I gave previous advertisement as to the gore ridden fact I will be doing a five week stint in the local Emergency Department. On my first day I saw many a ghoulish thing, but this one is defintely worth notice - if only for the lesson that if you desire to ride a motorcylce at over 50KPH then for God's sake, wear a helmet.

A fella ploughed right into the back corner of a truck, like I said, no helmet. Pretty much every bone in his face was broken, so much so that when he was lying on his back his face sank in. There was blood everywhere, all over the floor, all over the doctors, all over the nurses, all over me, all over the guy,and it just kept pouring out all over the place.

Amazingly, he had no obvious brain injury, but daaaaaaaaaaaam he won't be leaving hospital anytime soon, and reconstruction would be in his future.

Second lesson - don't stand too close to open fires if you a wearing a flammable skirt because getting partial and complete thickness burns to your arse is not fun.

To add to my usual speals of "don't do drugs", here's a "dont do IV drugs".

A guy blew out one of his veins on the side of his arm - as the ones in his hands and interior elbow joint are useless. Sadly, it wasn't his day to get high without consquence - he ended up with the biggest abcess I have ever seen.

And it ain't fun trying to explain to a hurting drug addict that "we can't get you into surgery right now because someone else is in there".

But it was a damn cool boil, it was so big he couldn't even fit his hand into his pants - why would someone put their hand into their pants to show his boil was so big it woudln't fit in his pant legs?

Cos he was stoned off his pus filled arse.

Right out of high school I interend at my mom's hospital as a transport, to see if maybe I'd like to get into a medical field.

I'm to sick to say I didn't like it, but I'm not insane enough to settle for the money they where offering.

that and I dropped a old dead lady.

I always love logging in and finding a new Gross-a-Thon posted by Poohy! Some of the subjects just make me feel like the smartest person on planet Earth! :lol:

It is not the injuries that makes me laugh, it is the acts leading up to the injuries that amuse me to tears! :lol:

Well, I should have plenty more stories come next week, I"m working the night shifts over the weekend - drunks, car accidents and general stupidity are planned!

There will also be a large range of black coffee and caffinated bevrages.
