I dont get why the new head isnt blue. I wouldnt mind having the axe if it was scaled for orion or voyager prime.

I kind of want one to be honest. But I don't have the figure itself and it's too late to get one for a normal price. (Likewise Henkei and RM Prime.)

But yeah, what's up with the colours?

Re: The colours. Reading a news story about this over at TFormers.com, it seems the colours in these photos are prototypes and not final. I would expect the final versions would be more traditional blue for the head, and black for the gun.

Even as one of the few who doesn't completely hate this mold, I'm not sure what I feel about this upgrate kit. It doesn't seem that necessary. The matrix seems pointless if it doesn't have a chamber in his chest to hold it. I didn't think there was much wrong with his original head sculpt, except for how tough it can be to pry it out from his vehicle mode. (Maybe this new head is easier for that?)

I suppose the new gun is more G1, and the axe could be nice... But even without hating the mold, I'll admit it is far from the best G1 Prime mold. If this set maybe addressed some issues with the mold and made them better, could be worth it. But just adding slightly better accessories is like putting lipstick on a pig, and doesn't seem worth it.

Forget the head, looks like whoever did that somehow also rebuilt the legs to be collapsible for vehicle mode. Now that is an example of an improvement that this figure could use!

Not bad, not bad. But since it's just some accessories and a new head it seems kind of pointless if there are more catering to Prime figures like this one. I will give the makers brownie points for matching the Robot Masters figure, which some fans seem to liken the Deluxe one to:

This is kind of interesting. Weapons and new heads in one set for a figure that doesn't normally receive praise. Mostly because of the funky alt mode. Maybe I should break out that OP figure and mess around with it a bit before making an order, because currently he has no place on my displays.

i get you. but i was never a big fan of the RM convoy. he seemed to wide in the hips... in fact the whole legs/hips thing was just odd. everything else was slick though, and you cant beat a prime who comes with an energy axe.

i think ill bite on this set (pending on final colors). he would have to match united prime. and id cross my fingers that the energy axe could fix classics voyager prime.

This comes across as kinda pointless. The figure is long sold out and frankly not even worth the original price.
It needs more than just a new head, a gun, an axe and a Matrix to actually help the figure in any way. But I have to admit, the sculpting on this is great, I particularly like the head, and the gun. Those two pieces are sharp!

Meele Ax does look a bit small. Loved how the MP-10 Ax was bigger than the MP-01 Ax.

True. But I would still consider it, if only because I have the clear Sons of Cybertron set, and that Optimus is just sitting there.

If one of the heads matched the clear blue, I'd consider it. Maybe then it would bring up a crap figure to a forgettable one.

I actually really like the bot mode on this Op. Much more than the Classics Voyager. Its just that as a Deluxe he's a bit too small for my Classics collection. He's got plenty of good articulation and all the important design cues are there without him being kibble-tastic or oddly proportioned. The alt mode is pretty pants though.

This lit looks okay but I'm not bothered about upgrading this bot anyway so I'll pass. Now, if it had been a trailer and Powermaster armour, then I might have been on board. A PM Prime upgrade to the Deluxe would bring him up to around the same height as Energon Scorponok and that could be very interesting...

Looks pretty good! I question why Sons of Cybertron clear OP gets the shaft with that grey head (why not clear matching plastic??), but overall I'm happy with the value for $20.

Looking forward to adding an otherwise obsolete mold to my eventual Prime display.

im actually more inclined to buy that, for the chance that it might fit on the classics voyager prime. not the head, but the axe and matrix? theyd be nice additions.

I quite agree. I'm also wondering if that gun would look alright with the Voyager mold...

I agree that the Deluxe Prime mold is awful. The bot mode is passable. The one thing he has going for him is that he is the perfect height to sit on that toilet Transformer, Shortround, from a few years ago...

The ArtTek looks alright, but there is just something about it that didn't look good to me. I'm not sure what exactly.

The one I wanted was the one on the back of the FoC Voyager Soundwave box.

If that is all you need, you should be able to find a G1 prime gun on ebay for around ten bucks:
