???
What? that HFTD Minwipe looks nothing like 1987 Mindwipe. There isn't a single homage in the sculpt on HFTD Mindwipe that is even remotely a nod towards the 1987 toy.
This HFTD Mindwipe literally looks like Hasbro just slapped any old school name on it.
Clearly you haven't seen some of the "bat modes" fans have come up with. The way the wings are set in bot mode is an obvious homage to the G1 character and toy.
That's an awesome bat mode. But because of the robot mode it can never really fit in too well with classics figures. But I might try this transformation with my blue G2 version of the mold once I get hold of the IDW Dreadwing for my G2 shelf.

Think you've got way to much, OCD ,going on within in this hobby and this latest entry is further proof of this. In case you haven't noticed the Bat mode for this toy is not based off a BW styled 1996-1997 real life Organic beast mode. The toy here has a Robotic mechanical looking bat mode. Nothing needs to line up or look like the real deal organic bat,Liberties in mechanical looking beast modes are expected. FP Weirdwolf has a Sword for a beast tail and this didn't phase or upset you, Yet wrongly placed bat claws does?
