Dinobots I'm not EXTREMELY excited about ('cept Grimlock, who is five distinct flavours of awesome), though having the Constructicons...that would kick absolute ASS! If this comes through, I pity the poor sucker who has to design them! Same goes if they decide to have Triple Changers (I wnat Astrotrain!).

Hell, I have an idea to introduce Shockwave, Soundwave, Blitzwing, Astrotrain and a combiner of some sort (want it to be Dev as he IS THE ORIGINAL AND THE BEST!! imo) into a sequal. I can even get Galvatron into a third without any UNicron. The question is.... how will they do it because my idea is great?
And until I see the second movie (because I wont want to spoil it before hand, just like the first one) that question will remain unanswered. But I hope it's a good one.

I can't help but imagine that the origin of the "movie" Dinobots would involve (among other things) an irate Grimlock, frustrated with not being able to choose a powerful form, somehow catching a television signal that just so happens to be an old Godzilla-esque movie where the citizens of {insert city name here} are fleeing in terror...

As for the Constructicons, the premise might involve trying to convert Earth into a new Cybertron or some such...yeah, an old theme that never quite worked from the G1 'toons, but would likely provide the best justification as to why the militaristic Decepticons would forego devasting vehicle modes in favor of construction vehicles. However, unless the Dinobots combine (or Grimlock, the only one used, is massive), I doubt we'll see Devastator as a combiner...though maybe the leader of the Constructicon pack, and a rival of ol' Grimlock.

I personally don't think that the average moviegoer would care much for the idea of Optimus Prime's personality being lost in a robot combination such as Omega Prime. General nobodies....sure. great combination fodder. But not the leader.

Now Omega Supreme would completely rock! I could see that happening before the Dinobots, as much as I love them!

Yeah, I was thinking Omega Supreme too. He would totally kick ass!!! In "The Origin of Omega Supreme" He and the Constructicons became rivals after Megatron's reprogramming of them, so it would make sense anyway. The thing is, for a sequel, they sort of backed themselvs into a corner with the whole Allspark thing. When one of the sides regains control of it, the plot is done. Why would Megatron even bother with the Earth after that? They should have stuck to the original story....endless possibilties there. Oh well, i guess we'll see....

My idea for 2 so far...

Future Labs- Late Night.
Security patrols along the fence to a manned check post. The Patrol reaches the gatehouse as an unexpected military transport rolls up to the gate. The guards question the driver about his purpose there. The hologram driver fades as the transport changes into Onslaught, a Decepticon. Onslaught breaks into the labs and recovers his objective, the spark cores of blackout and brawl.

Sector Seven HQ- Morning.
The Board meets to discuss the recent events at Future Labs. The theft of the cores doesn’t make much sense. Word arrives that the Autobots are approaching Future Labs. The NBE unit ends its exercises and gets ready for some well earned leave when they are dispatched to meet with the Autobots at Future Labs.

Witwicky’s Auto Shop- Morning.
Sam Witwicky is in the garage as his father, Ron, leaves to get some parts. Bumblebee gets a message from Optimus Prime that Cybertronian activity has been reported near Future Labs. He and Prowl are to investigate; it may be a lost Autobot. As Sam gets ready to go with, Mikeala shows up and drags him off on their Anniversary Trip.

Nemesis Base- Moon
Starscream sits in the Nemesis on the dark side of the moon awaiting communications from Onslaught. Bonecrusher enters with news, Shockwave is approaching. Starscream flips out. His attitude changes when word from Onslaught arrives, he has located Intruder (Not gonna call him Blast-off, sorry), another Decepticon.

Future Labs- Day
Prowl is already on the scene with the NBE team when Bumblebee arrives. S7 tells the Autobots what was stolen and describe a new Decepticon as the culprit. There is no point to the theft without the Allspark, unless they have found a new way to create a Spark. Prime contacts the Autobots to report a signal pulse near Spaceport (Think Vigin Galactic).

Amusement Park- Day
While standing in line for a ride, the crowd starts to panic and scatter as three Protoforms come crashing to the ground nearby. As the park empties, Sam and Mikeala head towards the impact site, a new Animatronic Dinosaur ride. As they investigate, a T-rex confronts them demanding to see Prime. His name is Grimlok, and his companions are Snarl and Slag. The Police Department arrives and finds Sam and Mikeala standing between 3 Large Animatronic Dinosaurs. They draw their weapons and the Dinobots begin a rampage.

Nemesis Base- Moon
Shockwave arrives and demands to speak with Megatron. When he learns of Megatron’s fate, he takes over as leader of the Decepticons. Starscream denies him the honor. Shockwave assigns his number one, Soundwave to disable the traitor. Soundwave’s Symbiote’s overpower Starscream and detain him.

Highway Oasis- Day
Optimus Prime sits parked next to several other trucks. His Hologram sleeps casually behind the wheel until a signal goes off on the dashboard. The Driver snaps awake and the Prime bolts off onto the Highway. Knowing Sam would be a target for arriving Cybertronians, he gave Sam an emergency beacon…

Spaceport- Day
Bumblebee has one as well. The NBE unit and Prowl have been investigating the Spaceport and have found no signs of NBE activity. With that Bumblebee splits and races to meet Sam, he might be in trouble. The NBE unit sweeps the rest of the Spaceport and is attacked by a Decepticon Humvee, Swindle. Prowl joins the battle only to get jumped by Onslaught.

Amusement Park- Day
With the police and swat firing on the Dinobots, it’s hard for Sam to talk them down. Grimlok continues to chase Sam until Prime arrives and tackles him. At Primes intervention, Grimlok finally reveals his Robot Mode and demands justice for the destruction of the Allspark.

Nemesis Base- Moon
Shockwave is brought up to speed on the construction of the Matrix, a device that Splits Sparks for reproduction. They were going to use it to revive Megatron, but his Spark Core has been missing since just after the Allspark was destroyed. Starscream had used the Matrix to revive Onslaught. When Shockwave was taken to see the Matrix, it is missing… and so is Starscream.

I think the best part of that was your idea about the Dinobots at the amusement park. The only problem with that is...how should I put this? Uh...NO SNARL!

actually, I DO know about Omega Supreme . and all I really don't like about G1 are the robot designs, which are boring to me. but if Omega Supreme was put in the movie, I think it would be better to base him off the Energon version, who was a more reasonable combiner than the many random, and seemingly useless pieces of the original. and I stick with the fact that Omega Prime deserved more screentime. who WOULDN'T like a combination of arguably the two greatest Autobot leaders in history? and who says OP's personality has to be lost? it could be like DBZ fusions, where the combination has parts of each component's personality. of course. if the went with OS, they could have it combine with Optimus to make Optimus Supreme

I see a couple of problems here.
1) you didn't discuss the origins of Prowl and Onslaught

2) the Decepticons still outnumber the Autobots.

3) you only introduced the Dinobots and Prowl as new autobots

For T2 (erm, the other T2) have the dinobots be discovered deactivated by the decepticons on earth. The dinobots were a bunch of criminals who fled cybertron and crashed to earth 65 million years ago, scanning and assuming dinosaur form. They were then involved in some climactic event (or maybe a battle so apocalyptic that it triggered the ice age). They are so brutal and stupid as they are so old and basic compared to newer bots.

Constructicons are easy to introduce, have dinobots turn good halfway through movie and fight former comrades, the cons.

The end.

I like the idea of the dinobots being like a special forces that was the first dispatched to find the allspark, getting caught up in the last cataclysm, and being unearthed by someone.

Damn, we already did that one... Megs!

Did anything say HOW Megs got frozen in the first place or are we to assume that it was the same event that flash froze the north and south poles.

The reason prowl just appears is because at the end of the movie prime activates a beacon summoning the remaining TF's to earth. Prowl doesn't need an origin, just some character development.

And you can't just throw in a list of robots unless they are needed, otherwise the movie gets crowded and is spending too much time introducing characters and not enough time on the story advancement, remember Batman Returns? 1.5 hours of character development, 30 mins of story.

Do we really need Devastator perse', not really. A gestalt? Definately. we've already introduced 2 combiners in part one, brawl and blackout (vortex). They can be rebuilt, and resparked with a piece of Bruticus, Starscreams creation. this fits G1, while my conflict between grimlock and prime analogs to War Within...

I hope there isn't a TF 2 unless they get their act together and do it right.

OK , so these movies are not G1, right.? Because they apparently scrapped most G1 design and story elements, yet they seem to want to be G1. It is undeniable that this is a G1 story with G1 characters. I cant wait to see how they mess up these designs and character stories. I have an idea. The movie should follow how the humans react to these new characters and not be told throught the eyes of the main characters we care about, the robots.(sarcastic)
