Dr Wu: Duel Hound add on kit pic review

I got the Dr Wu: DW-P02 Duel Hound upgrade kit from Robot Kingdom this week.
It comes in a very nice flip open plastic box with some really nice art on the front. Makes it a bit more attractive. The box is a bit larger all round than the iGear Kup head box and could be used as a storage case too if you wished.

It's designed for the Universe/Classics Hound and Ravage set. In it you get 2 rocket launchers for Ravage and a "Holographic Rifle" for Hound.
It's a very nice set and the gun is very G1 accurate. They are painted a shiny silver and seem robust. There are some nice details and they stand out. Nothing looks like the paint is covering all the little touches.
They are not a reflective chrome though like the G1 missiles or G3 trailer gun.

The gun is a VERY tight fit in Hounds hand. It's not going to spin about with a lot of movement. It goes all the way to the bottom of his fist almost. It has a part on the bottom of the handle that looks almost like a tab or part left on but I believe it's supposed to be there.

It's not designed to fit into his Jeep mode from everything I can see. I tried to push it onto his seat but the tab on the gun is too big. If you wanted to file a bit off it could work. But I placed it between the seats and it seemed ok there.

The Ravage rockets are good too. They fit in the side holes of his legs.

One thing I noticed is they were a bit loose. I have used my G1 missiles in Ravage a lot so I am not sure if I widened the holes a little. If I push the missiles in all the way they flop down. If I pull them out slightly exposing the peg then they stay up fine.
They are the same length as the G1 versions and a sleeker close modern representation.

They will also work on G1 Ravage. The pegs meet and touch in the middle.

Overall it's a very nice set! If you have any Ravage G1 missiles or the G3 Trailer gun it's not necessarily an essential purchase. A real good way to upgrade your figure if you haven't. My Hound is now equipped with a great Robot mode gun and the cool G3 Jeep Machine Gun and my G1 Ravage can get his own missiles back.

I paid $12.90/£8.20 but I had it shipped with other things which is handy as it's a small box to post. Even if you get it shipped by itself it's still just cheaper than BBTS and they have it in stock now!
I'm not sure it's worth higher than $20 or £15 but it depends if you need the accessories or not. I don't think I would have been happy to spend more than that on a small kit like this personally.
I hope you liked my review and it helps you to buy it or not.

Seibertron.com member Azrail has posted a pictorial review of the latest offering from third-party accessory maker Dr. Wu, DW-P02 Duel. The set is designed to upgrade Universe 2.0 Hound and Ravage. The set includes Hound's holographic rifle and missiles for Ravage.

I might pick this up, Ravage is in desperate need of firepower. Your Hound looks really nice, BTW. Love the drybrushing you have done :)

Thanks but I can't take the credit! 8) I got the Henkei version on ebay with the custom paint details added. It does make it look awesome! Especially the shoulder cannon :KREMZEEK:
I've added Reprolabels to the robot mode but left off the Jeep ones as it didn't quite suit the Henkei version.

If these were chromed, I'd buy them. The paint on these just isn't smooth enough to pull of the non-shiny look. The overall design of them is nice though.
