I've been on a energon kick recently and I remember what an awesome gimmick powerlinks was.
Thanks to my latest haul I now have 2 Rodimus but it seems that very few people have 2 of the same figure so we can see what Autobots look like as shirts and pants. I can hardly find any pics of them online if anyone one has them though it will be you guys so come on and flex on us with those rear symmetrical powerline figures.

I spent way to long looking in the web and was able to find this as well. They look so good with their matching color scheme!

That's the thing! So many people had for example prowl and energon prowl but it's so hard to find pics of 2 of the exact same figure! Well except for towline but you know =p

In some ways, the "robot merged with itself" looks better than some of the other combinations. I'm looking at you, Towline-as-legs.

That's how I used to keep my Energon Rodimus as well. In my headcanon they're clones.

Tf Energon really missed a best by not having an episode where for some reason (time travel/parallel universe/Primus said yolo) there was two of all the autobots so they could powerlink with themselves. Kids would need to buy 2 ironhides to reenact that sence from the show.

What's this? I don't know. 8-}

But everything are conected via the link connectors. There is one, Mirage, who is conected via the "female cover" of one such port. The rest is just to manage the limbs efficiently. Mirage is best torso IMO, thanks to the big arms and bighead.

I decided to take some more pics to show off powerlinx Prowl. I dont know why this figure was a shelf warmer. Hes is amazing as a shirt or pants.

I took some more pictures of Powerlinx Rodimus aswell. Looking at the two side by side its confusing that Rodimus is the bad ass and Prowl was a shelf warming pair of glorified pants.

That and Rodimus' repaint, Checkpoint, looks more like Prowl than actual Prowl (or even SWAT Prowl!). They really should have named him Mirage and kept Mirage as Tidal Wave or something else (Undertow? Waverider?).

Not the same colors. I love the Energon deluxes, but not to the point to get identical ones.

I think part of it is that Energon sucked at promoting its own gimmick. It was the worst ad for combining TFs up until the Combiner Wars machinima came out and sucked even more.
