And on that topic, I can tell you that Tammuz wouldnt even make the top three in the preds right now (if he's not careful, Edge and Colina will overtake him too), so he's hardly coming in and becoming the dominant force if/when he gets to go pred again.

Anyway... I think this whole thing concerning defection is overblown. Sure, a person wanting to switch sides after getting the alt-modes he/she wants can raise an eyebrow. But if it's beneficial towards game balance, then I have no qualms about it.

If they get the ability to allow someone to defect let them. It is almost winter here in the states I'm sure in a few months a big blizzard will hit any we will be reset again anyway

If we had a new version of the game I doubt we would use the weather as an excuse; I imagine we would just turn it on and let it go.

Edit: Though there'd probably be a few months warning, so a few final tournaments could be organized, followed by a short period of downtime between games while some final bugs were exterminated.

Also I'd hope that OS would tinker with the V1 code to give us x10 xp for the last few months.

Edit II: Hell, if we had something like that, we'd probably forestall releasing it after any major natural disasters just so you guys wouldn't think we were lying about the damage.
