I already hadn't planned on picking up Blitzwing, so maybe Megz would do for me & this mold.
As for Optimus, I currently only have a one-step RID and my MPP10 (MP KO), and could use some representing....but was originally thinkin of waiting for the Ginrai release in the US!
Wait on those boxsets. You'll get a leader Ginrai and a voyager G2 Prime. Plus, I'm also anticipating a Godbomber to be released in one of the boxsets and a Flywheels was rumored, and I think he may be the Megatron mold in one of the remaining boxsets
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please! Wanna talk? Or Rollerblade? Click below and head on over to the D-Max Den!!

Honestly, I'd say the biggest reason to hold back from getting Megatron is if you want to get Blitzwing and you don't want the two looking alike on your shelf. Otherwise, friggin' go for it dude; it's an amazing toy!

That's fair, yeah. Honestly if I had the choice I'd be making a beeline for MMC Tyrantron... now that's a delicious figure. But even then I'd just put TR Megatron in a normal Decepticon group shelf instead of MTMTE.
Actually... talking of Decepticon displays, here's a question for you all. We all say that we want a Voyager Seeker to work in scale and maybe even a non-cybertronian Voyager Soundwave and all that, but... have we ever considered going all-deluxe for a Season/year 1 Decepticon display? We've got deluxes of all of them. FoC/Music Label Soundwave (not to mention that KFC one), FoC Shockwave; I could be here all day listing off all the Deluxe Seekers and Megatrons we've gotten over the years... even the Legends Insecticons could work being that much smaller, and due to mass displacement in everything Titan Devastator still kinda works.

You bring up an interesting point cause I've never really given the Seeker scale much thought. I would like a more traditional looking in bot mode Voyager scaled Soundwave and now that you've brought it up the Seekers would be the same height.
All deluxes work with legends quite well actually. Even though they seem to be on the small side the WfC/FoC line look nice together and I'd imagine the TR Insecticons would blend right in.
For the most part I keep the WfC/FoC figures segregated from the rest of my collection. Blaster is the only figure that has crossed over to hang our on the Lost Light shelf. I much prefer the non earth Cybertronian look that the WfC/FoC and TR is giving us. Food for thought indeed.
Now lets talk about this TR Meggy. That's a damn fine figure with a terrific head sculpt. I've seen it several times and I had to really kick in my Jedi resistance. The grey looks a little weird but the biggest offender to me are the jarring contrast of the stickers. A pic of TR Megs and Roddy sold me. I'm saving that mold for Blitzwing but if I see a sale on Megatron I'll jump! Voyager really is just the right size for him.
Scale is a fools errand and sometimes I'm that fool. I've got a real hodge podge of Megatrons and the TR version would work very well. The triplechanger aspect doesn't even bother me as both modes work for various incarnations of the character and I could see Megs going that route. It really is just a matter of space and money and lets be honest, they'll be no shortages of new Megatron figures in future lines.

The stunticons and combaticons are year one right? If so, then by default, you need that voyager scale for a nice team. Plus i like seeing height diversity. You have the legends like the insecticons (which I feel would be too big if Megs is a deluxe), the deluxes for the combiner limbs and (ideally) voyagers for the rest.

That unpainted grey is what makes that tank look like a tank and not a clown car

Stunticons/Combaticons are G1 Season 2, and 1986 in toy years! It's funny Kurona brought that up, I was thinking sorta the same thing!! Unfortunately I've sold off a lot of those figures I had for that display..

Ah, ok then, I never watch G1 in order. So yeah, all deluxe cast works (and it was initially the goal of the generations line).

In fact, excusing combiners; pretty much every 1984-86 'con is available in that Deluxe scale (making room for Legends-scale cassettes and insecticons) aside from Blitzwing. The Galvatron trio was all deluxe, Octane was too; Astrotrain, the coneheads...

You are correct! I'm fairly certain there's a few different combos to have all of G1 S1/S2/S3 as deluxe/voyager. What a time to be alive!!

Meooooow
Then a peaceful calm spread across the Savannah.
But not for long!
One by one they came.
We will discuss poor Leo Convoy's droopy old face in a bit.
The Animal Kingdom was turned on it's ear by the party that followed. A party of KINGS!
WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
And even more bros came to get down.
Hay goiys, kin I clum toots da pahr-dee?
RECORD SCRAAAAAAAAATCH
NO!
Ooooooh. Uum koi.
And the Kings raged on. Til the mother scratchin' ever lovin' br-br-br-break a dawn!
Cobs, what happened to Leo Convoy's face?
Well I was trying to cast a relaxing mode on night so I lit some candles. One candle was on the table next to the TV. Leo was posed on top of the TV. Over the course of about 4 hours the low heat rose and was just hot enough to slowly slag his face. I was so sad when I discovered it, my face looked just like his. Not one of my proudest moments in collecting history.
So this new Leo Prime is kinda extra special to me because he replaces and updates that old Convoy in my collection.
