I did end up buying the TFA version in the future, mostly to complete my TFA collection.
Wow, I love the TFA seeker mold. Returning for a simple transformation is crazy to me. Transformers are supposed to be simple to transform. Aside from G1 toys being G1, the good thing about them was that they were easy and fast to transform. As a kid, you could actually play with your toys. I feel bad for kids today. Todays figures look great on my shelf but I don't know if I want to be a kid playing with them. You have to stop playing for 10 minutes just to transform one figure. If you have a big battle going on, forget it. Nobotty is getting transformed because it would take an hour. Anyway, sorry. Back on topic.
I'd only take a figure back if it were broken inside the box or has a QC issue that prevents the figure from doing what it is supposed to do. Disappointment is not a reason to take something back. Plus, I've had figures that I didn't necessarily care for right out of the box grow on me down the road as I played and posed it a few more times. If a figure doesn't grow on me and I still hate it after a while then I do something else with it. Kitbash, re-paint, whatever to make some use out of it.
