I believe they will see a mass market release. Maudhouse Toys must've gotten an early shipment or something.

Really ? Im speechless. Well I guess if you wanna hide from humans on earth, what better way than as dinosaurs ? As much as I love the G1 cartoon, im kind of glad they pulled the plug on it rather than killing it slowly with pretenders, powermaster engines, and action masters. Some concepts were better left off the TV screen.

Not only were the shells in Victory, they were the only "altmodes" the Dinoforce had. They never actually transformed.

The more I look at the pictures of the shells, the less I like them. My friend who has the first one from TFCon says its the size of a football. What am I really gonna do with that ? That would be a waste of shelf space to me. If the Monstructor version comes with the shells, I might not double dip on the molds. The shells are just too stupid looking for me.

But should these rubber dinos be bigger than Columpio, Cubrar, and Volar ?
I don't think it was a bait and switch scam. Pretenders are not well liked among the fandom. Ask Rick Alvarez, lol. They knew for every fan that wants the shells, theyre would be 5 that don't. But I do agree they should be made available online for those who want them. FP Core, perhaps ? All I know is if the Monstructor repaint comes with the shells and costs an extra $150-200 more than Dinoking costs without the shells, Fansproject lost my money.

I'm with X, it doesn't really feel like a bait and switch to me(partly since it doesn't really match any definition I learned in economics and advertising classes). I seem to remember that they told us fairly early on that the figures wouldn't be releasing with the shells.

it matches the definition i learned in economics and advertising classes. unfortunately i work at a grocery store and every time the picture in an ad is wrong, not just the wording, customers get pissed that they invested time and money(gas)-kinda like my spending $200-and come in and find we don't have that item -kinda like not making the shells available for everyone to purchase- and we have to print corrections etc. same thing. its not just a matter of what is explicitly said its also what is implied. they showed pictures of the shells alongside the bots(whether they come with the bots or seperate isnt the point but that the shells would be available to buy period)and never said they were exclusive to conventions. you can even go to the fp facebook right now and see the time stamped on aug 28 ads that say tricerabot is coming soon. on the website it shows dinoking together with the whole set of shells(art) on the same day. it says nothing about being exclusive they are simply shown together. not long after the first two bots came in stock and shipped on sep 18. if i had any idea that those ads were not entirely true i would not have spent the money until i knew i could buy the shells. i feel cheated because to me the shells are essential to these characters and i spent my money with the understanding that the shells were "coming soon"

Pictures of products sitting together and/or being shown/announced together at a trade show =/= advertising in the way you're comparing it. In no way were these advertised by the actual company as being sold in any way that actually matches a definition of bait and switch, that being "the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods that are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods."
Not making the shells mass retail is not the same as them not being available at all.

And now it's processing!
I'm impressed with how quick FP got these out. Now I just need the two legs.
