Episode 15 & 16 Megatron Rising parts 1&2:

Discuss anything about the Transformers cartoons and comics! You can discuss anything from G1 to Cybertron as well as the comics from Marvel, Dreamwave, IDW and more!

I enjoyed both episodes quite a bit. Most fun of the series so far. It's strange still, having so few actual Transformers compared to G1, where they practically flung them at you by the dozens. All in all I'm having a good time with the show.

Overall a mixed bag for me. After last week I was expecting better.

I liked:
* Starscream getting owned by Megatron. When Megatron was talking I just knew Starscream was going to get it.
* Blitzwing. This guy is a star, he's funny, but he shouldn't be defeated by taunting.

I disliked:
* Sari. "You lost MY key", "You built Megatron in your lab", etc. Just annoying.
* Sumdac. Megatron should have squished him at the end. Broken down or not, Megatron shouldn't *need* a pathetic little guy like that. As he said Sumdac may understand some aspects of Cybertronian technology but not the important parts (Spark, etc).
* The fact that Megatron seemed more powerful without the allspark. He got blown up by taking in the allspark, before that he was pretty much destroying everyone.

Anyway, I know it's only a kid's show, but it was kind of a let down, I expected more after last week. Also, looking at seib's listings there I don't see a whole lot more interesting in the future. I'll keep watching and try to remain hopeful, but this isn't as good as it could be.

I'm kinda liking the relationship between Megs and Sumdac. But I'm in the minority that likes it when a human can get some kind of control over a Transformer. I don't like TFs having Superman-like power. They need weaknesses here and there, and a human is a good way to exploit them. It's kinda like a little rock having an effect on Superman, I guess.

I'm really liking Blitzwing. Again, I'm a sucker for a character without full control over himself. To me it adds another dynamic than them just blowing crap up.

What I don't get is; If the show is so terrible and 74MX0r5
then why do folks who have consistently dogged keep watching it?

If you do not enjoy the show, save yourself 7 hours of your life
and do something else more constructive than boring those who do
enjoy it with all this bile.

Just my 2 cents.

So me saying what I think about a show is boring to you eh? Well then save five minutes of your life by not reading my post. This is an open discussion where anyone can post they're opinion regardless if it is good or bad.

Why do I keep watching? Well I could just turn the channel, but if I did would I see a Transformers show that is better than this one? Probably not.

I am so sick of this line being pulled out whenever someone says the least negative about the show, if you are so sick of hearing me complain that’s your fault and not mine.

And so whats going on with the weather in the show? I dont know what Detroit is like but is it Winter or is it spring or fall or summer? Cuz they keep showing Snow and Winter and ice but sometimes they show the human characters dressing warm and sometimes them walking around like its 80degrees out. Whats up with that? Thats kinda confusing me about their location.

We are just thawing out, and had record amounts of snowy precip this winter. We get all kinds of good weather...but no hurricanes, just tornadoes, thunderstorms, hail, snow, freezing rain, sun, droughts, heat waves... it's a variatable cornicopia of weather here. The saying about the weather here in Michigan is if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes...

Yes, we have 4 pronounced seasons here. Usually. :P

Uhmm okay..

Well, I saw the entire series and besides the still awful animation, I love this show!

Still, am I the only one who's hopes Starscream is not dead? I really like this ruthless character of him. I like how he threw Bumblebee away like nothing, and how he landed on Lugnot's face. ( I just hate sleep). I think Starscream awsome.

Megatron is so bad ass! A different kind of a cold calm killer.

Now besides the horrid animation, what still bugs me, is how "young" Prime is and how he loses his cool. None of the Autobots compare to the Decepticons, I just hate that. Bring in the Dinobots already!

Oh, a rumor that would make sense Suri, a robot? That would de-bunk Wheelie as the most hated Autobot? I hate that kid and his emo dad.

Well, that's it for me. I really hope Starscream comes back

Lower Michigan is insane in terms of weather. Summers are hotter than all hell, and winters are freezing.

I assume that, starting with Nature Calls, the episodes begin taking place in winter, while everything before that takes place through spring and fall. I figure that if winter begins somewhat early in 2057, then that would mean there's less time gaps in the story.

Man, the definition for emo these days is pretty loose. Also, apparently, the definition of gender. (Sari is a girl, they repeat that a lot)

Actually, that about sums up the weather in the last 2 weeks here in Michigan. Not kidding either :P I'm from metro-Detroit, so it's really not unusual to see weather like that, but then again, they haven't made the timeline for this show very clear either.

Weelllll.....

Ok, maybe glaciers are a bit much for Detroit XD What I wanna know is where exactly is the Dinobot Island in reference to Detroit? I know, it's a cartoon, but still, hehe.

Remember the is detroit in the future so global warming could have effected the weather patterns and as far as dinobot island goes they said it was an old military base so it most likely a man made island.

I think they said once it was a small island off the coast of Detroit in Lake Erie. Though looking at a map, Detroit isn't on Lake Erie, it's on like a channel connecting Lake Erie and Lake St Clair. And the island I think resembles the Dinobot Island most is actually on Canada's side. :P

Nice episode. I like the power of the new Megatron, and how once again the only way to take him down is to use a powerful alien object. However, for the first time, the Decepticons seemed beatable.

Very cool episode.

SO There's something Sumdac needs to tell Sari. She's probably gonna end up being a Robot.

Now Megatron was very cool and badass. However the way prime disposed of him was a little weak.

I mean Megatron puts the all spark I his chest. SO he has this phenomenally powerful device in him., Prime uses an equally phenomenally powerful key, and yet all that happens to Megatorn is he gets scorched a bit? When the autobots standard cannon on the Ark is able to blow Blitzwing and Lugnut into pieces?

Otherwise I loved the fight, Bulkhead actually looked competent. Loved how he trashed Lugnut. And I though the exact same thing he said just a he was blown away. "You talk too much".

Still I find Luguts undying loyalty to Megatron very funny. "Our Glorious Leader Megatron". And Starscream lading on his head was also very funny.

Ohh yes, even the rest of the autobots realize and acknowledge Bumblebee has an obnoxious personality. I was beginning to think I was the only one to think that. Thank you Prowl.

Overall I think it was pretty cool except for the damage level on Megatron. But of course they couldn't destroy him that fast.
And yes ts understandable he needs Sumdac to repair him, he no longer has the Allspark to fix him like it did in the previous episode. And while Sumdac doesn't understand the Allspark and such issues, he knows how the technology functions and can at the very least repair the chassis. So yeah its only logical Megatron would need him. However how did he survive the the blast of the Allspark? I mean Megs was scorched, and all, and Sumdac wasn't even scraped.

Anyway overall I liked the episode. Loving Megs's alt mode, and his swords are very cool.

Don't you just love though how the key can leave enough residual energy in Sumdac's machines to patch up the Autobots, but Megatron can absorb the power of the AllSpark directly and not be left with any?

QFT! I completely agree.

But when it gets down to it comments like that aren’t fair. I bet the majority of those who say I shouldn’t be posting my opinion have badmouthed the movie Swindle toy in threads about him.

How would it be an interesting conversation if people just keep coming up saying the same thing? I’m sorry if I’m being a party pooper or “ruining” your one sided discussions, but I have as much right to post my opinion as the next guy.

No one ever gives me an example of why I’m wrong or why this is a good show, instead I get told that I should quit watching the show or in other words “I disagree with you, and so does the majority so you shouldn’t post your opinion.”.

It’s the unsaid rule that if you don’t agree with the crowd you cant post.

I seriously think you guys need to calm down and respect my opinion, rather than tell me why I should quit posting it.

Respectful opinions are welcome that's why this is a discussion forum, not a kiss the @$$ of the people at HASBRO, Takara, Cartoon Network forum...

Sometimes it works out positive, sometimes negative. If we all had the same likes and dislikes in the world...how boring.

Just keep it respectful. Just because NM has not changed his mind to liking the show does not mean he cannot post, and discuss how he thinks the show could be better. He's not flaming, trolling, or breaking board rules. In fact, you should invite the opposite opinion in, so you can debunk his opposing viewpoints, if you feel so strongly in the other direction.

You're completely right. You have every right to respectfully express your opinion.

As a person in my mid thirties I'm another person that's disappointed with this show. The toys and the character designs are fine, but the writing is horrible. The show lacks direction. There is virtually nothing to link the shows together. It's like watching a bad sitcom.

My eight year old and his friends don't like it either and have stopped watching it. The writers of this show should watch Spectacular Spiderman. That is my son's favorite cartoon and with good reason. It is extremely well written and has a nice flow.

Couple of questions for those that follow the comic books. Did the "allspark" start with the movie or was it previously in a comic series? Why don't the comic book writers that know transformers write the cartoons? The WWI comic series is the only transformers comics I own and the writing in them is fantastic.

Being a transformers fan doesn't mean you can't expect more. Transformers is an iconic brand that no longer draws its popularity from a cartoon. I never was a fan of beast transformers, but the show has superb writing and there is absolutely no reason why this show couldn't have been done as well.
