A new Tron for the 'Tron

Excuse me! Sir? You can't park that thing here.

I was just leaving this miserable rock.

Oh the leather.

Peace out! SUCKAAAAS!

You know me. Easy-to-Pleaseotron. He's great!
Fun and easy to transform. Awesome to have a Galvatron update that turns into what he's sposta. Neat design and a nice sculpt. Colors are good. Silver/Grey palstic has a nice sheen. Head gimmick is fun. Nucleomegatron is cool. The Masters are teeeeeny. Head locks in good, and with the mask can at least slightly turn side to side. Good enough. I still wanna sip a mimosa out of that cannon barrel. Both alts are cool. Love the spaceship. It has that classic feeling of a TF spaceship alt of old. Like OG Brainstorm, or Cyb Vector Prime. It flys in space. Doesn't have to be aerodynamic. Just has to look cool.
Quality? Big concern of late. His construction is good. All the joints are good. Soft ratchets feel good and do their job. Nothing feels like it's going to snap off. Pegs and slots hold. It's just the plastic. It's not what it used to be. But it's the same as CW. If your not used to it/over it by now. It's on you. Let it go. It's a toy robot. Have fun. Happy little trees.
I'm happy. And excited for more Titan Master Action! BLAMMO!
Oh! This IS nice leather.

I'd get over it, but it's how I lost out on $90 worth of Ultra Magnus', so... no, I'd be doing a disservice to myself if I let it go
#foreverbitterThat said, I don't hold it against the line, nor will it keep me from getting the figures I want (save maybe pmop, because F that mold and plastic), does the mask look off to you at all, the picks you posted actually made it look kind of natural, and he's been on the cusp of my want it/don't want it list for a while... I need you to make my decision for me so that I can blame you for it

Gentlemen. I raise my Mimosa to you both!
Then you're dealing with it in your own way. I'm glad it's not a deal breaker. I don't blame you for having apprehension towards PMOP. I'd feel the same. In fact I handle my Tak Mags with the utmost care now, due to your experience. Those tabs were just plain done poorly.Hellscream9999 wrote:I'd get over it, but it's how I lost out on $90 worth of Ultra Magnus', so... no, I'd be doing a disservice to myself if I let it go#foreverbitter

Not gonna lie. I tried to shoot him at an angle that looked good. SO at the right angle... But ya, it's not perfect. But I don't hate it. When a toy is a toy my expectations are mild. When a toy is a Masterpiece they are high. There may have been a better way, but I can just use my imagination to blur it out. So it really isn't a thing for me. I was just pleasntly suprised they were able to squeeze any movement out of it at all.Hellscream9999 wrote:does the mask look off to you at all, the picks you posted actually made it look kind of natural, and he's been on the cusp of my want it/don't want it list for a while...

With these issues, I've just come to terms that it's the current state of the nation. Can't let it ruin my fun. It is what it is.

Yeah, I just wish they had done the mask like a helmet - ya know, like all the other headmasters that got that same treatment - it would have looked more natural and cooler. I like the of him in general, but I might wait until I see Ryan's galleries to make a real decision on him

Has your recent distaste for Hasbro products been deluded by the fun stuff this line has to offer?
Also Cobo, if the plastic is like CW then its fine. I just hope we never go back to that FOC plastic. For the life of me I cant understand how someone can hold that FOC Starscream or Shockwave and think "this feels like a quality toy". I also found many generations figures before CW to be made of really shoddy plastic too. Like Windblade and Scoop. You can tell they changed something to that plastic after that because retools, like Slipstream, feel so much better. I am totally fine with this platic. I also really loved the plastic used on the AOE voyagers.

I like the masterpiece plastic the best. Except for Ironhide's thumbs. I saw a scoop at a flea market and he had a broken leg and the front half of his head was gone

Oh yeah, MP Plastic is awesome, but I was comparing standard retail toys to compare apples with apples. And if you dont own Scoop, you arent missing out. He's not bad, just very average. It always seems like people just want the G1 toys with better articulation but you realize with Scoop that the idea is better in our minds because the result ends up dull and predictable even when done as well as possible.

Oh. Yeah I almost paid $32.99 for him at a comic shop and then decided not to. The best quality retail plastic would have to be AOE voyagers and leader, combiner wars Megatron and So far Titans return Hardhead

Last I checked, both Amazon.com and BBTS had Scoop for super cheap. Like, below 10 bucks cheap.

I feel the heft those toys had is also because the idea behind the transformations were different back then. Most of those bot modes were solid parts of the vehicle but at a different angle and serving a different function (like Cybertron hotshot, Downshift and the Cybertron Seeker mold). Today's toys with vehicle modes have more panels and they look less like they are made of the alt mode and more a robot hidden by alt mode parts. Well thats what the movie toys were. Scoop is more like those more old school transformations but without the good plastic feel to back it up (so I guess what I just wrote was pointless, oh well).
