Shockwave's Tower - Main Hangar

Lifting off from the floor of the Hangar, Astrotrain activated his main engines and flew out of the huge bay. Ferrying the Constructicons from Kaon to the Tagan Heights wasn't exactly his first choice of assignments, but he didn't really lament not being included on the mission to attack Omega Supreme. I'm sure the fireworks'll be great, but Pit...I bet someone goes home in a crate at the end of it all.

"All right, Trigger," the transport acknowledged Triggerhappy. "Looks like we either got real lucky, or we're missing out on a great Decepticon victory. Oh well. I'm not gonna question orders on this one."

He flew alongside the gunner, plotting the quickest possible course for Kaon.

En Route to Sector 905

Though his massive ray gun mode lacked the sleek elegance of a Seeker's tetrajet form, there was a certain brutal majesty to Shockwave's design. Nothing conveyed nearly limitless power like a gun barrel capacious enough to swallow up a Minibot, and there was no no question that there was something undeniably dramatic and terrifying about Shockwave's form. Perhaps it was the fact that so many Autobots - and the occasional Decepticon - had met their untimely ends at the business end of the ray gun. Though hardly a glory hound, Shockwave would not object if the last thing Omega Supreme saw before his deactivation was the flare of lethal energy in the muzzle of his alternate mode.

The ground cascaded past beneath Shockwave as he flew at rooftop-level over his city-state, closing the distance between himself and the Autobot Sentinel with a breathtaking speed belied by his less-than-sleek alternate mode. He opened a coded comm channel to the aerial units, heavily encrypted to thwart any Autobots who might be attempted to eavesdrop.

[i]>>"Cyclonus, Sixshot, Starscream...commence attack. Draw the Sentinel into Sector 905 via grid vector 3431-Delta-34."
Near Sector 905

Hearing Shockwave's order for the aerial units to attack, Dunehopper let out a joyful whoop and ignited his afterburners.

"Here we go! Time to show these Sweeps that they ain't nothin' compared to the Seekers!"

Taking the order to attack an Omega Sentinel as an opportunity to defend personally the cause of the Seekers rather than as the near-suicide mission that it really was, Dunehopper armed his firestorm bombs and swooped down to mere meters above the rooftops of the dense cityscape that was Polyhex. Of all the Seekers, he was among the best at low-level flying, and he put his skill to good use now. His targeting computer achieved a lock on the huge Sentinel quite easily, and as Dunehopper sped forward at nearly three times the speed of sound the huge, looming figure changed from a speck on the horizon to a towering monstrosity in no time at all.

Once in range, Dunehopper released the firestorm bombs and then pulled up sharply, going almost completely vertical as he hit his engines again to avoid running smack into the Sentinel. The extremely volatile liquid in the bombs ignited the nanosecond they hit Cybertron's air, and intense flame filled a nearly half-mile radius centered on the Omega Sentinel.

"YEEEEAH! First strike to the Seekers!"

En Route to Sector 905

Onslaught picked up Blitzwing's request as he rumbled along the highways of Polyhex. Though he preferred to restrict communications traffic to a minimum during sensitive operations such as the one upon which he was presently embarked, it could not be disputed that the Triplechanger's firepower would be a welcome addition to his strike team. As such, the Combaticon's reply was concise, free of implicit or explicit rebuke, and trebly encrypted to prevent any Autobot eavesdroppers from deciphering its meaning. At least, not quickly enough to make any difference.

>>Affirmative, Blitzwing. Join the bombardment unit en route.>And not an astrosecond too soon, Shockwave,>Remember to keep your speed down as you pull away,>The idea is lure the giant rust bucket into range of the big guns. And I doubt even he is stupid enough to try following us if we withdraw at Mach 3.<<

"Affirmative" Nightraid said. "I am ready to depart" the tactician said. He glanced at Scramble than back at Quantum. As leader Quantum had to lift off first as he'd take point of the squadron. The black and red Seeker gave his two comrades a salute while speaking.

En route to Sector 905

Heap, all weapons active, trailed behind Onslaught. He never thought he'd see another Omega Sentinel, and the appearance of the behemoth did not stir up good memories in the old Cybertronian. However, he wasn't about to complain; bringing up his feelings towards others always led to questions Heap was unwilling to answer. For now, he would focus on blasting this "Omega Supreme" back into history.

As his treads whined at the excess of speed Heap was forcing on them, he couldn't help but think he'd be joining the Sentinel soon.

Leaving Polyhex

As they flew along, Astrotrain found himself intrigued by Triggerhappy's statement about Hook. He wasn't quite sure if the gunner was joking or serious, but had to ask nonetheless.

>>"Oh yeah? What kind of thing are you looking for?" the Triplechanger asked. "Maybe he can get it for you. All I know is, the guy's a real pain in the aft if you ask him for a favor. Believes he's Primus' gift to the Decepticon Empire. Guy builds a few fortresses and battlecruisers and all the sudden he thinks he's the fraggin' Emperor of Destruction. Or Emperor of Construction, I guess..."<<

The two airborne Decepticons streaked toward Polyhex's border, course set for Kaon.

As the mass of Predacon vehicles tear their way through the Cybertronian expanse, the sounds of battle do not escape Razorclaw's auditory sensors. The drill tank module slows to a halt, assesing the various new factors of battle data that were now streaming in to his logic circuits. This, of course, practically causes Tantrum to ram in to him from behind. Only sharp instincts prevent the collision. Divebomb soars past all of them overhead.

"We waitin'?" Tantrum rumbles.

"I am," Razorclaw replies calmly but with the requisite level of authority that had kept him the dominant figure of this particular pack. "The rest of you, choose your marks. When I see an opportunity for a coordinated strike, you will know it."

"Slag yeah," Headstrong growls, having barely waited to let the words finish leaving his commander's vocal processors before roaring forward. Razorclaw had little doubt that Tantrum and Rampage felt the same...rush. He would be lying if he denied it himself.

Transforming, Razorclaw brandishes his sword, climbing to a better vantage point as Headstrong, Tantrum and Divebomb surge past him.

Cyclonus watched as the seekers began their attack. There attacks were disorganized and flashy, much like the seekers themselves were. It was probably fortunate for them that they were trying more to herd the giant Autobot into a trap and not directly take him down. Flashiness would probably help grab the giant’s attention. Still, he wasn’t going to simply be satisfied with taking random potshots at the Guardian and drawing his attention in the process.

The air commandant sent instructions to his accompanying Sweeps. The two squadrons broke off from each other and approached the Autobot from opposite sides in a pincer like maneuver. The two squadrons opened fire with their lasers, targeting the giant’s joints in hopes of penetrating the weaker armor there. As he flew over Omega Supreme, Cyclonus dropped a few incendiary bombs on his back and behind him to try and urge him forward.

Sixshot hung back and watched as the seekers and sweeps struck the Autobot. He was willing to observe his opponent for now, as it also granted him the opportunity to watch his allies in battle. He was particularly interested in seeing what Shockwave was capable of, if he did anything at all. He seemed much more a thinker and strategist than a warrior, although he suspected he was apt at fighting as well. He had claimed to be able to take down Sixshot at any time, so he would watch the other Decepticon and find a way to be able to take him down at any time, just so he wouldn’t have that advantage over him.

Omega Supreme had spotted the incoming Decepticon fliers long before they began their attack. He was under orders not to attack unless the Decepticons broke the ceasefire first, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t be prepared. As the first seeker launched his attack on him, he was already signaling the nearest Autobase in Nova Cronum about the situation.

Dunehopper’s bombs detonated on and around the giant Autobot and he was consumed in flames, yet once the flames and smoke cleared, he still stood. His armor was slightly blackened in spots, but he was otherwise unharmed. Starscream followed up with his cluster bombs. Their impacts caused him to stumble forward a bit, with the ground shifting beneath his feet from the explosions. He barely felt the null ray blasts.

His stumble forward was the only thing that saved him from a face full of Dirge’s missiles, but they still impacted close enough to his face to cause him to worry. He flipped his head around and fired the cannon mounted on the back of it at Dirge and his group as they raced by. With his cannon arm he fired a shot at the retreating Dunehopper and with his claw hand he reached out to grab Starscream as he fled.

Then the Sweeps and Cyclonus struck from his rear flanks. The attack drove him forward another step, but one of the sweeps was felled by his head cannon. Slowly but surely he was being driven forward.

Rampage was more than a little mift to be forced to stop again. It was bad enough being left behind but waiting even longer; well it was annoying to say the least.

Still he was pleased when he was ordered to take up his own position and basically prepare to take down the prey. His alt-form being the more agile allowed him to rush past many obstacles that lay in his way. Slightly irritating being that he had to wait when every instinct was yelling at him to attack. Still he trusted Razorclaw (well as far as Rampage could trust anyone) to make the right decision.

He was after all well aware that sometimes tactics were needed in place of brute force. The only problem was it was difficult for Rampage to tell when it was best to attack and when it was best to wait.

"Whoa!"

Dunehopper rolled hard to his left and then pulled up sharply to avoid the blast of plasma from Omega Supreme's hand cannon. The weapon, designed to decimate fortifications and hit gestalt-sized targets more than normal-sized Transformers, spat a glob of searing plasma nearly as big as Dunehopper himself. Fortunately, Dunehopper had had his wits about him for once, and managed to dodge the blazing projectile. He could feel the immense heat from the plasma on his upper fuselage as its roared past.

"Big Autobot punk thinks he can take us down that easily, he's out of his tiny mind!" he gloated.

Throttling back to subsonic speeds to comply with Starscream's orders, Dunehopper still was moving quickly enough that the enormous Sentinel appeared to be stuck in slow-motion. He swung back around for another pass, this time engaging his multi-missile launchers to lay down a hail of missiles around the Sentinel's huge head module.

Touching down in the same area as the Predacons and the other Decepticons moving into position near the epicenter of the trap, Shockwave transformed once more into robot mode. Surveying the forest of towering buildings, many of them blasted and no longer as tall as they once were, he was satisfied that Sector 905 was the ideal environment for tying up the Sentinel and inflicting massive damage upon it as it tried to defend itself from multiple fast-moving targets.

The keystone of the Decepticon attack plan was the sheer volume of fire that the batteries in Clusters 1499 and 0987 could produce. UPLINK: Cluster 1499. SUCCESSFUL. UPLINK: Cluster 0987. SUCCESSFUL. Shockwave's communications and tactical processors connected to the defense batteries in a fraction of a nanoclick.

Like so many things in Polyhex, the defense batteries were accessible to Shockwave almost instantly at any time. He had been overlord of his domain for so long that he had nearly transformed it over the millennia into an extension of his own form. One might say that Shockwave was as much a part of Polyhex as its power grid and transit systems. Of course, Shockwave would more likely view Polyhex as a part of himself. One could say, arguably, that Shockwave was Polyhex. There was no question that the city had fallen into horrific disrepair in recent vorns, but there was still no denying that there was much in Polyhex that still functioned as full capacity. Thanks to the efforts of Rapture's repair teams, the powerful batteries of Clusters 1499 and 0987 were quite functional.

Acquiring target. Radar silhouette confirmed; magnetic anomaly detector imaging complete. TARGET LOCK: pending.

As the Seekers and Sweeps drove Omega Supreme forward, the sensor arrays in the Clusters drew a more and more careful bead on the huge Autobot. It was only a matter of time now.

En route to Sector 905

Blitzwing grinned as he received Onslaught’s message.
“Lock and Load!”
Quickly he transformed into his jet mode and zoomed out of the hanger bay. It did not take long for the purple triplechanger to catch the ground team. Only perhaps a few hundred astroseconds. Flying low he approached, bringing his nose cone up so that his thrusters faced downward. At that moment he went from Jet to tank, landing with a healthy clang onto the highway. Knowing that all messages were to be encrypted and it seemed no one was going to break the silence. Blitz simply swung his canon in greeting to his fellow cons. The sound of his treads filled his auds as he pushed more speed to come up behind Onslaught. His sensors gave him a visual of the seekers and sweeps making their moves at the giant. Sure he could be up there but, there were times when he loved his tank mode more, and now was one of those times. This way he could cause more damage and kill any ground forces that would dare interfere.

Thrust, the seeker usually bringing in the noise first, was groaning at the fact that his entrance had been seemingly diminished into a sideshow. Groaning, but it certainly wasn't all that he was doing for he was dead set on doing something about it. Thrust had slowed down more and more as they got closer to Omega Supreme, to increase the distance between him and his two wingmen. If he wasn't going to get the first shot, he hoped to have one bloody good one.

Watching the plasma torpedos propelled by Dirge and Ramjet discharge in a worthwhile explosion near the Sentinel's face, he witnessed the humongous Autobot direct his attention more to his two friends and less on him; An act perfectly suitable to fulfill his ambitions. Just before passing by the guardian's head himself, he unloaded his own set of three plasmas pinpointed right on the visor.

With the blast from Omega Supreme's head turret already making its way in the air between him and his squad, Thrust rolled slightly to the side to avoid any kind of immediate retaliation- as well as began to increase his velocity in order to catch up while keeping a close eye on the guardian's possible movements.

The Guardian's massive claw shot out after Starscream's retreating rudder with a speed impressive for such a massive machine. But as far as the Seeker Commander was concerned, Omega Supreme may as well have been moving in slow motion. Not only was the deposed leader of all Decepticon air forces one of the fastest fliers ever constructed by either side, he was also quite possibly the most agile. He rolled gracefully out of the way of the grasping appendage, a mocking cackle hanging in the air behind him as he sought to goad the Autobot giant along with taunts and jibes as well as flashy displays of largely ineffectual firepower.

"My, my, what wonderful reflexes you have, Guardian. Tell me, relic, what junkyard did Optimus Prime fish you out of? I'll be quite happy to send you back to join all your deactivated friends."

Turning sharply, Starscream launched another of his diminishing supply of cluster bombs at the behemoth's legs. Though the ordnance he carried was formidable, it wasn't likely to do much against the thick armor possessed by such a brute. A more effective tactic might have been to target the ground at the Guardian's feet, except that if the Seeker succeeded in tripping him up his efforts would ultimately prove counterproductive. They wanted the oversized scraplet moving, not floundering around in the rubble.

The attacks of Cyclonus and his pet Sweeps were about as unimpressive as Starscream had expected. Honestly, the pointy-headed monstrosity had no style whatsoever. Who would willingly follow such a dreary wreck?

>>Dirge, have your squadron concentrate your attacks against the Guardian's back. See if you can't give him a nudge toward Shockwave's surprise. Dunehopper and Dragonfly, hit the flanks. I'll stay in front of him and see if I can't persuade the ugly antique to chase me farther into Polyhex.>Status update received, Omega. Engage the enemy and drive them off, if you can; terminate if you must. Try not to let them draw you too far out of position. Further orders forthcoming.<<

Near Sector 905

Though aware of the Triplechanger as he pulled up behind him, Onslaught gave no acknowledgement of that fact. A transmission to Blitzwing could be intercepted and give away their position, and his artillery configuration wasn't at all suited to non-verbal forms of communication. Instead, the Combaticon drove on, until he reached what he deemed to be the optimal position from which to support the weapons clusters with their own heavy firepower.

He ground slowly to a halt, allowing his long-range tracking computers to acquire their target and begin programming his photon warheads accordingly. "Unit, halt. We shall maintain our present position until Shockwave gives the order to fire. You will then act in accordance with the attack plan that I delineated earlier. Understood?"

If Starscream had fun playing around and dodging the enormous amounts of firepower in the air, Dirge certainly felt otherwise. Not only had the Guardian moved on a critical moment and hence avoided the full power of Dirge's attack - but Dirge himself had barely escaped with his life when Omega Supreme retaliated with his head mounted laser cannon. The morose seeker could only hope that his wingmen had done better in their attempt to damage the Sentinel's visor.

And now the always so egoistic seeker commander dared to calculate their attacks on such a short straw as believing that Omega Supreme would find Starscream worth of following over the rest of airborne Decepticons attacking the Guardian. Yet, insubordination now would only doom him. Dirge had no choice but continue and hope to survive.

>>"Acknowledged."<< Was Dirge's short response to Starscream before taking a sharp turn and accelerating in for another attack, this time against the Guardian's back. I do hope that blasted arrogance of yours provides to be your downfall this cycle. I'll be the first one to dance on your grave if they even bother to give you a military funeral.

With his lasers having little effect against the incredibly hard armor of the gigantic Autobot, Dirge fired two more plasma missiles towards Omega Supreme's back before pulling downwards, rotating 90 degrees and flying through the opening between the guardian's legs, before rotating again and then starting to accelerate rapidly to gain distance between himself and the deadly Autobot. Waste of plasma missiles... his back is propably even better armored than his damned front. Starscream be damned, I am saving my last missiles for better opening... if I live long enough, hah.

Shockwave's Tower - Defense Perimeter

Turbulence wasn't thrilled by the idea of leading the Autobot's 'last line of defense' to the slaughter; So when he was looked over to grace the skies with the debunked Starscream, he took it all in stride. "Just more glory polish for his frame."

Still when the war veteran Quantum rallied the remaining seekers, something stirred within the blue and bronze warrior. The smart seeker with the teleportation powers had quite a note worthy career and reputation that could have rivaled even the loyal Soundwaves. For Turbulence it would be an honor to work along this dedicated mech, if only to rekindle his own drive as a Decepticon.

Moving smartly to the inner wall facing Nova Cronum, Turbulence stood by for the arrival of other seeker brethren and further orders from Quantum.

Near Sector 905

As Dirge was fortunate to escape the Guardian's gunning, his wing-mate was not as fortunate. OmegaSupreme's head canon grazed Ramjet's wing, but distracting the giant base former from Thrust was well worth it. Pain receptors misinformed the seeker of the damage done, but for him if it didn't feel good enough, he must not have hurt himself.

Though the damage felt superficial, the red-winged conehead had an idea. Veering down, the white a grey warrior intended to fake his own crash landing. "I'm going down!"

This was a tactic, he trusted Dirge was familiar with. As soon as he could huff his frame around the guardian's flank he would take off and return with a super-sonic breaking battering ram to his back. The up beat warrior had often collided with towering targets, but the opportunity to crash into a sentinel did not present itself often.

As Ramjet skidded down, he quickly transformed and began his nautilus commute to the rear of OmegaSupreme.

As OmegaSupreme succefully downed members of Cyclonus' siemese sweep flee, Reforge broke formation to tend to them. "Heh.. I can get you back up in the air in three breems." The Sweep technician knew his own firepower would prove less effective against the monolith mech opposed to his battle oriented counterparts. Truth be told he though the sweeps current detain a little too dangerous, but he didn't want to disappoint his Air Commandant either.

The white marble medicon performed spot welds and circuit bypasses to return the first fallen sweep back out battle ready. He wasn't aware of other downed fliers, so with a little reluctance Reforge prep for rejoining formation along with his nearly repaired patient.

Triggerhappy chuckled at Astrotrain's joke. At least he assumed the last part was a joke.

>>"Yeah, he can be a bit of a pain in the aft most of the time, but the guy owes me from a while back, I'm hoping he can try and sort out some problems I've been having, I heard he's quite good with what I need doing."<<

Triggerhappy looked out in front of him, Polyhex's border was getting close now.

'Better check I got my coordinates right'

Triggerhappy made sure everything was correct and content that they were, continued on his way.

'Wait.' He thought. 'I haven't checked anything in Primus knows how long, so why now?'

Havok arrived a bit behind the rest of the ground team, and took up a position of his choosing, a fair distance ahead of Onslaught and the rest of the team, Shockwave also gracing them with his presence, a low growling sound emanating deep from within the dark grey Corrupticon as he looked at the Decepticon General. Would he really care if the Autobot Guardian took a dislike to the purple mech and proceeded to reduce him to his component parts? Not likely.

As his railgun was once more retrieved from it's subspace compartment and attached to Havok's arm, the Corrupticon opened a link to Thrall who wasn't in his line of sight.

Heap acknowledges Onslaught's order by waving the barrel of his pulse laser at the City Commander. In his days, on a shelling mission, you talked and moved as little as possible when it was not in direct relation to your target. Heap liked the old rules generally, and stuck with them whenever possible, such as now.

Bludgeon took a step forward, coming to stand next to Heap, though letting a more than reasonable space in between them... just in case there was an attack. Formation CAP Flying Polyhex - Rapture's Wing

Silverstrike watched the two air assault teams from her position behind Rapture. She smiled inwardly at Starscream’s antics. Of all the seekers she was the one who would most appreciate his love of speed and Aerobatics, though she highly doubted she would ever have such a conversation with the egomaniacal fop. She had jokingly entertained thoughts of challenging him to a race during one of their off orns, but had thought better of it the seeker commander would probably take being beaten by a femme to harsh. It would damage his over inflated image. She wondered what had happened to him over the millennia to make him into such a peacock. At one time he had what it took to be an impressive commander, a shining star among the Decepticons, unmatched. Once upon a time she had respected him looked up to him. Now she just felt sorry for him, everything seemed so fake.

Her attentions turned instead to the coneheads. Ramjet seemed to be pulling off a signature move, she watched with interest. The sweeps flew around the sentinel like a perfect swarm , she searched for Cyclonus but could not see him. Perhaps he was out of her visual line. She took in as much as she could letting her internal systems record the info for later.

Each blast of laser fire and explosion reflected off her shining hull, causing a display of light to dance over her wing mates. She had long ago learned to use her mirroresque body to her advantage. In the full sun she could blind, at night against a backdrop of stars she was camouflaged. In space as long as she stayed still she was as good as invisible, as dark as the void around her. But here she could only hope she did not attract too much attention.

Above Shockwave's Tower - Upper stratosphere

Ghost continued to hover sending a video feed every two breems to Jadewind. He watched the ground team with little interest. Glancing for a moment at Shockwave. He then turned his attentions to the sweeps. A drone or two were hit, one even went down. Apparently it was repaired by another more sophisticated looking sweep. The seeker spy remained invisible. He sent Jadewind a visual of Starscream’s team and the coneheads as they made their attacks.

“Show off.”

Ghost muttered as Starscream played a dangerous game with the giant.

“That’s the kind of slag that gets him in trouble.”

He spoke to the unseen voices.

>>Jadewind, I’m sending you a long-range scan of the outer perimeter.<<
The idea had come from one of the voices, it sounded like a good idea so he followed it.

Near Sector 905

Blitzwing came to a stop. His position was well to the left and behind the others. His canon was strong enough and ranged enough to come from behind without any depletion in efficiency. The triple changer looked over the group, he saw Thrall and Havok but not Bane. Curious the haughty Currupticon was not here. Blitz did not dwell on it instead he watched the Decepticon fliers antagonize the Autobot. Blitz wondered silently if it would have been so bad just to destroy the giant all together. With all the cons here he was sure that could gather enough firepower to do it. Simply take out his knees, cause him to fall. Disable his arms and then have a tech go in and dismantle the head. But for some reason his superiors found it better to prod the lumbering fool out of the area.

Polyhex/Kaon Border Airspace

"Problems?" Astrotrain asked Triggerhappy, somewhat intrigued. "Like, worse than you normally have?" he jibed. The blue Decepticon gunner was well-known for being a nearly uncontrollable nutcase, prone to laughing wildly for no reason and even drooling oil on occasion.

"Well, if anyone can fix ya...maybe it's Hook."

The two Decepticon flyers crossed over the border into Kaon, just needing to soar over the Sonic Canyons to pass into the airspace of the vast fortress that was Kolkular.

OCC - Your next post can be in the Kaon thread, Frimal.

Nearing Sector 905

>>"You got it, boss," Dunehopper acknowledged Starscream's order. Cutting back hard and igniting his thrusters once again to swoop down to rooftop level, the ground assault Seeker sent a cascade of high-explosive, armor-piercing warheads from his multi-missile launcher at Omega Supreme's lower left side. No doubt Dragonfly was pressing on the other side with his own weaponry, trying to drive the Sentinel deeper into the Decepticon trap.

"Eat missiles, you overgrown slave droid!"
