When you purchase something you can say anything you want about it. Especially when it's a pretty steep price. Instead of complaining about people picking on an obvious flaw of the set, you'd be better served by trying to say something good about it. Otherwise you're just whining yourself. >:oP

Edit:
Of course now we're discussing my whining about your whining about my whining about FP Menasor's size.

I guess I just don't understand why the scale of this combiner is such a surprise. FansProject didn't drop the ball, they did exactly what they meant to & anyone who collects their stuff should have expected them too do. Why would you not scale your new combiner with your previous two? MakeToys Giant is scaled to FansProject combiners as well. If you wanted bigger, that's fine, but you shouldn't have expected it. If you're into the TFC sized combiners, just wait on TFC to make them all. I'm sure they'll get around to the rest of them eventually. ;)

^-- This. :APPLAUSE:

Size issues are indeed opinion (not fact). Since I have these in hand, my opinion is that they are a little on the small side, and I think Motormaster will be closer to size to fugly deluxe Classics/Generations OP (the one packaged with G2 Megatron homage) which will, indeed, make Motormaster king of the road. However, this should scale nicely with FP Bruticus, which makes complete sense. If it is your opinion that this was a mistake by FP, I respect your opinion. I disagree, but I respect.

And really, the important part is that we get a freaking Menasor.

Finally!

It's not a surprise at all, but seeing it in context really hammers home how small the car and bot modes are. And, as far as that goes, Maketoy managed to pack in proper deluxe sized robots into Giant and Giant (in combined form) is about the size of Menasor.

Which isn't to say I'm not excited about getting Menasor. I definately am! But I won't look at this through rose-colored glasses. They're small. Whether it makes sense for FP or not, the limbs are just small.

I see this Menasor as Fansproject's big debut. Theyre showing for the first time that they can make an all original combiner without using Hasbro figures. TFC, Maketoys, and MMC raised the bar and the FP Bruticus and Superion add on sets are not the standard for combiners anymore. Plus Function X Chromedome was a generous deluxe sized figure. So yes Fansproject dropped the ball with the scale of these cars. Size does matter.

I don't recall saying that they weren't small. I'm saying that they are the exact size they should be to scale Menasor with Bruticus & MT Giant. And no, this isn't FP's big debut.

Like I said, if you want them bigger, wait on TFC or another company to coming along like TFC. But continuing to spam this thread with how you think these should be bigger is a bit redundant. FansProject's Causality line is nothing but large scouts. The F(x) line appears to be all deluxes. We know what to expect. We knew what to expect.

Does anyone find these figures to be a bit small? I bet everyone that is a fan of TFC thinks they are the perfect size.

Although i bet all the people that collect voyager and deluxe sized TF's and have Giant and FP Bruticus wish these guys were like, twice the size!

Does anyone have an opinion on this that we can fill 7 pages with so every time I get excited about a possible MM pic being posted I can sift through them instead?

Blame FP for not posting new pics, not on people discussing the figures.

As for G1 Menasor, I didn't have him as a kid. But you know what? Those G1 combiners really are pretty tiny. And if I had more TFs as a kid I probably would have been disappointed with it. I used to have a fanatsy of pitting my Voltron (a Panosh Palace version, the biggest there was at the time) against Devestator. I would have been veeeeeeeeeery dissappointed in that battle.

None of you guys are doing anything to divert the thread away from a discussion about their size, you know. You can complain about the discussion or you can choose to change it. Your call. But complaining about will only bring it up again.

Comparing 1986 figures to 2013 figures is not such a great comparison. Back then that was the standard size for a combiner. Not any more. TFC has raised the bar. MMC has followed. Even the Maketoys Giant individual figures are deluxe size or bigger. And lets not forget FP Bruticus and Superion were NOT 3rd party combiners. They were add on sets built around Hasbro scouts which is a concept no longer needed by todays 3rd party standards.

You bring up an interesting point.
Yes, the G1 combiners were smaller than the standard figs of the time.
But even as a kid this bugged the heck out of me.

Watching the show, the Constructicons, Stunticons etc. were the same size as the other characters, and combined they towered over everything. To be fair, their relative sizes varied widely from scene to scene, but Prime was never really taller than any combiner's knees (and at times could be clutched King Kong style, but show inconsistency is another discussion.)

As toys, Devastator wasn't really that much taller than Prime or Megatron, as you can see in the gallery pic below.

@Rated X

Had nothing to do with liking the pic and everything to do with it being irrelevant. Just as posting a pic of Hulk Hogan would be irrelevant. However, if you still insist that 'big size = good' perhaps you could elaborate on what you didn't like about Genesis' arms? Ya know, outside of the fact that it wasn't G1 enough for you so it was therefore, bad.

You're saying you don't like the size and you would have preferred they were bigger, I get that. However, that isn't an indisputable truth, it's an opinion because not everyone can acknowledge and agree that this is a bad thing, which you seem to insist upon. There are no pics you can take on Tuesday that will change that as some people will still like these figures for what they are and some will remain unsatisfied.

What I do find interesting though is you still bought the figures ... curious. If you don't like them, don't buy them. Stop calling your unsatisfied feelings 100% truth and quit attempting to cram it down the throats of those who do like them.

The Causality line is botched up. It starts off as a line of add ons made to scale with crappy Hasbro figures. Then it jumps into ninja Insecticons that are NOT combiners. Then it jumps into obscure Micromaster repaints. Then back to more insecticons that dont combine. They finally had a chance to end that pointless line and start something new from scratch. But they dropped the ball and insisted on shunning the progress made by other companies since the Cirt Commander days. The Function X scale should be their new scale. It is the size all new figures should be minus Mini-bots and cassettes and leader figures. FP doesnt need to go the Hasbro route and keep shrinking the figures and raising the price.

The Causality line consists of the Ninja Insecticons and the two Combaticon repaints.

The Crossfire line consists of the upgrade sets that utilize the 'crappy Hasbro figures.'

Function X is a separate line all its own and thus, a size scale had not been pre-established.

FansProject actually made these Stunticons bigger than their previous offerings as far as the Causality and Crossfire lines go.

You don't like the products FansProject is currently producing, that's fine. You're entitled to like whatever you like ... but that doesn't mean FansProject dropped any ball. It just means they didn't meet -your- expectations.

Get over yourself.

Fansproject is Fansproject. You can break up the products into as many lines with different names as you want, but at the end of the day it all represents the same name. And whether the lines are made by different designers or not, thats not relavant. They need to be on the same page. Also how come it's only ok to use the "dropped the ball" expression with Hasbro ? Heaven forbid I say anything negative about something from Fansproject, even if I own it and almost everything else I made... >:oP
