The Energon Pub

I need a good amount of Energon Cubes and wondered if anyone has tried to make home made accurate looking Energon Cubes? I came across these clear Amac boxes that come in quite a few sizes. I was thinking of using the 1" sq x 3/4" cubes. I want to fill them with liquid and use some type of clear drying glue to permently seal them. Just in case they do end up leaking, I was thinking of a liquid along the line of snow cone syrup, plus the thickness of it will play well with imitating Energon. I guess I'll make 20 with Cotton Candy syrup for that G1 look, 20 with Grape Soda syrup for that Dark Energon look and I guess 20 with orange syrup could look great too. In the end after all expenses I'm looking to be into each Energon Cube for $1.25 which sounds great if they turn out well. What are your thoughts on this? Has anyone here tried this? It would be great to learn from any of your mistakes. In general I think it's a great idea but wish I was working with a 1" cubed plastic container but I guess these will have to do.

There's an acrylic place near my house I've been meaning to go to and see if they're able to custom cut a bunch for me. I figure .75" pink cube would do the trick, but I don't know what the cost would be.

Not pink but as close as I could find at the same place.

I'm using colored glass aquarium cubes.

They have a shiny finish and are solid, no crafting or gluing necessary.

Not quite as square on the edges as I'd like, but I got a pile of them for cheap at the craft store.
