I don't know if I was in a funk-a-dee mood when I opened him, I was pretty dang tired, but I just didn't feel THAT excitement. Like the excitement I felt when I tore into Nemesis Prime, or some other things I've gotten recently. And as I started to play I was a little underwhelmed by Ape-o-tron's use of the evolution gimmick.

But, as I sat and played with him to shoot these shots I started to warn up to him. My head started to make up little stories of how and why. I got to thinking about way back, there was at time when Bruce Banner and the Hulk were separated. Remember grey Hulk? What if through some wired Beast Machiney sci-fi munblety jumb The bot, Optimus, was separated from the beast, Primal?
They were two separate entities, but to make use of their full might, they had to combine together. Optimus still maintained a mechanical alt mode, the surf board space log, while Primal contained nothing but the raw strength and fierce energy of the beast. Optimus was made of the stuff Optimus is always made of. Heroism, reasoning, and compassion for all life. Primal was pure rage and brute strength. PRIMAL SMASH! Kind of a Jekyll and Hyde scenario.
But when the hour grows dark, through the power of the Matrix, the two combine them selfs and their skills to optimize both sides of the coin.

NOW WE'RE GETTIN' SOMEWHERE!!!
Now I'm into this toy!


Optimus alone is a pretty week toy, but he is just one part of the bigger picture. Not a terrible action figure, but no Nemesis Pax.

Wielding those blasters as billy clubs is stretching it, even for me. So I turned to what was buried in the past to seed the future.



Now we're doing it!

I think part of my hang up came from knowing almost immediately that this Op Op couldn't even hold a torch to the awesomeness that is the original Transmetal toy, but given a minute and a sprinkling of head canon, I turned around real quick. Boil it all down to brass tacks and you're left with a real fun toy!

And I haven't even broken out the throne!

Yeah, It was a long time ago, but they did a whole run of the Hulk where Bruce and the Hulk were split, but I think it left Bruce in a wheel chair. Hulk took all the physicality, while Bruce was left with the brains. Of course in the end they were rejoined because they couldn't survive apart.The two halves had to be whole.

Nice story for your throne primal there cobo though I prefer professor hulk as my hulk, brain and brawn Awesome pics as usual and I do like the lio convoy that Takara put out using the alpha trion mold.

I can confirm that it is Leo Prime. A target exclusive (I think) repaint of Cybertron Leo Breaker.

He does combine with Cyb Op, but I don't have any pics of that.
