Definitely more for me. Stuff that just blew by me the first time around I actually caught this time. Like the amount of talking the robots actually do. I swear I don't remember Jazz saying more than two lines the first time I watched it. This time he had a good half page. Freaky. Same for the other bots. And did it seem like you could understand the Decepticons better on the DVD? I actually heard what Starscream said to Megatron this time around. Maybe it was the lack of the bass being so far turned up like it was in the theater. Your folks thoughts on this?

Pausing during the transformations and battles rocks. Definitely enjoyed it more on DVD.

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Truly a much better experience on DVD.

Oh sure, I enjoyed the theatrical experience, and will do so again for the sequels, but the DVD gives you complete control over all of it.

The details you miss on the big screen are insane. Such as Megatron pulling his claw out to destroy the catwalks in the Sector 7 chamber. Never saw that before tonight's viewing.

Little things like that go a long way.

The movie was a lot better than we first thought. DVD proves it.

I liked the experience in the theater better. But I think you're right about hearing more dialogue. I didn't really catch Starscream's comments either, or at least I didn't remember them.
I only saw it twice in the theater.

It's great on DVD for these reasons alone:

- Sit anywhere you want to watch it
- No popcorn crunching
- No little brat kids talking during it
- No texting going on (those bright damn lcd screens annoy!)
- No stupid adults yapping through it
- Relax on the couch and crank it up as loud as you like on your big screen TV
- No Previews beforehand ;)
- Watch it whenever you want!

Yeah a lot of positives to owning it. :)

-No crying babies/little kids
-No one kicking the back of your seat
-$19.99-$29.99 one-time fee lets you see the movie as many times as you want, whenever you want, and wherever you want. :)

I enjoyed it more on DVD.
Why?
Because I could scream and yell as much as I wanted when the Decepticons are blowing stuff up, and not get harassed people in a theater.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the theater and will be seeing all the sequels myself, but there, you have to limit your emotions towards the film.

I watched selected action scenes last night and definitely liked the movie more on the small screen. I put my headphones on and watched it on my Macbook. While the big screen format was a great experience, I found that the camera shaking and jerky action was not as exaggerated on a smaller format and the details of the fight scenes were considerably clearer. Example, I never clearly caught the close up of Brawl's (Dev's) face during the city fight scene in the THREE times I say the film in the theater. On my laptop, not only was it clearer but, as was stated in prior posts, I could pause it and go through it frame by frame. Good stuff, GREAT DVD. Looking forward to watching it from beginning to end on my 50" TV and going through the extras too. Now, if they'd only release this on Blu-ray, I'd be a happy(er) camper.

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Watched it again (just finished).

Frenzy, Megatron and Ratchet have more lines than I thought. Not a great amount, mind you, but more.

Such a great amount of detail. Though I hope they cut back on the detail during transformations in the sequel. More time for the robots and less money spent, equals less restrictions and whining on the studio end.

It did remind me of something...I'm glad they decided not to go with the leaked "treatment" for TF2. It would've canceled out a key plot point of the first movie and would've made no sense.

In the treatment, Prime holds the Matrix, which is supposed to give souls to the mindless drones.

Yet in this movie, he kept telling Sam to push the Cube into his chest, he told the Autobots he'd do it if he had to, etc. Well if he's holding the source of souls...why would he put the Cube in his chest? He'd kill himself, destroy the Allspark, and the Matrix all in one fell swoop.

The writer of the treatment is an idiot. You don't cancel out an entire piece of the storyline for the second movie. It just doesn't work.

....Highlander 2, anyone?

Is anyone else really surprised that there are no previews on the DVD? :???:

I'm wondering if this was Bay's attempt to protest against Paramount for not releasing a Blu-ray version.

BTW, I'm really happy that there aren't any previews before the menu, but they could have added some trailers in the special features.

There are trailers.

Rise of the Autobots (an extended Chevy commercial)
Ironman (after the credits, first disc)
Plus all of the TF trailers including the teaser.

Beyond that, no. No trailers for other films. But then again, this is a special film. It's the first of it's kind and they went all out for it.

Hmmm, interesting that they're after the movie. That's actually pretty considerate of the studio. I hate sitting through them over and over after the first time you watch a DVD (some just can't be skipped).

My feelings didn't change, I liked it just as much as the first 20 times I saw it.

I've been saying there is alot of stuff that people missed, hell I'm still seeing new stuff when I watch it and I've watched it a ton of times.

Maybe now some of the trashtalkers will see that's it's really a very good movie.

Just the short fight with Brawl, Ratchet and Jazz I had to watch like 6 times to actually catch everything.

When I first saw the movie I thought there was too much happening at one time to see clearly what was going on, but now I like that it's like that since I think that's the way a battle would actually be. Very chaotic.

Best movie I've seen in 10 years, easily.

One thing that really stands out to me after watching this several times now is just how saturated the colors are in the film. It was vibrant on the movie screen but obviously some of that is lost when projected. The move on my THX-tweaked TV is really rich. The yellows stand out to me the most but all of the colors are deep and pretty true to life. Anyone else been noticing that?

Half and half.

One the one hand,it didn't have that *oomph* of surprise or comedic effect, cause I knew what was gonna happen.

On the other hand, since I did know what was gonna happen, I enjoyed the fight scenes quite a bit more, and they didn't seem as chaotic.

And the animators deserve an award. When a Transformer gets hit, they get hurt, with tons of parts flying off. I never noticed that Jazz knocked off Brawl's cannons in the theature, or that Megatron used his flail when he got out of the ice. Also found out where that windmill thing that robot replica's Barricade has came from.

I do wish the fights were a little longer or more focused on, but it's a great movie with great action scenes that aren't as chaotic as they first appear to be, and the second one is sure to blow it away.

And you can see the evil glory that is Megatron. He rocks so hard, it hurts. It hurts bad, but doggone it, it's like a SM thrill.

Alright, that's a tad much, but still the movie rocks 'til you can't stand it no mo'.

Oh and uh...Megatron uttering "I still function" FTW! YEAH!

*does the Ace Ventura pelvic thrust* CAN YA FEEL THAT?! HUH?! HUH?! YEAH!

....do I enjoy the movie a tad too much? ...perhaps.
