime cab would be placed inside the car carrier armor.

Yup, that is correct. The head is from E. Superion. The original E. Superion head is too small though so I had to enlarge it with Hydrospan.

I'm not really digging the rocket, and I'm racking my brain to think how to make the back section more car carrier-like.

Very very awesome outcome though. Definitely a great upgrade to a classic character.

Dammit, now I need another RID prime :-)

Ultra Magnus indeed. I love what you did with this figure. The chest remold looks great (would really like to know how you did that), the paint job looks verry much like G1 Ulrta Magnus, and does that Rocket actully come off or is it glued on? And you said that's Energon Superion's head? Doesn't look like it.

The Magnus mode I don't like too much but I'm a fan of the cartoon, the Magnus mode doesn't exsist to me so I don't think I'll ever like it. (Unless someone makes a Magnus that's not just a white cab with some blue highlights, it looks too bland and boring.)

For the chest, I dremmeled (cut) off the top portion of the original chest (Prime's chest), placed a styrene sheet to replace what I dremmeled off and glued some pieces on there to make the chest more G1 Magnus like. The Rocket can still be removed and can still makes lights and sounds (firing sound) when removed. Yep, that is indeed E. Superion's head. Enlarged of course and "ears" added. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of regular Magnus mode either but the G1 toy had it so I added here too.
