The Transformers Galaxy Hong Kong Fans Group have posted an image of Dr. Wu's upcoming DW-P03 "Iron Will", a replacement faceplate for FansProject's City Commander. A second image of an alternate visorless face has also been posted on ACToys. Image mirrored below.

The goggled one looks mediocre, slightly better than the original, but probably not worth throwing money at. The other one...reminds me of that dude from that movie Mask, and not the lame Jim Carrey one.

This would be neat to add diversity to all the variations of the City Commander sets I have.

It makes it look more like Ultra Magnus I'm in on this one! The pricing is what bothers me, but it might be worth it.

Really? I'm perfectly happy with my City Commander's face.

I have the original version and I purchased the additional set which FansProject released later for the weapons and the extra face plates included are more than enough to vary the expression.

I honestly don't think these faces look very good - they don't fit the helmet properly for one, the faces extend lower than the originals and just don't look right IMHO.

the goggles face looks ok, but its not giving me an ultra magnus vibe. the one with the visible eyes just looks a bit derpy, the eyes are where the eyebrows should be. needs to be a bit cleaner looking and in proportion before i bite.

what ever happened to the protector faceplate? from what i saw it looked in proportion, sharply molded and was a vast improvement to the regular face that Protector came with.

The protector faceplate came out a while back.

And remember these are probably pretty early test sculpts.

But I have to agree with others, I have the faceplates that came with the weapon kit, and they are fine.

These faceplate upgrades are not something I anticipate ever spending $$$ on.

That guy probably aged better than Cher!

Back on topic, I like the goggled one. I may pick it up if the price is around the $10 mark and has an additional accessory included like a G1 based rifle for UM (not counting the extra face plate with yellow eyes, *gack*).

Mkall has a good point, this offering adds variety for those owning more than one City Commander set (DIA Commander, Powered Convoy, and Shadow Commander).

I dig the faces that come with CC, but these faces give more personality. The blue eyed one definitely says Ultra Magnus those other faces make him look like a mindless android with mad body armor, but they fit the bill. I'm just not big on paying $18 for a face when Firebolt/Sidearm only costed $10, but that's just me though, Ima get it anyway to turn City Commander to Ultra Magnus.

these "UPGRADES" are all nice and stuff......but when are we, the fans, going to get a brand new Ultra Magnus figure?

I'm talking a brand new figure from scratch. This challenge should be met by anyone; Hasbro/Takara or 3rd party or even 4th party.

Looks okay, but not enough that I want it. The Protector face set was too expensive, this one probably will be too.

That first faceplate they show looks awesome, I'll definitely be buying this. I have the alternate faceplates that came with the weapons pack/reissue CC set, but the face that came with CC always did bug me.

I use the Optimus Prime type faceplate for my DIA Commander, but this Dr. WU face will definitely be on my CC as soon as I can get my hands on it.

Eh... doesn't look like it does that much imo. FP effed up with having the bridge of the nose protected by the helmet armour... can't fix that unless you change the entire head.

I also feel the same way.

Why not just go all the way & create a 100% new head sculpt with weapons/accessories.

to just create the inner faces,seems kinda lacking/weird/whatever.

I ain't spending $10 or $15 or $20 bucks just for one or two one inch inner robot faces. I've got better things to spend my money on than one inch inner robot faces.

FWIW,I like the inner face my 3rd party city commander comes with. I see zero reason to replace it with the DR. WU version.

KOtoys.com that was partnered with CHMS was suspose to release a G-1 styled ultra magnus combining toy. the truck cab/bot part was rumored to be voyager sized. the trailer transformed into a suit of armor that fit around the voyager truck cab robot mode. the combined robot mode was rumored to be 8 inch ultra size or 9 inch leader size.

Kotoys.com & CHMS closed down,So the G-1 combining ultra magnus toy is rumored to be cancelled. This is a 3rd party company,so they might change names+addresses+sites & re-open up under a new everything. I guess we'll play the waiting game on this one.

A few months ago,A takara designer teased a pic of a G-1 styled ultra magnus trailer/armor for the MP-10 Convoy leader sized toy. some fans guesses,that their would be a MP-10 ultra magnus repaint with the new ultra magnus trailer/armor. sadly the shoulder joints were not universal. most guesses this would be fixed & it was only a first draft/stage proto type.

So this isn't for you or him then. Obviously any & every toy Hasbro or Takara makes isn't for everyone in a finicky niche like Transformers Collectors. Same goes with third party add-ons. Obviously an add-on kit for JUST the face is aimed at those who don't completely enjoy the few faces for any of the many Commander kits. Obviously some are with them.

Years of interaction with fellow fans, it still amazes me there are those who don't seem to understand that only what they want (ESPECIALLY in third party matters) doesn't dictate a standard. Two pages of almost similar sounding voices about this item, but the point doesn't sink in. Thought; If you're happy entirely with the face your 'Whatever'-Commander kit has, OBVIOUSLY this item isn't aimed at you. For those that don't feel the original faces do the rest of the incredible mold homage-justice, this is a win.

Folks should start being happier for the wins of their fellow fan-kin, rather than being overly critical of any & all items not set perfectly to their personal wants in collecting. It would be nice for a change.

S'also a big reason many TF fans eventually don't go to message boards after a while. I used to be big on all TF message boards in presence. No longer. This is merely the spark of the bonfire of why.

Awesome. I voice an intelligent view on a lack of positivity toward fellow fans getting what they want in something, not to mention a great effort of fans doing something for the effort of fans doing incredible work on behalf of all fans, and that's the response. Brilliant!
