How does Wheeljack work for you? He's the smallest Deluxe Autobot I can think of.
Pretty damn close to me.
Gauntlet101010 wrote:So close to a perfect size, so very close. But I do think these will fit in on a Decepticon shelf, at least. I believe they're about the same size as FoC Shockwave, Starscream, and Label Soundwave, right? It's just too bad all those guys are fairly small themselves.
Still wanna see how they look next to RID Sideburn or DotM barracade. Vehicle modes, I mean. I have a feeling they may justify the size somewhat.
Keep em away from the Autobot shelf and guess what, they look nice!zodconvoy wrote:Gauntlet101010 wrote:So close to a perfect size, so very close. I wasn't sure if you meant FoC Starscream or Classics and
I don't have FoC Shockwave but here's another pic for comparison.

The elbows aren't a deal breaker for me now (they were a while ago, but I'm getting used to them), but Menasor does and always will suffer slightly for them.Gauntlet101010 wrote:The elbows DO NOT bother me. It was a little off-putting when I first saw them, but it matches the look of FP upgraded Bruticus, which is MY Bruticus. Being an upgrade is besides the point, that Bruticus does NOT suffer from the look of his elbows and I don't think Menasor will suffer for them either.
The cost is probably the biggest factor for me personally. A few pages back I mentioned how MM would have to be around $80 for this set to not be a ripoff. With MM making most of the legs as well as the body I could justify him costing $130 like TFC Not-Silverbolt, but with the extra $10 per limb-bot that makes MM a $90 toy at most.Gauntlet101010 wrote:Plus you gotta counter this with the OTHER fact out there. The only other company likely to do the set is TFC. And that will be a $500 set. Is Menasor worth $500 to you? Devestator is, and Predaking's looks are enough for me to justify MMC's price (at the early bird levels anyway). This is the sheer mercenary, practicality of collecting: questioning whether it's worth half a grand. And that's only a maybe; who knows if they're even going to do it! It's not like they've doen their Dinobots and that's gone through prototyping.
In the end there's a cost to suck factor that's gotta be worked in. This Menasor isn't perfect. The elbows and smallness are some examples. Then you have the standard FP deviation (oddly there's no consistant output for G1 eque heads for FP products). I'll agree that the individual figures cost too much for their size. HOWEVER! Will they set you back as much as a TFC product? Do you want a combining Menasor? Will they set you back even as much as hunting down the official hasbro figures will after so long?
If you have a Menasor-sized hole in your collection, I'd act now and get this while it's hot. FP does reissue their sets eventually, but they're all $10 more when they do and, IMHO, these sets are just barely worth the current asking price. Juuuuust barely. We'll see how offset Motormaster's price is.

Great pics, they've helped me to realise just how much FP designed them to compact which is totally different to the CHUG toys! I had noticed that before, but only now am I realising the impact of that decision when it comes to the size of the alt modes. If they had made the transformation a little more like the CHUG toys the alt modes would've looked a little bigger and there wouldn't have been as many issuesAgamemnon wrote:Sorry, my Movie stuff is just getting packed up and I cannot find anything there. But I did use several Classics/Generations molds and brought out PRID Cliffjumper for more recent deluxe judging.
Here I brought in PRID Cliffjumper. So....which scale of deluxe should we be looking for, eh?
FP is just smaller than the PRID deluxes, but quite a bit larger than the scouts, at least in robot mode. Wheeljack is definitely bulkier, and the FP offerings compact down into alt mode impressively. (The more I fiddle with them, the more they are growing on me. I feel like I've gotten down the nuances of the transformation to be far less fiddly for me now.
Oh, and I think these types of pics have been put out there before, but here's T-Bone with Nemesis (or whatever dark prime this is, Scourge? I cannot keep track.)
When you look at the pic of all five Stunticons in alt mode it is fairly clear that MM is going to be smallerAgamemnon wrote:If Motormaster is in scale with Voyager Prime, I will be a happy, happy camper!

The cars do fit with OP quite well, but he should've been Ultra Class from the start, not this half-arsed Voyager nonsense. When you look at the pic of all five Stunticons in alt mode it is fairly clear that MM is going to be smallerAgamemnon wrote:If Motormaster is in scale with Voyager Prime, I will be a happy, happy camper!![]()
He is close, but not quite big enoughDevastaTTor wrote:Motormaster's always been smaller than Prime, no matter whether it's the G1 cartoon or G1 toys. A MM that was in scale with (as big as) Prime would be too big. From a classics/neo-G1 perspective, this sizing is pretty accurate.

Autobot Genocide wrote:Eh? So is this smaller than classic prime speculation then? because i consider that mold to be small I would hope mm would be at least a couple of cm bigger, personaly i want it to be a tad smaller than hegemon and then if toyworld ever release tw-02 i will have a decent sized prime to say its in scale.

Which Classics Prime? Voyager was very decently sized, IMO. I didn't find him small at all. The Deluxe that came with G2 Megatron, on the other hand, was pretty small.

Agreed. Fansproject really dropped the ball on this set. This was supposed to be their big debut of a full original combiner. Between scale issues, an ugly Drag Strip and Dead End, and no official images of Motormaster, (only leaked) this set is not living up to the hype. Ill have the 1st two in hand by the end of the week. Ill speak more on them then.
