Wondering which Fem Bot will be chosen as the leader and torso of the Combiner. Speculating it will be Windblade. Using a repurposed CW Silverbolt toy.

CW Chromia will probably use the Legends grove toy.

CW arcee might use a CW Stunticon toy.

Going to be weird seeing newer update toys for Arcee, Windblade and Chromia. As they got new toys last year.

Hoping the HasTak team will be able to turn one of the CW toys into a water vehicle for Nautica. Would be wrong if they gave Nautica a new land or air vehicle.

Given that Arcee, Windblade, and Chromia will be fighting this new combiner in Combiner Hunters, I don't think the current crop of female bots will be part of the toy.

EDIT: Took another look at the solicits and the USA Today article. It seems to show the three fighting a combiner, but all we know is that Victorion will be "unveiled" in this issue, so there could just be one page at the end showing off the fan built combiner.

Oh god....

Now we'll need to brace for the eventual "Victorion Secrets" meem and photoshops that will great their release.

Give Hasbro a break. Nothing they've done in the past... 3-4(?) years has been lazy. Instead of getting simple repaints we get retools, reshells, and HEAVY retools. They deserve a little leeway I think.

I have never undestood the hatred of repaints. I mean, if you don't like them then just don't buy them. I fully expect the Victorion members to be heavily retooled anyway. I do hope they look at least somewhat feminine, but I don't need them all to look like Charming Drossel. As long as they have nice headsculpts I'll be happy.

That said, if we do get a CW Piranacon I hope they make Tentakil a fembot if only because there is precisely zero chance of us getting a Scylla. I'd ideally like her to be somewhat curvaceous, which should be fairly simple for a squidformer.

(Of course X wouldn't be whining if the repaints were slavish G1 homages...)

If Alpha Bravo is any indication of how they plan to create these new characters, Im not expecting anything groundbreaking. Im expecting something along the lines of FOC Ruination minus the homage value.

Given the fact that we have bruticus, the technobots, the fan built combiner and seemingly a wave of assorted autobots, it seems highly unlikely there will be a predaking, abominus or piranhacon. I know we like to be hopeful, but until hasbro announce the extension past 2016 of this line Im not going to assume.

And given how butthurt and whiney Mr X is, I wouldnt expect him to be positive about anything short of every G1 character with MP quality, released for $5 each and every week until he is satisfied.

I was going to say, in response to a lot of worry about this, with retooling you could easily make the CW figures feminine, Tracks/Road Rage showed that. sharing a transformation type doesnt mean lazy repaint.

Also think HasTak went above and beyond with their Combiners wars repurposed toy line. Some of the retools and repaints are so extensive that parents and kids can't tell if there new or old molds.

This Alpha Bravo toy hate obsession has officially reached the scary, creepy levels. Even more sadistic is buying a toy you hate, then subjecting it to cruel torture mocking pics and crude jokes.

Think it's silly talking about how a ideal Transformers Fem bot toy should look like. As they don't even have body parts that resemble Earth women.

Building up hate and negativity for figures that have yet to be shown makes no sense. Even more sad is fighting with other members over this and ruining threads.

I feel the need to stand up for Cannonball. He is an awesome looking, fun new character created via clever use of repainting. They could have simply repainted that Red Alert toy as a regular rescue vehicle type character, but they chose to make a space pirate with neon green skeletons on him. Haters gonna hate and Cannonball's just gonna keep being awesomeness.

Also, I'm confused about the nature of female transformers in the IDW/Generations toy lines. Unless I am mistaken Arcee in this continuity is the first female transformers and she was made female through experimentation by Jhiaxus. So, then, what's the continuity issue with all these new ladies?

Heard the CW Autobots wave Five Combiner has a June July 2015 release

Thinking CW Computron and CW Technobots will get released near September or October 2015.

Think 2016 will have HasTak release CW Predaking, CW Abonimus, CW Seacons and maybe CW Dinobots.

Thinks mold sharing between the CW beast bots toys should be easy and similar. to what is currently doing with the vehicle bots CW toys.

After millenniums separated from Cybetron proper, the population evolved and accepted the concept of gender in society. Granted what that means is a little vague in that it could mean they understand the concept of gender, yet have no sex, however dimorphism soon followed. Or alternatively, there is sex and gender, with dimorphism. It could go any way really.

It seems most likely the former. There does not appear to be any concept of sex as we know it in the IDW continuity. Reproduction is accomplished through Vector Sigma or the Matrix.

In the IDW continuity Cybertronians are created through two confirmed methods: they are either "Forged" or "Constructed Cold." Also to be fair, it happens eventually in transformers mythos, especially with the implications of sex in beast wars, joke or not. Though it could, of course, be merely recreational rather than reproductive.

Sort of, in that spotlight arcee, while an interesting experiment kinda threw a monkey wrench into the mythos development that's only being worked around now. But yes, it is still acknowledged that arcee was a genderless robot that went through forcible sex change. Granted Jhiaxus introduced gender to the species from a malevolent curiosity about what would happen. The depth of the change in this case is unknown; is it limited to appearance and mentality or does it go deeper? If he was truly trying to see how females would affect the evolution of the species it is possible Arcee was created with the capability for some analog of sexual reproduction in mind, but given his abandonment of the experiment and Arcee's resultant unbalanced mental state it seems unlikely the depth of the change will ever be explored.

Quick cheat sheet, compiling the responses so far (with the comics appearances in brackets):

- Arcee is Cybertronian, gender was changed/forced by Jhiaxus (unsure as to whether they were male prior to that - not addressed). That is still the case. (Spotlight: Arcee)
- Windblade, Chromia, Nautica are Camiens (from Caminus), a pre-war section/colony of Cybertron who has at least male and female genders. (late Dark Cybertron, Windblade mini, MTMTE post-DC)
- Nickel is the latest addition, from Prion, and currently under the aegis of the DJD. (MTMTE#39)
- Six more will be introduced, as per the latest news in this thread. (Combiner Hunters)

Actually I'd forgotten about that point in #21, I was thinking about more recent issues, but can't reference which without going over and re-reading the last dozen.
Point being, that Pre-Nova's reign female transformers existed and due to the eons without them on the planet, they'd become somewhat of a myth.
We're sidetracking onto symantics, though.

I'm looking forward to the next reveal of these so we can see the actual figures.

Don't think the Six CW Fem Bots are going to be newer characters. That we've never heard of before.

Think they might be iconic fem bots from through out the ages of the Transformers brand. Like Elita-1, Nightbird, Blackarachnia, Strika. Arachnid and Moonracer.

Think the CW Fembot combiner will be a mixture of Autobots and Decepticons females.
