Decepticon Battlecruiser Thanatos - Tides of Revolution

The local Solar System. From the Sun to Earth's orbit and the Moon. And from there all the way into the outer regions of the system beyond Neptune and the dwarf planets beyond it.

There is no immediate answer from Dirge. Or any concrete answer, for that matter. While one would normally expect Flash Freeze to receive some scorn or mockery for is demeanor by some more hardened or vicious cons, Dirge merely stare down the other seeker with his cold, lifeless optics for an amount of time longer than what would be considered acceptable parameters for a stare down.

"Now why would I do that?"

The Cartography Room

"I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD IN A GARBAGE DISPOSAL, YOU CLAWLESS VULTURE!"

No doubt about. That voice belonged Rampage who had clearly been aggravated by Divebomb. Not all that unfamiliar dynamic. Divebomb certainly radiated a smug sense of superiority over the other Predacons not named Razorclaw. And it often was easily angered Rampage that got the worst of Divebomb’s venomous remarks. The thing was, despite of all the name calling and temper tantrums the Predacons were a surprisingly tight knit unit. No insult could be thrown that couldn’t be settled down with a good scuffle.

"Just be glad RAZORCLAW is the leader of this pack and not ME, you bloated ostrich!"

Being no different from the other Predacons in his warlike nature, Headstrong was not going to help to cool Rampage down. He was going to feed the fire.

”Get over it Rampage!” Headstrong snorted irately as he entered the Cartography Room, bringing the whole pack finally together. The tiger’s roaring was getting on his nerves. Why the slag couldn’t Razorclaw bother to control that hot tempered thrill seeker? ”Your incessant meowing is irritating my audioreceptors!”

The Elevators

Redwing smiled towards Amethyst sweetly as they approached the elevators. However, his face then turned from a smile to a slightly somber expression when he remembered something very important.

"We really should check our weapons as soon as we get there. Just in case."

They then entered an elevator and the door closed behind them. Down a level, down another..

Level 1

Redwing exited the elevator with Amethyst and let out a slight sigh. He felt things were too calm. Any time now they were gonna be put on a mission. And, sure enough his suspicions were correct.

>>"If you are receiving this, you are to proceed to the alpha hangar immediately. We depart in two breems. All hail Megatron."<<

"Two breems.. Amethyst, did you get this message? I just got a comm from a femme telling me of a mission in two breems and to go to the alpha hangar immediately. Let's check our weapons quickly and go!"

Redwing walked quickly towards the luckily relatively close armory on the level, and proceeded to check his weapons quickly and efficiently.

"Alright, null rays in working order, check. Restocking my stash of corrosive missiles, check."

Redwing then remembered his comm to Thundercracker previously, and thought it'd be rude to leave him in the dark.

>>"Thundercracker, I was just called to a mission. Super unfortunate that our meetup might have to wait, unless you're called as well and wanna come along. Going to the alpha hangar now. Long live Megatron!"<<

There is no answer from the other seeker, merely more staring from beneath his cone-shaped brow with his dead yellow optics alongside the eerie silence of the corridor.

Corridors: From Knee level of the Two Staring Seekers

"Coming through! Mind the short mech!" A voice came from knee level between Dirge and Flash Freeze, belonging to the small, dark grey Decepticon known as Feint. He pushed between the two seekers. "Fragging bloody seekers taking up all the space."

--

He was being followed by a few clips, by the much, much larger Reaver, who said nothing until he skirted ominously around the Seekers. "You're not doing it right." He muttered to them in a creepy voice as the two mechs continued towards the lift.

--

"Never mind them, tall, dark, and fragging wierd." Feint called back to his companion. "We got a shuttle to catch... Or something... Whatever they have planned in Alpha Hangar. If they are going planet-side, I am all for getting off this boat and playing tag with whatever is on that mudball down there." He stopped a moment. "What is on that mudball?"

Reaver didn't answer but Feint didn't actually care.

"Whatever..." Feint muttered. "Anything is better than this."

Neither seemed to be in much of a rush, for Feint 2 breems was ample time, Reaver had to mind the shorter mech's smaller stride, which made Feint slower than him.

There are no answers from Dirge, leaving his purpose and desires a complete and utter mystery, safe perhaps for the possible intended of being a disturbing metallic bastard. He give one last expressionless, silent glance over at Flash Freeze, staring down the other seeker for a moment, with no sound safe for a very distant, almost impossible to hear hum nagging on other's audio receptors.

As he entered the nearby lift, Feint turned and looked directly at Flash Freeze. "I'm not your nanny." He said. "I'm just the loud mouth who ruined your staring contest with Mr Talksalot there." He waved his hand absently at Dirge as Reaver slipped into the lift. "The call was a general call, we all got it. You do what you want."

--

"No it wasn't." Reaver corrected Feint.

--

Feint regarded Reaver a moment. "Let's pretend."

He paused.

"Since I don't make mistakes."

Thundercracker paused as he listened to the transmission. Already? Megatron doesn’t waste any time. He smiled at the thought. Some things never change.

>>Thundercracker here. I’m en route now. All hail Megatron<<

He hated that this preempted his discussion with Redwing, but there was always another time. Maybe.

He was about to open a channel to Redwing when he received one first.

Redwing wrote: >>"Thundercracker, I was just called to a mission. Super unfortunate that our meetup might have to wait, unless you're called as well and wanna come along. Going to the alpha hangar now. Long live Megatron!"<<

Well, well. It looks like we may have our chance after all. This should be telling. At least he’s saying the right things.

>>It is, but I’ve been contacted as well. I look forward to our mission together. Long live Megatron.<<

Once he closed the comm. link, he shook his head. Time for our best behavior.

~~~
Thrust was in the process of leading a cheer for Megatron and the glory of the Decepticons when the communication came through.
Flamewar wrote:>>"If you are receiving this, you are to proceed to the alpha hangar immediately. We depart in two breems. All hail Megatron."<<
Smiling, he replied back,
>>It would be my honor to serve, Flamewar. I shall proceed to the alpha hanger immediately, warrior. All hail Megatron!<< He shouted the last part through the comm., but it felt only right as that’s what he’d been doing for the better part of his time in the bar.
He glanced around and raised his cup of energon. “My fellow warriors, I have been selected to partake in a mission. Until next time,” he finished and downed his remaining energon in a single gulp. He didn’t know if any of his fellow Decepticons in attendance had received the same message or not, but for the moment, he relished being the chosen one.
Turning to Ramjet, he clapped a hand on his shoulder and said, “It’s been good to see you again. Until next time.” With a brief nod, he set his cup aside and headed for the door, lost in his own thoughts. By the time the door slid open, he was pretty sure he’d figured out the quickest path to the hanger. She said alpha, didn’t she? Not wishing to look the fool, he set his internal diagnostics to filter out the excess energon. It wouldn’t due to arrive inebriated.
At least, he didn’t need to refuel.
Flash Freeze went in the shuttle with the two mechs, trying to avoid eye contact. He was silent as he walked in.
The imposing giant noticed as Hazard and his brother Doomshot moved out of the way, to discuss something. Suddenly, Dreadnaut received a comm from a higher-up.
Flamewar wrote:>>"If you are receiving this, you are to proceed to the alpha hangar immediately. We depart in two breems. All hail Megatron."<<
It looked to be on a shared frequency. The tower looked around to the other mechs around him, giving them a look of inquiry, to see if they too had received the transmission. Dreadnaut started walking toward the Alpha Hangar, as Flamewar had indicated. The black ops director must surely have something in mind if she wanted a walking arsenal to be around.
On his way there, Dreadnaut sighed deeply underneath his faceplate. How much more of this?
With each footstep of his being several tons of pounding steel, he arrived at the Alpha Hangar. Others were also present there. He crossed his arms and waited for further instruction.
The lift in the corridors
Feint looked up at Flash Freeze.
"Yeah, I agree these lifts are a little small, not sure why they would make them this way considering you seekers and your wings always in the way..." He found himself rambling a bit so he focused on the important aspect of the conversation. "I think the four of us would be fine. Besides..." His gaze went out to Dirge. "Dirge is a great mech! Real chatterbox. Sparkling conversationalist..." He smirked at the somber seeker in the corridor. "I tease! It's 'cause I don't hate you!"
"Well, at least my wings are not as big as a normal seeker's." said Flash Freeze, angrily. "Besides, I think he has things to do". Flash Freeze took out a datapad. "Have you ever seen pictures of earth before?" said Flash Freeze, trying to stall so they'd forget about Dirge "It's beautiful." Flash Freeze looked at the timer. "Less than half a Breem left till launch!" Flash Freeze started to get nervous. The air around him cooled to temperatures that would be similar to a cold windstorm. "Hey, w-w-hat if some, something goes wrong? Wha-at is this m-m-m-mission anyways?" Flash Freeze was shaking and his optics dimmed as his posture grew weak.
Dessicator remained standing off to the side, watching the small group discuss what to do. He’d purposely remained quiet to allow them to decide on their own. He was the newcomer, after all, and it wasn’t his place to intercede or impose his will. It wasn’t that he was scared of them — he was pretty sure he could subdue all with his EMP emitter — they were simply an interesting group. A fun group, if they ever let themselves just indulge a little. There was something to be said about mech that cared as much about their weaponry as he did. It wasn’t often he came across others with a “screw loose in their crankcase” as he’d be so eloquently described before. At least, that was his thought.
Still, there was a limit to his patience, and they were quickly reaching that point. Was it really so hard to make a decision? It was either grab some energon or beat the bolts out of one another. Seemed like a simple choice to him, but then he wasn’t a fan of physical exertion. It tended to lead to him getting knocked on his aft or using his EMP emitter — by reflex, of course — and he hated to give away that secret barring emergencies.
After a few astroseconds, he decided to speak up when a familiar voice spoke over an open comm. channel.
Flamewar wrote:>>"If you are receiving this, you are to proceed to the alpha hangar immediately. We depart in two breems. All hail Megatron."<<
He couldn’t help but embrace the energon surge as his energon pump skipped a couple of beats before it settled back to its normal pace. The fact that she had thought enough of him to invite him along meant the universe to him.
I must’ve made a good impression when we met. Not that she could’ve resisted my charms.
He chuckled at the thought and the prospect of seeing her again, on a mission she appeared to be commanding, no less. He could think of fewer things more enticing. He’d be sure to blow up the first Autobot that crossed his path for her.
Flamewar couldn’t resist that, could she? Nah, he answered himself.
He looked at the others gathered around, unsure how to explain his need to get going, when he spotted Dreadnaught already heading in the direction he’d be going. Not liking the idea of potential competition, he grunted as he said to the others, “Gotta go. Got a mission to accomplish. Tank you later.”
With that he turned and followed Dreadnaught, sizing the mech’s ability to dish out damage with each step.
He hated having a new friend being a rival, but it just meant he had to work harder to earn Flamewar’s affections (he chose to ignore the fact that she hadn’t yet returned his). He wouldn’t kill another Decepticon for her, though. At least, not any in the group he knew.
Alpha Hangar
"Did someone call...for the cavalry? Because here it is, oh yeah!" The booming, cocky and room-dominating voice of Nitro Zeus filling the room as he walked in, chest 'puffed' (can a robot even puff it's chest?) and full of overblown swagger. Of course, voice and body language being the only ways for Nitro to express himself, his face lost and replaced by the singular optic of one who went through Empurata.
"I'm pretty sure it's me you call in, baby. How's it going? No? Not in the mood for a chat? Okay then, we're 'all business' here today then."
"Shall we proceed to a more...controlled area of the shuttle, Lord Megatron?" Flamewar asked as she, Megatron and his select coterie approached the shuttle that Megatron had indicated earlier.
"No. Not for the time being, I want everyone to understand what we're doing," Megatron said as the ramp lowered and he started to board, headed into the passenger containment area. "And to accomplish that, I want to be in their midst myself."
As Megatron looked over the mission roster, he began making some selective edits and sending out a few additional, non-verbal summons.
Cartography Room
Razorclaw entered the darkened room just before Divebomb and the rest of his Predacons arrived on scene. They were nothing if not obedient, having wasted no time in following the Predacon Commander’s orders. Of course, they also wasted no time in getting into a verbal spat with one another, a fight that started between Rampage and Divebomb and then spread to Headstrong once he had entered. Tantrum was the only one not to get in on the arguing and complaining.
“ENOUGH!!!” Razorclaw roared as he slammed his clawed fist down onto the control console in the center of the chamber. “I did not call you all down here so you can fight with each other! Lord Megatron has an important mission for us and we will follow his orders to the letter! Now, control yourselves and act like the elite specialty unit that you are all apart of!”
Shockwave wrote:>>”Shockwave to Razorclaw--you should be receiving the files now. You'll notice that the regions Starscream marked as having the highest ore-13 retrieval success also showed unnaturally high volcanic activity in the region nearby. Our work in recovering the ore should begin there.”<<
The lion-former sent a non-verbal acknowledgement back to the one-eyed scientist as the files in question appeared on the nearby terminal. Razorclaw turned and accessed the data, activating the holo-emitter directly above the central console. Within astroseconds, a large holographic image of Sol-3 appeared in the middle of the room, illuminating the darkness that had previously surrounded the five Predacons.
“Now, you all know what pleasant little planet this is,” Razorclaw started to say as he walked around the glowing Earth. “You’ll notice the red dots indicating regions where the substance known as Ore-13 is located and in the highest concentration. Megatron’s orders are to mine this ore for the Decepticon war machine. He wants it done as quickly and efficiently as possible. That’s where we come in. Once I have chosen a site, we will take a shuttle down with a contingent of vehicon miners and we will extract the ore. The more we can recover the better.”
Turning back towards the 3D map of Earth, Razorclaw took a short amount of time to study the various sites indicating Ore-13 deposits. The lion-former soon zeroed in on one of the largest deposits located in a region in the center of the African continent. “Here,” Razorclaw pointed as the image zoomed in on the location in question. “We will start here, a nation-state called the Congo. It is a densely forested region. Our animal alt modes should do us well there. Furthermore, as Shockwave has indicated regarding many of these sites, there is an active volcano nearby. According to the information provided, the fleshlings call it Mount Nyiragongo. We will need to be mindful.”
Razorclaw then returned his attention back to his squad. “We will also have to be mindful of the local natives. Infiltration protocols are still to be adhered to. Therefore, we will need to don synthetic organic outer coverings in order to blend in and look like real animals. From what I know of this continent, our animal forms are common here. Of course, metal beasts are not something these flesh-sacks are used to seeing even in a rainforest. I know you’re not going to like being surrounded in organic slag, but I suggest you get over it. It’s for the good of the empire and for Megatron.”
“If there are any questions, I suggest you ask them now. Otherwise, head down to the CR chambers and acquire your synthetic flesh coverings ASAP. We will then meet in the Alpha Hangar. All hail Megatron!” Razorclaw shouted as he lifted his right fist into the air, making optical contact with each of his subordinates.
Mess Hall – Refueling Bar
Skywarp finished his glass of high grade and placed the empty container down on the bar top. Thundercracker had left some time earlier, indicating that he was heading for the training room. The teleporter had considered following his long-time friend and ultimately decided against it. ‘Warp was hoping Nightraven would soon join him, but she never showed up. She probably found something else to do or maybe she was looking in on that spitfire of a sister of hers. Either way it left Skywarp feeling a bit down with little to nothing to occupy his time but drinking.
Flamewar wrote:>>”If you are receiving this, you are to proceed to the alpha hangar immediately. We depart in two breems. All hail Megatron.”<<
And just like that his luck had seemingly changed for the better. Apparently, he was needed on a new mission. The fact that someone had thought to include him made the prankster feel needed. “Well, everyone, I’ve got to be going. Duty calls! heh,” Skywarp said as he got up from the bar and headed for the door. He then opened up a channel to his blue friend:
>>”Hey, ’Cracker! I just got a call to go on a new mission. I’m heading down to the Alpha hangar now. If you want to come, feel free!”<<
With his message sent, Skywarp continued into the corridor outside of the mess hall. He then suddenly stopped in his tracks when he realized there was a better and faster way to travel. “Why the frag am I walking when I can fraggin’ teleport? heh.”
And with a quick flash of purple light, Skywarp was gone from sight.
Alpha Hangar
Sixshot followed closely behind Megatron as they entered the alpha hangar where the destructive remnants of the slagmaker’s initial reappearance could still be seen. The sixchanger spared only a quick glance at some of the vehicons who were still cleaning up the mess before returning his attention to Megatron when he indicated the shuttle they would be utilizing. Flamewar was following close to their leader, as well.
Flamewar wrote:"Interesting is one word I would use. We’ve been treading water too long, fighting amongst ourselves. We didn't destroy each other, but we've made no progress either. At least now this world is back on course to get what it deserves and feed the war machine."
“Indeed,” Sixshot replied stoically. “The faster we’re able to get to phase six, the better I’ll like it.” As Megatron ascended the ramp into the shuttle he had chosen, Flamewar asked if the slagmaker wanted to enter a more secured area of the craft. Megatron refused, preferring to remain in the midst of his Decepticons. As such, Megatron stayed in the passenger cabin where he began to look over the mission roster.
Sixshot entered the shuttle and stood alongside the slagmaker as those who had been summoned began to make their appearance. One such mech suddenly appeared in a flash of purple light right outside of the shuttle. The mostly black seeker then ascended the ramp and entered into the passenger compartment.
“Skywarp reporting as ordered!” The teleporter’s jaw dropped several feet at the sight of the slagmaker, himself. “Lord Megatron! It’s you! I mean, I heard you were back. I just hadn’t seen you yet, and I didn’t know you were coming on this mission personally. It’s a real honor! Thank you for choosing me, my lord!” Skywarp then bowed before the Decepticon Supreme Commander.
“Wow,” Sixshot said, looking over at Megatron. “I think he might ask for your autograph. Heh.”
En route to the refueling bar, Astrotrain received an internal communique. It was non-verbal, but it was....holy slag...it was originating from Megatron himself. The orders were to head to the alpha hangar immediately.
"Uh hey, guys...did you get what just came through on my comm?" Astrotrain asked Blitzwing and Octane.
Not waiting for their answer, he adjusted course and began walking in the direction of the hangar. If they had received it, they wouldn't be far behind. If they hand't, well, he could tell them all about it later.
Shockwave's Laboratory
Once Dead End had moved himself to the appropriate slab, he leaned his head back and looked up at the ceiling, only sparing a quick glance at the door when the Constructicons entered.
"This is going to be a painful process, isn't it?" he muttered.
The lift in the corridors
Feint resisted a snide comment in regards to the seeker's angry attitude about wing size; opting instead to watch Dirge and partially watch Reaver.
He noted Reaver had 'that look' in his optics and the sadistic mech was reaching forward. He clocked Reaver in the kneecaps with his elbow. "Not in a lift, Gruesome." He muttered to Reaver. "You know better."
Nicorange wrote:Flash Freeze took out a datapad. "Have you ever seen pictures of earth before?" said Flash Freeze, trying to stall so they'd forget about Dirge "It's beautiful."
"Beautiful my little metal aft." He muttered to Flash Freeze. "It's dirty, it's messy, and it will make you rust, fast."
Nicorange wrote: "Hey, w-w-hat if some, something goes wrong? Wha-at is this m-m-m-mission anyways?" Flash Freeze was shaking and his optics dimmed as his posture grew weak.
"If something goes wrong, hopefully we all die horribly." Feint answered nonchalantly. "And hopefully the mission isn't a stealth one, you chit chat a lot."
---
Reaver smirked. "Let's hope we die horribly."
--
Feint held back a chuckle. The lift door slammed into his foot again as it tried to close. Universe's most impatient lift!
His attention went breifly back to Dirge. "So yeah... Sorry if I interrupted something there between you and Mr Easily Excitable." He said flicking a finger towards Flash Freeze. "I have been told I lack tact."
The lift doors were making another attempt to close just then.
"But we got to go, invitation to join us still open.. sayonara!" Feint removed his foot and let the lift doors close, the whisked away to the hangar.
The Question of Combination
Shockwave's Laboratory
Breakdown moved his optics rapidly around the room as his teammates lied down on their berths. His optics were wide with fear, and wondering what torturous pain he would be put through. His fears were then exacerbated by Dead End's question:
"This is going to be a painful process, isn't it?"
"Painful?! Painful process?! Nonono! No.. Please no no no!"
Breakdown wrapped his arms around his chassis in a protective manner, and then proceeded to move his actuators over his eyes. He knew that his torture would be worse however if he were to hesitate much further. So at that, he sat down on the closest berth as fright filled his optics more and more with each step.
"Please please please! If I did something bad I'm really sorry! Please don't hurt me!"
Breakdown just knew they would restrain him. His claustrophobia would peak if they did that! No no no.. This couldn't be! Breakdown jittered as he laid uncomfortably on the berth. What if they reset me? What if they're annoyed with my fear and anxiety? No no no.. They can't! They can't do that! I can't give them any ideas!
Flash Freeze was visibly upset at the small bots remark. "Wait, what are we even here for?" asked Flash Freeze in a worried tone. "Are we going somewhere cold?" Flash Freeze was going to say somethign else, but he realized that he should probably stay quiet. He opened up a new datapad, one titled "Kid's Antarctic Encyclopedia".
Corridors/Alpha Hanger
Thundercracker was surprised to see the corridors leading to the alpha hanger so full of his fellow Decepticons. Given the message had come from Flamewar, he assumed it was a covert operation, which also made him wonder why he was selected since he wasn’t one of the more secretive Decepticons, well, that others knew of.
As he turned a corner and approached the hanger doors, he couldn’t help but chuckle at that and shake his head. At times like this, he really wished he could switch off his higher processing functions for a time. Warp’s definitely right: I need to stop thinking so much. At this rate I’ll glitch out before my time.
As if on cue, a comm. signal came through.
Skywarp wrote:>>”Hey, ’Cracker! I just got a call to go on a new mission. I’m heading down to the Alpha hangar now. If you want to come, feel free!”<<
You son of a glitch, he thought, laughing at the timing his friend always seemed to have.
>>Good to hear you survived your tour in the bar, Warp. I’m nearly there now. Must be important to send us out so soon after our last mission.<<
He finished replying as he neared the door and slowed as other mechs were already there, some paused to look around at something. What that something could be intrigued him more, but also sent off warning alarms in his processor. Through the millennia, he’d seen enough to expect a spectacle of sort designed to ensure their loyalty. Why would Flamewar have called…
The thought trailed off as he remembered what he had wanted to talk to Redwing about before they’d received the message to report here. Could his worst fears have been realized and someone had reported what the young Seeker had said? It wasn’t something Flamewar usually dealt with, at least, to his knowledge, but there was always a first time. If that was the case, there was virtually nothing he could do to help the young Seeker, and that realization sent a spike of anger into his spark.
The joy of having Skywarp joining him faded, and he steeled himself for what was to come. It’s nothing I haven’t seen before, he reminded himself.
Stepping through the door, he sidestepped another mech, then paused as he noticed the scorch marks and mostly repaired damage lining the walls and floor. What happened here?
As he took in the damaged hanger, he noticed a couple others had started to head toward a shuttle. He quickly spotted Skywarp as he appeared and walked up the ramp and Thundercracker felt his concern melt away. It is a mission.
He made his way toward the shuttle, his usual stride returned as he passed the other mechs that had gathered. He knew it would be expected of him to be one of the first on the shuttle, and he didn’t intend to have his position weakened because he was curious about what had happened. Oh no, those answers could wait.
When he reached the top of the ramp, Thundercracker took in those in attendance, and spotted Skywarp bowing before none other than Megatron.
“So, the rumors were true,” he said, stepping forward and bowing his head. “It’s good to see you’ve returned and are fully functional, Lord Megatron.”
He took in Sixshot’s presence as he spoke, noting the phase sixer standing by their commander and showing him his due respect as well. So much for subtlety. How many will die this time? Of course, he kept those thoughts to himself.
